From what I searched Brazil's militar service is more similar to a "De Jure" than actually being compulsory.

There is no compulsory military training in Sweden it's only if you want to.
ther is compolsary military service insweden and if you dont want to serve in the armed forces you are still compeld to serve but a civilian capacity when that get activated again

It is compulsory in theory but not in practice. Legally you can be forced, but at the moment the numbers for each year are small enough that it is volountary in practice. If number go up you could start seeing people being forced into it though.
It wasn't compulsory a few years ago but it is now and you can get a jail sentence if you ignore the fines. But only 4% of those of eligable age are told to go to training. I'm not sure if it's picked randomly or not. Is it also now not gender specific.
@@notuxnobux There is a selection, where they check your intelligence, physical staus with a bunch of tests as well as an interview with a psycologist and they take the people they want. So you can avoid it by screwing up your tests, maybe.
