Pretty much anyone else who was sitting in that circle had a better story than Bran. He basically did nothing to earn it besides falling out of a tower, having other people drag him across the frozen north, two dying in the process (lets not even go into the whole Hodor thing), screwing up in the whole training to be the 3 eyed raven due to once again not listening and then playing bait during a battle. Oh and I guess he was there in time to drive that oh so convenient wedge between Dany and Jon, you know to subvert our expectations. You know what makes it worse, is that by the end I simply could could not stand the surviving members of the family I was originally cheering for (The Starks).

After fighting the White Walkers and the dead and killing Daenerys in the last episode, his purpose was served. A solution that ended the problem in a way that people no longer needed to be saved. The only natural thing was for him to go beyond the Wall, and Bran knew that so he sent him there.
Him going to the wall was stupid!!! For one technically he's still king of the north. N the unsullied left for narth so really he could do what ever he wanted. N what happened to all the scrolls vary's sent telling everyone who Jon really is? N was never brought up! D&D did a shit job absolutely ruined what was the greatest show on tv.
@@johncherwaty2261 He was not King in the North, and he held no power. But most importantly it wasn't a punishment. Jon had a chance to find happiness among the people he belong.
Moreover, it was always obvious that Bran is schemeing against Jon and Daenerys. He didn't care about anyone, yet he was eager to explore Jon's past and tell him the truth, that helped to antagonize Daenerys and resulted Bran's reign. The same apply to Azor Ahai's legend. Many characters believed in it, the audience believed in it, also the Night King believed in the legend. He didn't risk the fight with Jon Snow face to face, and the NK believed he dealt with the champion of the Lord of Light and let his guard down in the final moment.
Not the writers' fault if the audience not capable to see behind the curtains and realise Brandon Stark was the puppet master all along.
@ you read an awful lot between the lines. N thats excatly my point. In previous seasons what happened in S10 would have taken place over 3 different seasons not rushed n cramed into one season. Thats why everyone loved GOT. We fell in love with the characters n there dialogue. Everything was done with such detail n no matter what happened weather we loved it or hated it we weren't left guessing saying wtf! We didnt have to read between the lines or fill in the blanks. Maybe if the story ended after they told the story we might not have all been happy, because we didnt like what might of happened to one or two of our fav characters but we still would have been satisfied. N it still was GOT

I just realised that Jon Snow has inherited the best of both of his parents treats. Rhaegars swordmanship and kindness to the common folk. Lyanna's horsemanship, swordmanship and sought spot for the weaker people. His adoptive father Eddard surely learned him the Northern way. A Targaryen/Stark with the Honor of the Northmen and the Fiery fighting spirit of the Targaryens.

For some reason this phrase feels extremely powerful, even among other epic lines in the video... I think it's because instead of following the king, which is usually just a obligation, we are asked to follow our COMMANDER, which feels like a more personal connection to him.

The One True Joker very similar to his plot with Ygritte. He has always been a fool in love. In the end he makes the right choice tho. Same with Dany
Calvionne County yes, but even with Ygritte he always put his duty before her. He went back to the Nights Watch as soon as he was able and if it were a true parallel with Dany, then would never have let her do the things she did.
They didn't just ruin his character They ruined what was the greatest show on television! I'm still pissed off now when i think about it. I thought S7 was bad. But S8 they took it to a hole other level of bad!

The Night King, a being of absolute terror who grew more and more menacing each time I saw him. Killed off in the first half of a single episode. Why? Because of "subverting expectations." Screw all the build-up between John Snow and the Night King, how hyped everyone was to see those two duke it out.

Remember Varys's words to Tyrion about Dany? "A ruler loved by millions with a powerful army and the right family name". Jon is going to become qualified to this definition of ruler. He has a powerful army, he's loved by many (Night's Watch, wildlings, northerners and maybe even the Vale in the future) and he has the option to take the right family name, which is Stark (since he's not yet aware of his Targaryen herritage). He's a lot like Ned. All these games of politics means nothing to him, he didn't proclaimed himself king but was proclaimed by others, his one desire is to defeat the White Walker and bring peace to the realm and the world.

He didn't avenge the red wedding at all.. The Freys, Roose Bolton and Tywin Lannister are guilty of that. In fact, I think Ramsay was at Winterfell at the time of the Red Wedding wasn't he? Let's see.. who else did Jon kill to avenge the Red Wedding, maybe Roose? Nope, killed by Ramsay. Tywin? Nope, killed by Tyrion. Walder Frey (& co)? Nope killed by Arya. I think the part where they claim Jon "avenged the red wedding" was just lazy writing in an otherwise nice episode. For some reason they forgot the entire "North Remembers" storyline and figured they'd get off easy.
Don't dwell too hard on it. The Red Wedding was the definitive fall of the Starks and Winterfell, the Battle of the Bastards put the Starks back at their rightful place. That's what they meant by "Jon Snow avenged the Red Wedding".
Jon Snow is not just a character; he is an emotion.

The funny thing about Jon is that even though he's not Ned's son, of all the Stark brothers, he's the one closest to Ned in terms of character and morals. I really don't care who is father was, he'll always be a Stark in my book.

