Amongst all the TRS Episodes we've ever done, this was truly a dream for me. Can't be more honoured and excited about having Sourav Ganguly on The Ranveer Show. His book "A Century Is Not Enough - Sourav Ganguly" is my all-time motivation. In this episode, I've specifically spoken about that one book that taught me the most crucial leadership lessons.
Sourav Ganguly, affectionately known as Dada, is an Indian cricket administrator, commentator, and former national cricket team captain who is the 39th and current president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). During his playing career, Ganguly established himself as one of the world's leading batsmen and also one of the most successful captains of the Indian national cricket team. He took the Indian cricket team to greater heights than anyone could imagine.
In this episode, we spoke about his new venture Dream Set Go, his love for football, the IPL, and of course, cricket. Even as a Bangladeshi, Dada has been one of my most favourite players. The fact that he chose Maradona over everybody tells me one thing. Dada loves a bit crazy player with attitude. That's why he brought the likes of Yuvraj, sehwag, bhajji etc and fought for them. What Dada did built the foundation for Dhoni to later success.
Maradona single handedly won the world cup for Argentina and made Napoli a renowned club worldwide dats the genius of this man hence I understand why Dada picks him above everyone else.. messi fans will bring the records into play but bear in mind legends like Zidane, Maradona who bring international glory to their countries are more important than personal glories..

I am soo lucky that I got to see both of them (Dada and Diego) to play together at our school. When I was in class 5, they came to the stadium of our school at Kolkata (Aditya Academy). I still remember the craziness everyone had at that moment.

And Messi has won everything except a world cup. Maradona was not consistent, not a disciplined professional. Messi is what Maradona could have been if he had been well disciplined.
@@seasonaltheology8314 well i am a cricket fanatic i don't know about football much but my father said and also dada himself said in many programs that world cup is the biggest thing and till Messi wins a world cup he can't be compared to Maradona yes Messi is much more disciplined and humble but in terms of sheer raw skills maradona is unparalleled even my physical education teacher also said the same thing like i will talk from cricket's point of view why virat's captaincy was criticized he was winning games but he was unable to win a world cup or not just world cup but any trophy but yeah Messi's record is still much better than virat he has still won many cups not like virat with no cups but yeah he has to win the biggest thing the fifa world cup to be at the same level with Maradona
@@aratrikghosh2717 Messi was really close to winning one back in 2014. Argentina finished as runners up. Messi has won everything with Barcelona. In terms of club football, personal accolades Messi is way better than Maradona but when it comes to international football Maradona is better.

Every generation romanticises things/people and music from their own. For Me; with the athleticism, intensity and social media pressure on players plus bigger stadiums, better pitches, great training for everyone and video tapes decoding every last bit of skill - Messi is the greatest footballer of all time. I might be wrong since Maradona was absolutely clutch in those World Cup games, but the longevity and the sheer number of crazy things Messi has done in his career makes him absolutely unreal and he will probably do a lot more in the next couple of years too.
Bro I agree Messi is one of the GOATS but u have to understand in those days the game used to me more tough, the recovery of the players took long time as medical facilities were not as good as present that's why careers ended prematurely for so many great players as they didn't have proper facilities like today. There was no VAR and defenders used to be brutal and physical.
I think it's not fair to compare players from different generations because of varying external factors

When you break that generation barrier and see that from a wider lens, Maradona is the greatest without the doubt. Given how Messi is protected by those around and his own docile nature, Maradona is ahead by leaps and bounds. The guy was ravaged by the opposition like probably no other player in history where the surface and playing conditions were hell plus his own biggest enemy which was Maradona himself.
