l was also thinking there might be so wire or what ever in those high weeds......Thanks Nathan 👍
Really old Shoe🇺🇸
Nathan, one of the main reasons that I watch your channel is that you are always investing money back into your business instead of spending it on frivolous expenditures. That’s the mark of a smart and successful businessman.
I could not have said it better myself!!!! Reinvest in yourself instead of giving the gov your money and increase your net worth
I hope I live long enough to shake your hand. Watching your videos just makes a guy feel good.
I have a few years on you, so let me assure you, your plan for a large hardware inventory is going to be a Godsend.
A good mechanic ALWAYS reads the instructions AFTER assembling anything to make sure they done it right. ;)
We got our metric bolt selection from an automotive repair shop that closed.
Five buckets of metric freebies. 😂
I like that .50 cal chain box. My chains stay in the bed of the truck and are rusty as heck. I need to drag them down a dirt road and clean 'em up a bit.
Yeah, you are correct a bolt bin is invaluable. I keep a selection of nuts, bolts, washers, screws, plumming fittings and electrical parts. When I need say 6 of a particular bolt I just buy the box instead of the individual bolts, that way I build my stock. I live 10 miles from the nearest hardware store. Another thing I do is when I'm going to junk something I remove as many of the bolts and any other parts as may be of use and add them to my stash. Needless to say not much of my junk winds up actually going to the scrap yard because I'm also a blacksmith and welder.
when in doubt, read the instructions. words of wisdom
Nathan, one of the best learning tools is making mistakes, fixing the mistake and moving on. I can tell you this, I have taught myself A LOT in the past 75 years!
I have an idea for mowing the overgrowth on the new property. Make some stakes from poor-quality lumber and paint the non-pointed end red or wrap it in flagging tape. Find the stream and walk its length, placing the rods at regular intervals, around bends, etc. This way you can mow up close to the stream without the tractor going into the water. Merry Christmas from a fan in Canada.
Nathan I would recommend to get some Stainless Steel washers, nyloc nuts, nuts and loc washers with your hardware cabinet as well…. Ironcraft makes good attachments I have a few for my skid steer
Nathan, I think your Red tailed hawk is actually aTurkey vulture. Your chickens are safe unless one of them dies.
I believe at one point in time you had a Titan tree post puller. I would try it before renting the mini ex on some of those smaller trees especially after the rain. The rain should help soften them up for pulling them out. Hope you and the family had a Merry Christmas also.
Nathan a small investment for the farm is a set of slippers for your forks
Reminded me of one of my Dad’s frequent sayings “when all else fails, read the directions”. Loved the new tractor and brush hog! It was so quiet. Happy New Year!
Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner, both tractor w/bush hog & truck fit. All in all, a great day Nathan, you are blessed.
I, personally am glad you showed the Bolt And Nut drawer system, I have been FIRST looking for a company to buy "quantity" of hardware like nuts and bolts from, AND THEN, having an organizing system as well gives me a lot of ideas on how to set up my shop!! I own a very small work space so WHAT you are showing us.....helps guys like me a lot!!! That is why I love channels like this!!! And that is also why I enjoy your videos so much, because channels LIKE YOURS gives me ideas and information I could use to set up my own shop!!! In fact there isn't a lot of video on MY CHANNEL about my shop currently, BUT I do have a video posted about the shop I work out of which is an 8 foot by 8 foot tool shed in the mobile home park I live in!! I am hoping to create more videos soon, as I am right now looking to upgrade my computers, AND video cameras for recording....so I think next year 2024 is going to feature a lot more content from me!!!!
Nice!
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼………………………………………………………………I’ve put in two transfer tanks in two different trucks. Make sure you put the rubber strips under it, keeps it quiet and keeps it from rubbing on the floor of the bed.
Warm and sky is full of Chemtrails
You can also purchase open bins for nuts and bolts at Harbor freight, but it doesn’t include any nuts or bolts. Tractor Supply sells screws, nuts, and bolts by the pound, instead of small expensive packages.
that extra land wit barn is very nice extra for you, thanks for showing both sides of doing things on the farm
Not that you wouldn't want a tank in your truck for fueling up things but many have went to the new fuel trailers. Maybe you could get someone to give/loan you one like the others. It would be great to have a tank on the property so you don't have to use cans or run your diesel transfer tank dry all the time. Of course you could just put a 500-1,000 gallon tank. They even have a smart fill (electronic tank level indicator) devise that sends the company a signal that tells them how much fuel you have left so they can fill it, but it may not be practical for a small operation. Have a good one that new tank in the pick up will be nice to have no matter what you do.
Lots of people love to watch tractor videos to hear the equipment, NOT music.
Live down here in Florida and deal with a lot of small trees in my pastures. Get your largest chain with hooks on both ends, make 2 or 3 wraps of the chain around the tree(3ish inches or less). Hook the chain to the tractor and ease off, tree and most of the roots will come right out of the ground. Saves a lot of money on rental equipment. Merry Christmas to You and Your Family, Danny
That's how I pull fence posts and small trees.
We had a Wonderful Christmas! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Stay Safe and Well.
