Damn he didn't have to do my boy Dean like that.
Derek Gleeson Turkey leg is disappointed that Jerry spoke disrespectfully towards his biggest fan Dean.
Poor dean
@Derek Gleeson crickey that was a jolly rude way to speak about dean what what what...
@@sacred1827 Blimey, Cup of tea? Jolly güd then. Jerry's gone pear shaped
@Derek Gleeson Turkey Leg would've preferred if Jerry didn't slight Dean during the interview. Happy?
The reporter had the fumiest line in the whole interview. Jerry: "No one watches DVDs anymore, I haven't seen a DVD player in 8 years" Reporter: "Well Deans got one"
That's just what i thought too! And the way she said it was perfect.
sorry, but Jerry's comment was funnier
The reporter is a passive-aggressive bitch whose on-camera technique is demeaning and/or provoking others. Being bitchy is funny sometimes. Its no wonder she's funny here & there. Otherwise, she's a full-out hack interviewer.
she stuck the landing
How the hell do you watch movies without a DVD player? Streaming sites have fuck all on them.
"I haven't seen a DVD player in 8 years"....."Dean's got one"....Priceless.
I'm with Dean on this one 👍
Actually bought a _new_ DVD player _this_ year and even the delivery driver was extremely opinionated about it!
Sheesh! 🙄
@@wavydavy9816
Why didn't you get a Blu-ray player?! It's much better quality!
@@lukasnummer1 DVD player was cheap as chips and it's only for my old DVDs. I'm too cheap for Blu-ray 😉 👍
Take it steady bud 🍻
Was this supposed to be an interview or an audit?
Well played, sir!
I don’t get why people think that. As a foreign interview for people who probably don’t know this man, mentioning his wealth especially cuz he’s probably a billionaire is customary, it’s what draws people in much of the time. Also thought she balanced other questions and topics in well
“20%?! That’s what YOU should be tipping!” Haha! Dying!
It's actually true, in 2019. Here in the States at least.
She should eat at soup kitchens.
i thought they gonna talk about the yada yada episode. Only remembered why i click it after the interview finished. :p
That's how the internet works now😕
same here..join the not the yadayada video club
lobster bisque anyone
Me too
yeah me too wth
I respect him a lot for not swearing in his act. Clean comedy is still comedy and it's still funny.
“The laughter all fake” false. Real crowd real laughs.
Laugh track.
Jason Alexander confirmed that they would only ever edit in a laugh track if it was to combine two different takes, but Jerry and Larry would only do that if they actually got the laugh from the audience
She's a bozo.
Jason Alexander confirmerd that if a scene did not get a laught they would rewrite scene until it got the laugh.
Jerky interview.
This woman is obsessed with Jerrys wealth
Yes, and Jerry would be just as happy without it.
P Pumpkin I HIGHLY doubt that
A woman obsessed with a man's wealth and status? NOoo?
It's so boring. Who cares about his cars or house or jet or whatever. Get him to talk about his work!
Of course she is !!!
She is an SJW Feminist Liberal.
got to stop you at 1:05 - do some research, the laughter is not fake, it was always filmed in front of a studio audience.
other than that good interview!!
Thats what I was thinking. Pretty sure they had the behind the series episodes that showed it was always studio audiences and they refused to put in fake laughter if I am not mistakened.
Yes, that ruined what was otherwise a pretty good interview. Although I also found the reference to Jerry’s “deep pockets” off-putting.
She was talking about the laughs from the actors
I once got into an argument about the show. He said it wasn't funny and what really put him off was the fake laugh-track. I couldn't convince him that the laughs were real. Reminds me of a scene from Seinfeld. "Jerry couldn't afford to have given his father a Cadillac. We've all seen his act."
He's slowly transforming into john travolta
You made me laugh out loud there! LOL cause I agree! Hahaha
nope :D
😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹
Props to Jerry to handling an interview that was unnecessarily accusatory and disrespectful
necessary for increasing spread and profit
not really. they were honest and interesting questions. jerry says strange stuff sometimes. I would have reacted like the interviewer. and it takes bravery to do that, against someone so big.
He's not a royalty, born into his position. Can't see why journalists are expected to kiss ass just because someone is a "celeb".
@@yoshi5547 the journalist was good, but JS is a master of deflecting questions while being entertaining
@sfairraid 13 Yeah, I must be, freak. That is an interesting question. For comedians, not cursing is a pretty bold decision. Because curse words/dirty stuff are really easy ways to get laughs.
Jerry is a beast during interviews and gets the dumbest questions.
These were NOT dumb questions.
I don’t care what Jerry says...Dean is awesome!
I love when Jerry talks about how much money he has. He's so real about it
The laughter wasn't fake, it was actually recorded on front of a live audience.
Came here to say this. Why did she say that? Sometimes when they were recording in front of the audience, the audience laughed so much they couldn't use the best take because you couldn't hear the actors.
