Transfer pump In video: amzn.to/3tJHIea
Transfer Tank: amzn.to/3RYFZet
Those are some mean looking teeth Mr. Kato got. What a smile.
Good advice on neighbours. Lady next door was getting rid of some old furniture, so I lent a hand taking it outside. She's always been there for me. Got me some free of charge high density MDF cabinet doors and drawers. Not exactly quality wood but great for my scale dioramas and vignettes. Plus, made my neighbour happy by clearing the house.
Have a great 2024, Nathan.
I don’t care what anyone says…whatever you are doing …it is interesting. Projects or sawing. Love a
ALL your videos!😊
Thank you very much!
Nice install, looks good and sure will be handy! The grapple on Mr. KATO will be worth its weight in gold. Take care buddy!
Thanks 👍
I think your videos are amazing. Especially ones that show more than just sawing. Keep up the amzing work Nathan and stay dusty!
Thanks 👍
I never knew what a ty-wrap is before I got into commercial aircraft maintenance. Then I found out I’ve used them all my life! 😂 The diesel tank is a good idea… bet it comes in handy. Thanks for the content sir!
thanks for watching
Nathan - out of curiosity, did you consider the use of a combined fuel tank / toolbox unit to save bed space? I got tired of lost truck bed space using a similar setup to yours in a short-bed pickup several years back.
Nathan that Kato skid steer is a nice one and that grapple will come in handy. I have used mine a lot. I do like that fuel tank and pump as well. Cool video. 👍❤️
Happy New Year 2024 my resolution this year is to try real hard to catch your lives on Sunday night at least one a month if possible. Nice job on the tank installation. 🤠
Happy new year!!🎆
Both of those items worked out beautifully. Mr. Kato will do any job now. Thanks for sharing with us Nathan. Stay safe and have fun. Fred.
New year - new toys. Stay safe.
That grapple worked great. Very nice!
Happy New Year Nathan
U2
Congratulations on your new equipment and install , good job 👍
Thanks 👍
Nathan the deisel transfer tank is going to be very convenient for the new property clearing that will be going on 😮😊❤
I think so too!
Yep, been there done the fishing and figuring
Happy new year, friend.
Happy new year
I like your grapple. I made one that opens about 5' so I can lift hay or lots of brush. Mine is similar to yours when closed. You can leave it closed and skim the ground for small brush and the top part will "hold" the brush until you have a bunch when you can open, catch & lift the pile. Leaving this closed will minimize the depth the "tines" can dig into the dirt. Enjoy!
Believe it or not, there is a brand new 2022 Kato cl35 on machinery trader for $42,000 with zero hours , there was a couple of more real as well, almost new …I’ve been intrigued by your skid loader since I’ve watched this show, I have a bobcat with tracks.. Kato actually bought out IHI, which was a big equipment company based out of Japan
Mr Kato is a beast, the tank will help you out way more on the farm,
P.s. I had to stop myself from waving back, I really do enjoy the video thanks Nathan.

👋
Hi ya Nathan from Assie. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, an you all have a safe and prosperous 2024. I would shift that filter - a bit close to that very expansive glass. When you empty the tank, stopping in a hurry could make life a little exciting. Regards.
I had a 6.2L in an 82 Jimmy, it was an absolute beast, on sand or hills, nice install.
Mr.Kato & Grapple are awesome.....Thanks Nathan 👍
Old F-4 Shoe🇺🇸
Always a pleasure to watch a laid back guy get things done. Great channel.
Thanks for watching
More great camera setups. I think you're getting the hang of this now, Nathan.
This is a great investment in your back. I have seen many men pull their back muscles handling 5 gallon cans of fuel especially when it's cold outside. I have learned the best way to get rid of old wire is to dig at least a 8 foot hole and bury it. Have fun and stay safe!
Great point!
"Big bite" power tool!! That looks like a good acquisition for sure
Handy transfer pump and good grapple. Nice to have good equipment.
It sure beats pushing a pump’s hand lever back and forth.
hello Nathan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool Thanks Nathan Friends Randy
Good gear, would put a short protective sleeve on both hoses where they contact tank & toolbox. 👍The grapple looks like a goodun.
Very nice grapple. I like that transfer pump too.
thanks Richard,
Nathan, Did you hear how that pump pulls down when you pull the handle to pump? That suggests a positive displacement pump and takes quite a bit of current to keep the pump flowing. IF 30 amps is what it takes to protect fulling stalling out the pump without melting the wiring, 10 gauge wire is the size for 30 amp circuits. Sorry, I was nerding out for a moment. lol. Great video.
Nathan 😉
@@Ubotit_Unaymit Yep, I changed it.
Nice setup
Thanks!