Great to see so many pieces falling into place for you Nathan! Merry Christmas and I hope it was a good one for you and family. We had a great day here and the grilled steaks I got from the local butcher hand cut were delicious!
Same to you!
Always fun with new toys.
You might consider taking a walk on the new place with a metal detector Nathan, so you can find the fence before your new bush hog does.
Park your brush hog on a couple of short 4x4s ( or whatever you have). It will make it a lot easier to slide it around to hook up!
👍👍
After reading your suggestion, my little light bulb flickered for a second, some smoke came out, then I slapped myself on the forehead. Great suggestion
That amo case is a great idea to store them chains in!
For $50 to$70 you can get a tree grabber and pull those trees out by the roots with your front end loader. No digging and no back filling.
Bought a tree grabber, $100 @ tractor supply, used it to pull 400 wooden fence post out. Worked well, this new loader should have capacity necessary. As for small trees, the root system can be an issue, the trunk diameter appeared @ 4" or greater??
Sounds like my way of doing things - cheap and easy !! LOL !!
Nathan wrap a chain around the trees a pull them out, I cleared an old 5.5 acre field like that. I did have to get a back hoe for the bigger black walnuts though.
I ignore the time-change and carry on as usual but I am retired so do not have to worry about it. The hawk was using a thermal to gain height.
Mistakes just make you human, nothing broke didn't loose any body parts it's all good. First time mowing an area put your bucket in float tilt your leading edge up about 1 inch off the ground drive slow you'll be good
@Nathan would be curious to see how the attachment used for pulling stakes. Works on those saplings.
Having learned from my own mistakes (sometimes after repeating them) it seems to me that making mistakes and recovering from them makes really interesting content. 👍🏼
Your hydraulic fence post puller might pull those trees out fairly well..
Here in Texas we call RedTails “Chicken Hawks”. We lost several chickens to them. Between those and raccoons, they put us out of the chicken business.
the best toys...Lord Nate you rock. use grease on the barn doors
Quite an acquisition ! Beautiful barn.
Hawk sounds just like an airplane 😂
Nathan, make a fastener drawer purchase with Metric sizes. Trust Me
"Voila!" 😄👍
Too true! My Dad had a 5gl bucket of bolts...My Grandpa had a 2 1/2gl bucket of bolts
..I have BOLT BINS!
If.....your toolbox adapter bracket gets loose, or the 1/4" bolts break......get you a couple of 8mm X 1.25 bolts about 25mm long and use those threaded holes directly instead of "nut and bolt". The holes you have run the 1/4" bolts through are threaded for 8mm X 1.25 thread bolts.
Ty
Pull the trees it’s best way by far
I do like that new land and barn. That will be a good thing for you. And Nathan that is a nice tractor. That in bed fuel tank will be nice too. Cool video 👍❤️
there is an attachment for your skid steer to pull those trees Daniel Arms has a nice one
I've never seen using an AMMO-BOX to store chains. What a great idea. To all who maybe reading this post, if your chains are soaking wet, let them dry before putting in an ammo box, because the box has a water-tight seal, and the chains will stay wet for a much longer time, then you may desire. Nathan, some thing I've have seen before, depending on the INSIDE-DIAMETER (3"in. being the more desirable,) of the "CROSS-BRACE-TUBE," just behind the loading bucket, some people store a "work-chain," length subject to owners taste, and Convenience of install & removal of said chain.
Storing chains in ammo cans has been a common
thing for a whooooole lot of years. Probably since
the cans were first produced. 😁✌🖖
I'd try the attachment you bought for pulling the fence posts on those trees, especially if it will fit the skidsteer. Or you could cut them and leave enough sticking up to grab, then keep bumping them with the skidsteer bucket to loosen them enough for the loader on the tractor to pull them out
Try your fence puller on the pears
Happy Christmas to you & your family members & all the very best wishes are sent for the new year..
You are doing a fantastic job..
Kindest regards are sent from Yorkshire.
Steven. 😢
Awesome !
I cuts good Nathen. Almost like a finish mower.
Nathan - It is really good to see things shaping up for you around your place(s). All your planning and hard work are paying off. Great job! Thank you for taking us along on your journey to the future.
Nice addition the new tractor and bush hog. Wonder if the grapple will pick up those trees like the fence posts?
I dont know how much rain you got Christmas day it rained here ALL day in rock island
I am very surprised that the lift arm balls on the 5835 are not double drilled for Cat II & Cat I. It is very common place for all "small" lift arm balls to be double drilled (I/0) or (II/I).
That's a smart system.Thank you
Merry Christmas Nathan! You might use Mr.Kato with your fence post puller to pop out those little trees.
I think you need a Metric bolt assortment ASAP I think your tractors are all metric , Thanks for the videos you do a great job . A happy and healthy New Year
We had a pigeon hole rack we made to store and sort all the varieties of nuts, washers and bolts of assorted lengths in the shop on the farm. Another source to get nuts and bolts without leaving the house is Fastenal. There are several Fastenal stores locally and they deliver. And there is always Tri-state Bolt & Screw in Johnson City for a local mom and pop option. Always been a believer in keeping money local.