After watching this interview I'm guessing Dean is no longer Jerry's biggest fan.
Poor old Dean.
Probably just the opposite. Dean is now more than likely an even bigger fan.
I don't think it'll change him in the least. He'll no doubt excuse it as Seinfeld being a "character" or something like that.
Jerry is Jerry's biggest fan.
Very disappointing response by Jerry to a sincere and heartfelt compliment... I guess a Billion dollars in the bank and constant ass kissing, has stained his soul with an unsightly egotistic canker.
Production trivia: They filmed her close ups after the interview. There are several giveaways throughout.
You're right. She probably felt she had a bad hair day and bad posture after seeing the video so she filmed her close ups after.
I could tell right off of the bat it looks so strange.
Haha the sound and light is completely different and she’s a terrible actor
That's standard practice for such interviews. They have a conversation while someone nearby listens and writes questions. Then they film the interviewer asking the questions.
Jerry is a class act - he's honest almost ad nauseam - I love it.
Jerry is a unique person. I remember when Seinfeld started. It was often the best time that day watching Jerry with his friends.
Hey Dean, not to worry: I’ve got a DVD player too.
I love how jerry treats the restaurant industry. He knows he's rich so he wants to hook up anyone who helps him. Also I think he said in the Sarah Jessica parker episode in coffee that its always a story for the server when a celebrity comes into eat. Anytime they tell the story people are always gonna ask " how did he tip?" I love that jerry recognizes that and wants to make a great experience/story for all who's involved.
And as usual, he was being very polite.
jesus, this really shows how down to earth jerry is... he makes "normal" people seem alien.
All of the scenes that were filmed in Jerry’s apartment are in front of a live studio audience. So the majority of the show were real genuine laughs from live people. What a dopey reporter.
bro if u think those laughs in audience are real, you better check your ears. its just a button
Wait, the laughter was not fake. It was a studio audience that laughed.
Jenn Hoff you heard it from him ...you now know the secret
You seriously can't recognize a laugh track?
MrAAAusername some people just don’t have it
Some people don’t see the truth
@@MrAAAusername Some scenes were set up in a way where it couldn't be aired under a live audience. A laugh track was used for those. For example, scenes taking place outdoors. Scenes that were on stage and not filmed at odd angles nor with blue screen were filmed with a live audience, such as scenes at the diner or Jerry's apartment.
His dedication is extremely admirable
I love how ornery he is in interviews, especially when he feels cornered by a question. So funny.
im suprised 22 people knew what ornery meant. but once i looked it up you got a 23rd like
I was always told it’s tacky to talk about someone’s wealth.
When a person reaches this level of wealth it is common for people to talk about it. His responses are gold though.
Asking one question would have been sufficient. I was somewhere around the midway point I think, when I accidentally exited out, and it seems like it is all she was talking about.
I saw him in Victoria BC in 2013 or 2014 and it was an amazing show. Great energy and laughs from start to finish.
Glad Jerry is a generous tipper! Many of us make our livings from tips and it is such 'good will' to feel Jerry is willing to share. Thanks man.
His wife's last name is Seinfeld too. That's chill.
Incest is neat
wgerd98 *incest is best
You're trying to be amusing. Or....you're daft.
Her maiden name was Sklar.
Thus, she marries Seinfeld and takes his....oh never mind. It is chill. Yes indeedy.
Jerry is exactly like the the character he played on Seinfeld. Arrogant, self entitled and straight up mean. He probably didn’t have to act all throughout the series. He just had to be himself smh
Lighten the fuck up lol.
"The laughter all fake" says the voice over at about 1:05. Obviously they didn't do their research because while the clips shown may have had canned laughter, Seinfeld was, for years, taped before a live studio audience.
I guess with her hostile style she's working her way up to interviewing Jordan Peterson ....
So what you're saying is Elaine patriarchy....
And get absolutely destroyed by him
The issue is that people used to separate public and private life. With expansion of social media influence and technology, people blend the two and now nobody has any respect.
Wtf is this an interview about how Jerry should feel guilty about making a lot of money or his first visit to New Zealand?
Jerry made a good point that's often overlooked... acoustics in a venue are (is?) really important. If it's full of echoes no one can hear you.
I can't take any more of her editorializing voice-overs.
I love you Jerry and we watch DVDs every day 95% Seinfeld.
The “that’s true” when she says blouses are different from Porsche’s got me pretty good
Brutal host. Humorless, petty, and obsessive about Jerry's wealth. It's a testimony to his confidence and emotional maturity that he powers through it without breaking a sweat.
I thought that she came across as far too aggressive. He handled her brilliantly.
5:07 “I don’t blend them much...” So I guess that means no “worlds colliding!!!”
1:47 obviously a clip from long ago when Seinfeld was much younger. No amount of money can make you young again.