Track loader and grapple was the best thing we ever bought. Cat 299C and Cat grapple. We've done clearing for 50 years and the loader is a must
Fill rite pumps on all the trucks too
sounds like a nice set up
@@OutoftheWoods0623 beats the heck out of a dozer and brush rake
Howdy
Hey!!!!!
Great video!
Thanks!
Mr. Kato has teeth! Big old gnarley teeth. Nathan, you might want to take a look at the grapple hose line routings. They seem to be hanging out there just begging to get ripped. We managed to route the hoses inboard of the lift arms on our ASV. Just a thought.
I have a similar transfer tank and it took me a little bit to figure out a couple issues. I started finding water in my filters and it took me a few tanks from different stations to find out that rainwater was getting into the tank around the threads where the pump mates with the tank even with gasoila thread sealer and pump spun down tight. So I sealed it up tight with permatex as a thread sealer, and evidently I sealed it so well that the 15GPM pump would pull the long wall of the tank in with a loud pop because of the vacuum in the tank. All of that to learn to just crack the filler cap a 1/4 turn before running the pump. Sorry for the essay.
Good to know
Ever think looks good from North Carolina as long as Mr. KATO is ok with it.
The more you show that machine, the more I like it!
More to come!
Hi Nathan, I'm 65 years. My early memories of my great mother included, 'idle hands'. Well, You all get the rest. Let's get busy !
Thanks
Well said!
The new grapple is impressive.
NOW Thats a nice looking grapple 👍
agreed.
Looks good Nathan …. Putting diesel in the tank was the only painful part of the install….🇺🇸👊🏼
Would be great to add a flow meter (gallons) to know how much you pumped into the equipment and to know how much fuel is left in the tank
All Prohos should own a fish tape in my opinion. Super handy.👍🏻
Happy New Year Nathan. I was thinking that maybe installing a shutoff switch in the cab of your truck would keep someone from turning on the diesel pump and stealing your diesel. There are people that would do just that.
it has a lockout on it, just need to put on a lock, I hear ya
Don't use a master lock, LPL uses them to show beginners how to pick a lock with junk and trash. @@OutoftheWoods0623
Happy new year Nathan small correction buddy A "Tabogan" is a type of sled. Your hat is a touque (Pr TUKE) French heritage 8th generation Vermonter and lived in Quebec 2 yrs- Tyler
down here its a hat, thanks for watching
here in MO too it is a hat@@OutoftheWoods0623
That wire is large due to the type of current used in most cars and trucks, Direct Current (DC). That is another reason there is such a large wire comming off the battery. Pulling 30 amps DC through a smaller wire could turn it into a heating element and or cause a fire.
The reason the wire to your diesel pump is 10 guage is because evidently your pump requires for use more than 20 amperes of current flow. Wire is rated primarily for current carrying capacity and American Wire Guage(AWG) shows safe for 30 amperes 10 AWG. AWG codifies current carrying capacity based upon the cross-sectional area of the wire. AWG allows for 20 amperes for 12 guage wire, and 30 amperes for 10 guage.
Now, the pump apparently requires more than 20 amperes to operate. At full rated current of 30 amperes, and a 12 volt supply, your pump requires 360 watts of power to work. The actual requirement is something less than that, but that's what the wire will allow. There are about 750 watts to the horsepower--746 to be exact, but 750 is usually easier to work in your head-- and 360 divided by 750 will yield the horsepower rating of your pump; 0.48 HP or about 1/2 horsepower. I delineate this to provide another form of comparison perhaps more familiar to you. This is a way to compare the power of your pump to gasoline powered equipment.
I bring this to your attention because the FUSE HOLDER PIGTAIL you wired into your pump's electrical circuit appears to use a less than 10 guage wire. For reasons of safety, the wire along the entire length of your circuit must be equal to10 AWG, or more. If it is, please disregard this alarm I raise.
If the wire of the pigtail is 8 guage or larger, you can again ignore this alarm I raise.
HOWEVER, if the pigtail's guage of wire is greater than 10, say like 12 or 16, then I fear your fuse becomes less than effective or worse, totally ineffective. Instead of the fuse "blowing" and interrupting your circuit, the wires of the pigtail may overheat melting the plastic insulation, then possibly short to ground, each other, or melt the wire itself and split. The pigtail appears to lay over the top of the battery and should the battery vent hydrogen, well...I don't think I need describe that damage should a spark ensue.
I leave it to you to guage potential hazard for yourself, and investigate further if you think it warranted. Were it me I don't think I would have used that particular fuse holding pigtail. The automotive store can supply you with a suitable fuse holder pigtail or fuse block for that current requirement, just state the need for 30 amps.
Just so you need not panic, this is only an issue while the pump operates so it's safe to drive until a replacement may be had. Should you want to feel doubly sure, simply remove the fuse from the holder.
. I put my meter on it. Pump is pulling 8 amps so I was right about the large wire being too big.