Hi Nathan, great video as always. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year from a very wet and windy Glasgow Scotland. Currently, the temperature here is around 36 degrees farnheight.
Great video!
Sharp looking attachment and glad it fits snugly in the new barn. And that WD-40 did a great job on that door. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Another awesome video 😎🏜🐶 catching up on my afterhours viewing 😂 you need to save the Joe Maine turbo blades for cutting the watermelons 🍉 on the saw ❤
Thanks Joe Appreciate you!
Brother, bought my mower used. The guy had had it refurbished. Kicker was the linkage was close, except when I raised the the 3pt hitch, the mower wouldn’t raise it up. The had done it backwards. Just took removing one bolt, letting the linkage drop down then reinstall the bolt. So close and no cigar
Bigger toolbox, "Spud Wrench" package of assorted lynch pins. 20 ft of baling wire, pliers or fence pliers.
Pull the slow vehicle triangle, put the toolbox on the back, behind the seat. Mount the triangle to the toolbox.
Remember...
Never weld on or drill the ROPS. They are expensive to replace and your trade value is $0 if the ROPs is altered. The dealers don't want to see a modified ROPS.
Attach with U bolts arount the ROPS.
Not a good idea to weld or drill on the loader frames either...
Thanks Friend, for the honesty. Also I can’t help but notice, it’s been a long time since you told us how much you like Mr kato .. lol
i went with ammo can tool box
Would your fence post puller attachment for Mr. Kato work for pulling some of the small trees?
Nathan may your installation of the fuel tank go well because that way you’ll be able to fill up the new tractor 😮😊❤
Nathan, don't you have an attachment for the tractor that you used to pull fence post. Just wondering if that would work to pull those little trees so you don't have to dig each out.
Merry Christmas Nathan! I really enjoy the variety of your content and the un-sponsored honesty that you give toward all of your equipment reviews while you are using your equipment!! Hoping that you and your family have a healthy and prosperous New Year!!
ty
Merry Christmas and happy new year, from my family to you and yours.
Same to you!
Somebody to drive it😂.
I Nathan you have a very nice Chevy.
Nice video 🚜🗽🇺🇸🛐💡
Thanks for sharing with us Nathan, looks like it will work on that tractor and you got it parked in the barn okay too. Stay safe and we will watch you putting the transfer tank in the pick up when you post that video. Fred.
I don't need bolts and nuts too often but I had to buy the same thing. Just so much more convenient. Sucks how expensive they are but worth it.
Happy New Year Nathan! Bush Hogg looks great on new tractor. Don't forget to fold mirrors in when you go to back truck out after your install.
I would be like forgetting to lower tailgate when un hitching gooseneck trailer, My son did that once didn't do it again after that LOL John Toccoa GA
Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. Thankyou for the interesting and informative content throughout the year, I have really enjoyed your many adventures and purchases throughout 2023. Wishing you and your family a healthy and prosperous 2024. Best wishes from the UK.
hello Nathan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool Thanks Nathan Friends Randy & Happy New Year's & Best in New Year's 2024 Nathan Thanks Friends Randy
Well done. Enjoy!
Thanks, will do!
i did the same thing in the early 90s
Merry Christmas, Nate!!
Why can’t the fence post puller take out the small trees?
Bolts & Nuts has a great system and makes it very EZ to retstock.
I think a brush cutter for Mr Kato would’ve made the job much easier/quicker. And you wouldn’t have been twisting around to see what you’re cutting.
Still, new tractor set up looks good.
With no door on Mr Kato the last thing want is a brush mower or mulcher. You're right though would be faster
I could have all the nuts and bolts in the world except the one I need. That’s usually the way it is for me. Nice shop and tractor!
Thanks 👍
Nice of you to mention Colonial Hts hardware, the local chemical plant had a good selection if you know what I mean. Just kidding. Enjoyed your CZcams
You mentioned being scolded for using WD-40 on the door runners. The tech who repaired my garage door opener said to use WD on the chain runner so that does say something. I do prefer DuPont Teflon spray for most everything due to the fact that it doesn't attract dust/dirt like WD-40 does and it doesn't stain paint as much. Just my opinion.
I'm liking that gnu tractor. It looks like the new brush hog is going to work fine. When covering new ground where I didn't know what I'd find I would go a little ways with the hog and either get down and have a look beyond or turn around and run the bucket into the uncut brush to check for the unknown dangers. I liked the bucket way best.
Enjoy yourself with your new property and upgrades you are planning.
jack
Look into a Forestry Mulcher. Watched some guys clearing a building lot with one and it was amazing. Pushed the small trees over and ate them like a chipper and ripped up the stumps and ground them at the same time. Left the chips there to improve the soil. They can be rented. Hope you have had a great Christmas and Happy new Year.
It snowed here in eastern Nebraska😊
68 here today
Happy for you Nathan
Hi Nathan, ended the video, really liking the more Tractor, impressed that everything first, it’s almost as if it was planed!
Great video, Nathan!👍🏻
Happy new year from Sweden
Merry Christmas !!!