To his credit he keeps his material clean.
She's obsessed with his money...
Of course she is !!!
She is an SJW Feminist Liberal.
OBAMAhopeless You need Jesus

OBAMAhopeless We’re all in this together. I wish you and your loved ones the very best. Have a blessed day.
l bet Alderon is PRO Abortion... Sad.
Jerry is brutally honest when he basically says, “I don’t need my ‘fans’, they need me”. It appears as if he has no respect for his fan base.
Douglas Robertson ,
And him saying he doesn’t and never has cared about money is absolutely disingenuous. He’s a total fraud, like most of Hollywood.
Keep It Real being that he walked away from his show in its prime and turned down absurd amounts of money in doing so, I’m not sure he’s as disingenuous as you think. But miserable, jealous people stay miserable and jealous. You do you.
JohnnyDemarco he stills makes royalties from the show. He really didn’t miss out on much
That’s not disrespect. He’s just not playing the stupid political game of flattering people for no reason. I respect it.
That's what his show was about figuratively.
Successful, and sharing the success with others, while avoiding harm.. Beautiful.. All power to you.
Dean just threw away his Seinfeld poster and signed box DVDs
When an interview sucks all the fun and laughter out of a comedian and a funny show...
Is this interview just to make him feel guilty or something about how much money he has? I'm feeling really uncomfortable...
The laughter wasn't fake. It was filmed before a live studio audience.
I still watch the episodes on TV and i have the DVD's. Love the show!
In fairness to Jerry.... Bluray players still play DVDs and thats how I watch his series haha
In fairness to DEAN
His children all look like their mother, and she's a beautiful woman! Nice family!!
Love you Jerry, when things went very wrong your shows, your comedy broke the tension and the problem disappear instantly. Thank you
Take a second or a minute or an hour to think. Jerry is one of the kings. Such an amazing human.
"Well Dean's got one..." something my mum would say, in the exact same way lol
Do they hate money in New Zealand?
They're still on a barter system.
No, just aborigines
Not Gay Bear They use kiwi
No, this woman's just weird. I found this to be the worst and weirdest interview of Jerry ever.
@@Matthew-ve7uv fuck Jerry what makes him so fucking special his comedy is pretty shity Bland but he's Jewish if you say something about that though you must be anti-Semitic. SMH
Seinfeld on DVD is reliable. Doesn't require internet, a monthly subscription or sitting through ads. Most episodes have behind the scenes interviews about the episode that are less than 10 minutes each and are PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY fun to watch. Seinfeld on DVD > Seinfeld Streaming
"She's a little confused, this person." I sprayed my monitor.
“But it’s legal, and hurts no one.”
I'm guessing Jerry hooked up Dean with a big tip after this interview.
Bravo. Very Letterman.
Love jerry Seinfeld!
After hearing his view on tipping...makes me an even bigger fan!
Sadly, Few people (especially super wealthy people) tip appropriately...
I’ve been bartending for years and have seen all walks of life; would love to see jerry Seinfeld come walking through the front door one of these days!
Funny stuff I always wish that the show would come back to the air
I like Seinfeld for being blunt and honest. but he has said in many interviews that "I don't need them (fans, audiences), they need me". I think he is missing the point that fans are the ones that actually paid for his shows, DVDs, web series and... fans watched Seinfeld series and made it so commercially successful. So it's a two side road like all jobs! you NEED customers/clients/audiences to make your hard work pay.
I understand how sick he is from paparazzi, crazy people on every occasion forcing themselves, losing privacy and... but It's a part of the deal. no popularity, no car collection for a comedian.
Well stated.
You really think that fact is lost on him?
He doesn’t, he made a good product. People consume his product, fans and regulars. I think that’s just sad when fans think they are responsible for somebody’s success.
I’m glad he doesn’t need me. I like him more for it.
@J Wil thanks!
3:10 was so added after the interview.
I'm certain they only have two cameras.
“Do you need to know how many blouses you have ?” Lol I could watch Seinfeld all day..
It's nice to see Jerry talks in reality! So many people today don't..!
I knew I loved Jerry but his thoughts on tipping reminded me why. Good human beings are good tippers.
*Trust me you’d care about money, when your card gets rejected when you wana buy yourself a couple things to eat from the grocery store.*
Kate Ji fucking A fucking Men. A M E N
Kate Ji in fairness, he’s been ‘poor’ and worked for very little money in his early days.
Would you not say that you are in fact "in trouble" then?
Humor is the high road. If you haven’t noticed yet, humor is really the high road. Nothing worth taking too seriously down on planet earth...
I Still watch DVD for the record,.
Jerry never cared about money....except when his costars asked for a small piece
That is sometimes about pride or ego instead of money.
