Nariman Asgharian And I know Mazda’s that are well north of 100k miles with no issues. You can’t argue reputations, and the fact that BMW doesn’t have a great one for quality speaks volumes for their economy counterparts. Mazda is well known for consistently producing quality products, because that’s the reputation they’ve built for themselves. It sucks that you’re dad had an issue with his, it’s extremely unlucky, but at the same time, no one car is perfect. So issues can happen, even with the best built ones. The Japanese philosophy is to perfect over time, so issues get worked out through many years, Nissan being the outlier here. You just don’t buy a BMW, Mercedes, etc. with reliability in mind, you buy for luxury and comfort. That’s what they’re known for. You want reliability? You buy a Honda, Toyota, Mazda.

I've had 2 BMW 5 series. A 2007 E60 and à 2017 G30. Loved those cars. A few months ago I crashed my G30 and I bought a 2018 Mazda 6. I'm very impressed ! It's full option so for half the price I paid for my G30 I have twice as much options. Some options didn't even work properly in the G30. And when I crashed it none of the airbags were activated... That's totally unacceptable. If I had known Mazda was this good I never would have bought the G30 and I would have saved a lot of money...

Just bought a Mazda6 Signature in Soul Red. Very happy with how the car looks, rides and feels. Think I will upgrade the tires to Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus. Comfortable seats coupled with a quite smooth ride makes this car a nice cruiser. Sharp handling with very good brakes, which should only improve with better tires. Bose sound system is excellent. Infotainment is bit dated and slow, but adequate for my purposes. I had a Mazdaspeed3 previously with excellent reliability. I believe this is a good value and really quite stunning in appearance.

Agreed, Mazda 6 does it better for the value you are getting. To get the better options on the BMW, I really don't think $65K is worth it. People would buy it just because of the brand name and status in that case (not to mention the higher insurance and maintenance costs ). I would pay for a new BMW 5 if it was $45K though. That sounds a bit more reasonable but still I would only do so if I had deep pockets.

I owned the Mazda, now I own the G30 530i...honestly the bmw is just a semi-luxury slug, you do need a better engine to make the car feel like a proper bimmer (even with remaps and stuff I am still not impressed) on the other had the 2.5l turbo Mazda was really really a great car, I am so sad I sold it. It had all the luxury and the tech you need, I did a remap of the engine and the gear box, and I bagged the car to make it even better, and it was perfect. IMO if you want a real BMW experience buy a 540i xDrive or a 530d xDrive with as much equipment as possible. Else, buy a Mazda....not to mention that the Mazda is waaaaaaay cheaper and you really really get a lot out of it

I just feel like for how much more they want for that BMW it should be much better than the Mazda… but it’s not. It’s almost like the only advantage in the BMW is the ride quality and barely the handling. BMW requires premium fuel in it whereas the Mazda doesn’t yet of you put premium in the Mazda it makes a teeny bit more power than that BMW. When you consider brands that specialize in offering more bang for your buck like Genesis, Acura or Mazda especially, base BMWs could be better.🤷‍♂️

The only thing that turns me off about the Mazda is that it is FWD, would have much preferred it if it was RWD. Also, it lacks remote start which is odd and I don't like the push button door handles, it would have been so much better if it had the handles that you just put your hand in the handle and it automatically unlocks like Ford, BMW and others have done. I'm also, not too crazy about the infotainment screen which is cheap looking and grainy, especially the reverse camera. On the other end of the spectrum, I don't like that BMW charges a monthly subscription for Apple Carplay and lacks Android Auto.

And since the new 3 has touch sensitive door handles you can bet the new one will as well along with the newer infotainment. As for remote start 🤷🏾‍♂️ I don’t know why Mazda don’t include that. Cameras should be better on the new car as well.

The Mazda 6 engine is a disaster. It is slow for its 2.5L size and not efficient either. This is something many car magazines have referred to but BMW engine is a class leader.

The engines in these two vehicles put out essentially the same amount of power

@@stevee8318 Power is just a numeric value on paper. The real performance is what happens in practice.

I started quite reluctantly researching vehicles as our 2008 was definitely in need of retiring to the local pastures of post office runs and quick Aldi runs. After ALL of those years of no car payment I was NOT a happy mama but I digress. I got preapproval on financing and started looking at mid size sedans and suvs and after driving a dinosaur for so long I was overwhelmed to say the least but the Mazda captured my attention right away. Definitely edging out Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Dodge and Chrysler....Ford and Chevy really wasn't interesting either after I looked at a Fusion and the Edge. I broke down and test drove both the CX5 and the 6 and wow...Needless to say there really is no decision to be made except which color. That red is a beauty and it is definitely in the lead ;)