Thanks for watching
Looks like some grip tape on the side area of the new grapple, to compliment the tread area in the middle. I thought that would be too long of a step in.
Amazing guut 👍❤❤❤🙏
Always fun to watch someone attach a fuel-air explosive device just behind the cab of the truck they're sitting in. What could go wrong?
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
You are so right, If you want good neighbors be a good neighbor.
Regarding the pump wiring
If it was my truck I would have used heat shrink tubing instead of tape
It still appears to be possible to make this change if you want
Doing so will prevent your wires from corrosion and the inevitable salt that you will see this winter
Only a mechanics suggestion you can do as you wish
I also would've grounded the pump as close to the pump as possible instead of to the negative battery post
@@jauthement he grounded it to the bed
Did you add a ground strap from the frame that rubs the ground. I have installed many of this type of tanks. NAPA has these straps.
Sorry if you covered this and I missed it, but what sort of security is on this diesel tank? What's to stop some jerk from stealing your fuel with your own pump? Thx.
"Let Mr Kato warm up before we put Her to work"..... 😄
That Mr.Kato. He's a worker.
Thanks, got those Pics! nice project with that Oak!
@@OutoftheWoods0623 Thanks. Got the caster wheels on today.
I saw a strange sawmill on the internet, Mahoe minimax sawmill from New Zealand.
hmmmmm
I bought two shirts, one for my son and one for myself! I'm doing my part to promote your channel Nathan!
Awesome! Thank you!
put the grapple away put the post puller on a get that job done in half the time then put grapple back on clean up all that mess up in one pass!
Curious about having the fill on the opposite side of the truck fill.
makes no difference, the pump that fills my truck does not fill my transfer tank, two different types of diesel, off road,
Looks a p3retty good grapple to me Nathan, very sturdy which means it should serve you well in all your many needs on your two properties. Chee23rs, Don from South Australia.
Do you have a link for Iron Craft attachments?
RE: The Pump: I'd rather have the manufacturer of a high draw device include oversized rather than undersized cable for their devices! 30 amp @ 12 volt should be 10 gauge wire at least. Your spliced in wire is not going to be able to handle that amount or very long... (and yes, that kit should have included a fuse)
Is there a level gauge on the tank?
Doubt it
Does the nozzle interfere with opening the crossbed box
it does not but boy it was close
Use the grapple to clear the new field then cut it
I hope there’s some sort of lock on that as that’ll be empty in seconds.
Yep
Do you think a hose guard would be a good idea?
nah, all my other grapples are good without them, just have to watch what you are doing,
I was thinking of the transfer tank hose.
Hey Nathan. I would like to watch your live stream but it just so happens that 8:00 isn't a good time. Any chance I could talk you into waiting till 8:30? Love your content Brother. Keep up the great work.
were usually still going at 830, stop on by
👋🏻
10 gauge wire and 30 amp fuses go together. Even your 120 volt house voltage would require this match.
My ADHD just went into overdrive......a filter unit that isn't plumb....odd angle night sweats 😂😂😂
lol
I was wondering if you could buy off rode diesel and save on the cost of the diesel like a person can do in Montana?
yes, they were closed that day
Do you have the red, off road diesel , available or do you need a special permit there? Save you some money on the road use tax.
Does the auxiliary tank have a fuel gauge on it?
it does not
10 ga is the correct size .. Get extra fuses to have on hand ,, Ya never know when you`ll need one ...
Is it cod oh or kay toe? 😅
I thought a toboggan was something you ride on the snow
I hear that often but down here its a hat,
Maybe it's something that you wear on your head WHILE you ride on the snow! I'm from western Canada and up here we would call it a Toque or a knit cap.
What about theft from your tank? Can you cover the pump and lock it?
Has a lock
👍
Put me in mind of Pac-Man. 😄
Can people in Canada buy a hoodie from your store ? There’s other channels that we can’t, US only. It’s just too much work for me to sell out house here and move to the states so I can get a hoodie. Lol
yes they will ship them anywhere,
Invest in quality tools.
Words to live by.
agreed
Per AC 43.13-1B Figure 11-3, 14VDC 30Amp, 10 gauge wire is correct. I personally would have gone 8 gauge.
How much does a fill up cost?!
I don't want to say lol
I have 3 words for you Nathan: Chicken Coop Siding
lol I know I know
You could have put the road diesel in your truck. 20 20 hindsight.

Ouch 40 gallons of diesel! Now that will chew a hole in a credit card, even if it is agricultural diesel!

Actually I was wondering why you were paying road use tax for fuel to be used in your equipment.
tym tractor
Works pretty good, except it makes a lot of unnecessary racket. lol
lol I thought so too, chickens didn't like it either,
Sounds more like a gas powered pump than an electric one. Might be a resonance thing that could be mitigated with a thicker, isolating gasket.
pump you put on the wrong side
nahhh