Really? I never read anything about that. And btw, a small piece? They all got rich but certainly shouldnt recieve anything close to Jerry
@@bellmeisterful Jerry is a billionaire. His costars might have a few million but Jason Alexander not only carried a huge part of the show, he'll never work again because reruns force people to only see him as George. Then they did the reunion on Curb for nothing. Again as a favor to Larry who doesn't need the money
@@joesimon2018 Dreyfus has gone on to be a very successful actress on TV winning awards. Jason has also done well but not so much. By the way
he's only worth about 50 million. That must be chump change right? Michael Richards went back into stand up but, well let's not get into that.
As creator, writer and actor in the most successful comedy ever to be on TV Jerry got what anyone would deserve. It is estimated that Julia, Michael and Jason
each made approximately 45 million in total salary over the course of the 9 years they were on the show, BUT they do not own it. They are actors without any equity. Why
should they own it?
@TheRealCritique It's not that complicated. The cast was open to negotiate into the final seasons and the real money in reruns was off the table. Jason has stated on interviews that he wasn't happy with how there was no payday at the end after negotiating. In my opinion he did a lot of heavy lifting to make the show what it is.
Don't ever become political Jerry. Please.
You're the only one who can be un-political.
We all want to love you.
That will all change if you become political.
Don't do it.
The word is "apolitical" not "un-political". And yes, I agree, Jerry should remain apolitical👍
Don't tell him what to do and if he does become political you can leave at any time. People who bark commands like you do sound exactly like the political people you criticize. I'd hate to see what you'd sound like if YOU became political. I bet it wouldn't be pretty.
@@justanotherlikeyou Thank you. I'm glad you told me that, now I know. I will remember that thanks. :)

That's why I've always liked Seinfeld, he's clean and he's a gentleman. Which you cannot say for every comedian out there.
Fuck off.
True. Very true.
Gentleman? I have a hard time understanding just what is gentlemanlike with Seinfeld... He's rude. I understand that some people admire his bluntness but I just see it as being bloated and douchey. He clearly has an incredibly high opinion of himself and he's got no desire in hiding that.
@fooloof He stayed in character, it's part of his public persona now. I bet Dean was thrilled by Jerry's response.
I love how the super rich don’t care about money......I don’t have a problem with the riches, but please, you care about the money too.
Absolutely Kevin
the super rich could lose everything in a matter of weeks with careless managing....they would care about money if they didn't have it...like real people do

The title of this video was intriguing
Buddy, I keep a dvd player with a 100lb tv and the complete seinfeld set in my room. You better take that back Jerry
She was over interested in his wealth because Jerry's estimated wealth of 870 million would be extremely unique in New Zeland. That would actually make him the 10th richest person in New Zealand. In comparison, there are 560 billionaires in the US.
Vyacheslav Ivchenko I bet 50% of New Zealanders don't live in or near poverty....maybe we could learn from them...

He could've just said "Your welcome" instead of telling his big fans that they're deluded, even if they are.
Sorry that he was being honest instead of saying something to your liking.
You're welcome.
@@ovidiub3830 True. But the "I don't need Dean. Dean needs me" line was pure arrogance. Dean and avid fans like him can be honest too and say Jerry you needed people like me to tune in to your show about nothing to keep it on the air year after year. You needed fans like me to buy tickets to your performances when you went on tour.
People are turning to comedians to listen them go on about politics? The ratings say something different.
Jerry's response is true, though.
I watch Late Night (I assume that's who he meant) for entertainment. By then, I've already got my news for the evening. Late Night puts the humorous spin on it. But whether you're getting your news from them or watching them for laughs or both, the world of politics in 2018 is loaded with great material!
I think the reason that lady hairdresser referred to Seinfeld being real, is because it takes her away from the stresses of her life and makes things real, as they should be.; Being happy and having a release from the stresses of life. Much thanks Jerry!!
No, what it's doing is taking you AWAY from reality, which is a good thing as long as one doesn't stay there all the time.
Perspectives are an interesting thing. Sometimes they look at angles in unique ways. What's one thing to one person is something else to another.
Yes..everyone loves Seinfeld. I had all episodes on my pc and it's on most days. When i'm gaming, it's on the other tv above my desk. Or at night to go to bed with. Seinfeld is everywhere. I just started watching all of the Comedians in cars episodes for the first time. (don't remember ever hearing about when it came out)
...why is this woman so concerned with his money?...is that a cultural thing in NZ?...do they badger everyone about their finances?...
hey no big deal, it was a great interview
the juice is loose wrong. This interview was horrid.
what didn't you like about it? I thought the interviewer offered some pushback which Seinfeld rarely has to respond to in interviews, was interesting to see him a bit challenged in spots I like the way he responded.
puzer1 Probably because in sensible parts of the world like New Zealand a few people having obscene wealth while most people in their country have so little is considered a sign of a broken society.
yeah there aren't that many mega-rich in NZ. The richest NZer is just shy of $10b.