I think Ned and Jon both learned their valor and honor from being humble and having strength in their convictions. Neither of them ever expected to have the positions of power they ended up with. Brandon Stark was always destined to be Warden of the North and Lord of Winterfell. Ned was always the one who was "expendable" to the family and seemed fine with that. He was not important enough to be watched and thrust into positions of responsibility as often as his brother but not so unimportant that they ignored him and was given training and education that served him later.
I can't remember if it was when Brandon died that Ned was spirited away to the Vale of Arryn with Robert Baratheon or if it was before that, when he was given to Jon Arryn as a ward. Either way, Jon Arryn left a lasting impression on him. Stood with the North and Stormlands when they rebelled against the Mad King. Ned named his sister's son after Jon Arryn. A child I'm sure he loved very much and even broke his honor to protect, by lying about his parentage and making it look like he had broken his vowels to Catelyn, and he valued his honor above all other traits he possessed.

It's amazing how much like Ned Jon is. Nothing Jon has done reminded me more of Ned than when Jon told Cersei he had already sworn fealty to Dany. It was like Ned was standing in the middle of that dragon pit. It's amazing how similar they are. Especially considering their biological relationship.

I think people overlook what Ned did, though. Maester Aemon asked if Ned Stark would choose family/love or honor to which Jon Snow replied that Ned would do what was right, no matter what. Such was Ned's reputation. But we now know that Ned Stark would, in fact, choose family/love over honor,.This is self-evident with the entire Jon Snow situation. Robb is very much like his father... except maybe he was a little too loose with the "rules". He chose love over honor but was too hasty about it.

It's so sad that the writers screwed almost everyone's arc, I really wanted something more from Jon as a Targaryen. Same with Night king and the only arcs that were good was cleganes arc and Theone's.

Agreed, they just used his heritage as a way to drive a wedge between him and Dany, which makes no sense because she has always felt like she was all alone, the last Targaryen. They also have Jon conveniently forget the line he gave to Theon, that he didn't have to choose. He could be a Greyjoy and a Stark. Well Jon turn that around for yourself bud. You don't have to choose either. You can be a Stark and a Targaryen and guess what you have a Targaryen relative who could teach you how to be a Targaryen. Marry, consolidate your claims and be done with it. They hyped up the Night King as this huge bad guy and then the whole battle just falls flat. Jon doesn't even get a decent fight with and ends up spending the ending of the battle just screaming at a dragon all while Arya (who has never even see this thing before) gets the moment. They used a throw away Mel line to say they foreshadowed that one. All of this was to "subvert our expectations". Well I guess mission accomplished, you certainly did that. We were expecting an ending that made a lick of sense.

Very few charachters have such good connection as John snow had.People had sympathy for the amount of pain and suffering he went throughout his life and still fought and never backed out,even if it cost his personal ones.His character is the story of those people who never give up even though life hasn't been kind to them.He was always different from group bcuz of his braveness,leadership and Honour .It was very emotional journey of his life ,from a steward to King in North.Jon snow hands down is the best charachter in Got imo.

I always tear up when I see Jon getting crowned king in the north, and in effect pretty much being recognized as a stark and lord of winterfell.... such a payoff for anybody whose both a Jon fan and stark fan like I am.
Jon Snow was the greateset TV Hero of the last Decade and they still did him dirty in the end, i hope House of the Dragon brings this Franchise back to life like Jon Snow.

I have no idea how many times I've watched this without leaving a comment. Its so satisfying seeing his character evolve from a boy in the background (early season 1) into one of the last main power players of the show. 6 seasons, and he's never stopped growing into the character!
BTW, This video is edited better than most blockbuster movie trailers, and I really hope the floodgates open and you can get job opportunities with it.
This one gave me fucking goosebumps..
What tops it off... a dragon screeching and a wolf howling at the end. So awesome. He owns Ghost who is so beautiful and cool and will get to meet Drogon soon. Best of both worlds. Imagine flying a dragon into battle igniting everywhere up with a wolf running alongside you. So fucking cool.
This gave me more than Goosebumps.. this gave me the FUKING FEELZ MAN (maybe cause Robb was my fav character)

It took me a while to warm to Jon. He is way way more than the brooding sad 'runt' from the start. He grows in skills, responsibility and authority beautifully. He's perhaps the only player who not only decides on doing the right/prudent thing at the right time, but who can also inspire loyalty rather than just fear. He also does what Stannis could not; he dismisses Melissandre when he learns of Shireen's burning, even after seeing her power and knowing how useful she could be. GRRM is painting a portrait of the perfect leader, I think. Someone who can keep his distance from those he rules whilst having their welfare as his constant objective. Someone devoted to honour and justice but not reckless with them. I love where it is going.

Love the dragon yell at the end, he's the white wolf and also the dragon of the north.
I like Jon because he learned how to ascend on his own without an important name carrying him to success. People keep him for his skills and personality, not just name like a bunch of characters. Would Jamie be so cool if he didn't get Lannister treatment his whole life? (I really like him though) Even with the Starks everyone kinda made situations awkward since they thought their dad cheated. After he did all this and found out his real lineage he elevated his badassery to a whole new level. I don't know how it'll end up, but I've been pulling for Jon since I first saw him.
