    Thank you so much Howard! My JBL3 was crackling at the higher volumes. I just removed the cover as you have shown, and immediately I could see two small pieces of black steel shards; hardly wider than a human hair, standing vertically upon the left speaker center cup. I switched-on the unit and turned-up the volume, and those metal shards danced noisily up and down on the speaker, held in place by the magnetism of the speaker. After I switched off the unit, I carefully removed them with a fine needle-nose plier,
    Viola! Problem solved!
    I’m guessing these fine metal pieces were left-over from the manufacturing process.
    Again, thank you for your very helpful instruction!❤️🙏🏻❤️

    Good video- thanks for the tips. I was able to fix a friend's Charge 3, which had a buzz on higher volumes. I checked several things covered here, but it turned out that rotating one of the speakers a fraction of a millimeter then re-tightening the screws fixed it~! (no, they weren't loose to begin with) I'm theorizing the rubber gasket had perhaps compressed over time. Hope this helps someone.

    Thank you! This solved my last problem. Ended up replacing the charge port, battery and now the crackling is gone too. Had no idea that it could just come off by itself, Goddamnit JBL..
    This part isn't as simple as that actually.. I had to adjust the magnet with bassy music playing to find the correct position, otherwise it would crackle.

      @@sos.gamers how did fitting your new battery go? I just went in to fixing again and after making a bodge fix, saw a video, where the lithium battery had swelled and broken it’s casing, causing the vacuum to be broken. I expect you’ve seen this: czcams.com/video/AZeOlHrxKpc/video.html
      I checked my battery after the bodge. There was no breakage / swelling. My bodge fix was some sponge behind the speakers. The vibrations have stopped. I can have the speakers loud again. I maybe should have glued but I’d forgotten about your video. Any more problems and I’ll go in with some strong plastic glue that I got from the builders’ store. Or maybe you’ve come up with something else since, which I can check out.

      @Linguaholic23 Před 4 lety +1

      You need to re-solder the little wires that are attached to the speaker. I mean the easy to reach (!) wires, where the plastic-covered wire goes onto a small plate and behind that goes further as bare coper wire. The connection between those two wires is fck'd and need soldering

    • @Linguaholic23
      @Linguaholic23 Před 4 lety +1

      To be more precise, the wires comming from the motherboard towards both speakers are soldered to the copperwires inside the speaker. One of those cables has a faulty connection. You already found out what speaker was the problem (you pressed on it to stop making weird noises) so that speaker has one faulty wire.
      Re-solder the connections of this one. You can test it by keeping the faulty speaker out and turn on the favorite Bass-rich song that creates Noise. Now carefully wigle with one wire at the time. If the noise stops you found the right (faulty) wire that needs fixing

      This sounds like a battery issue. Even though it reads ‘fully charged’ (all five lights lit), the battery is most likely not able to hold a full charge and is not feeding enough power to handle the low frequencies.
      Not sure how old your JBL is, but with constant use, my battery stopped holding a full charge eventually. You can order new batteries on line for under $20, and there’s a video on opening it up for replacement.

I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

    Do you know that when I turn it on it makes a buzzzzz on the speakers. They changed the battery, the same one and it started working 10 points, but a week later it started making that horrible wasp sound again and at certain frequencies the same thing. I looked and looked and tried but nothing to make it sound good. But surprise, I loved it again one of the 10 times I did it and it started to work much better again, very rare!!! I calculate that it has to be without air, super well isolated from the interior. Maybe if I make some gaskets out of some material like rubber or leather, I can achieve this isolation again and it won't fail anymore. As close to the original material as possible. If that's the case, I'll let you know and leave the message here. Greetings!!!! I don't think I've found the solution, anyone has it, but I imagine the thing has to be super closed so it doesn't vibrate and works well.

      same problem, but in my case its one of the 2 golden cables that are going into the membrane of the speaker (my problem is at the right speaker), one of the 2 copper cables vibrates too hard, so the bass crackles, i hope i can fix it with silicone. Hope i helped someone with this comment

    OK I'm at 3:23 now. Bro I did this. I messed round and let BOTH speakers touch each other and the magnetism caused BOTH speakers not to produce ANY sound. So I bought another one out of madness. Now the 2nd one is CRACKLING, wth is up with JBL!??! So this time I'm trying to fix the 2nd one.

    This is wrong and not helpfull at all, because the magnet is not fixed perfectly. You can’t center the magnet like that so the coil won’t be able to move. That speaker is still damaged

      @@CadidPixelNetwork you can’t repair a speaker properly without fixing the magnet exactly on the center of the core. This is impossible just by glueing the magnet in place.
