A “left-behind” 12-year-old boy in northern China’s Hebei province sent a video message to his parents who were working in a city, telling them not to tire themselves out and visit him more often. The video has gone viral on the country’s social media and touched many online.

This kid is so mature for his age. My heart breaks when he tried to hold back his tears by tilting his head upwards and his watery eyes were looking up hoping those heavy tears wont fall. You can tell he misses his parents so much and his heart aches for them Alot and i mean alot.

That’s something I would do for my father but I never had the courage to send him a video message when I was crying because he too would probably start crying. As it is when he leaves his tears trickle down as mine trickles down . I don’t want him to miss me more and cry.

@@Krasses China is a developing country according to UN standards, many migrant workers/couples travel to tier 1 or 2 cities, so they can make more money there, the downside is they have to leave their children with grandparents, but with the economic growth in tier 3 or 4 cities, more people decide to stay to build and contribute to their hometowns, things will improve.

When you’re in a situation where you have nothing and know you can simply be replaced by someone else who is suffering like you are, you’ll do anything to keep your livelihood, no matter what. These parent simply have no choice, or they wouldn’t be suffering doing their jobs.
Also, there might not be enough money to save up for travel...and it may make more sense to send the money to the family, rather than travel to their family. Life is just so unexplainably difficult sometimes. :(

I've been there too, i was left with my grandparents when i was only an infant bcs my parents couldn't take care of me due to work. Once a year i got a chance to visit them in the city and also my mom came to see me every now and then, fortunately they make enough so we can enjoy a decent life rn. I know what is like to only see ur parents in a very little time, so i hope this boy have a strong heart and mind so that he can understand tht his parents are working hard to provide for their family, also blessed the parents who are working hard. 💚✨
Makes you wonder why people make children if they can't afford to be with them???? My best years were my childrens childhood years, I would die to get them back. I am so glad that I spent every moment with them,never had babysitters, enjoyed every second with them.

Sometimes a child just want to cuddle with their parents, no need big toy, no need new clothes, new shoes..
Sometimes a warm cuddle from their parents is all they really want..
Unfortunately, that's not the case. You see I'm a parent myself and the cost of raising a kid is really high. And you don't want just to give them the bare minimum to survive but also a bit more. You want to bring them decent food on the table, to be able to clothe them like everyone else so they don't stand apart... Never mind paying rent, bills, any health related check ups which kids need a lot, their medicine, even going to school... You have to buy and spend a lot so they can have some quality . You can't do that if your job barely pays a low salary, so you always end up doing extra hours etc.
Of course emotional support and physical love is important when it comes to raising a kid... but some people can't afford it. For some even a day spend not working means not having food on the table. I just hope the economical situtation of his family gets better so they can spend more time with him.

For people who have no money or status, being a soldier is almost the best solution (if you don’t learn well in school) in china.However, after Military reform（more benefits）,It's getting harder to be a soldier.

Sometimes it feels like there isn't much love around us, but people care they just don't know exactly what to do. Mostly because life is hard for all of us. I taught in a rural part of Asia where most kids lived in foster care....it was one of the most helpless feelings a human can ever have. Everyday these poor kids wished for a home that never came. Those kids taught me more than I could ever wish to teach them. This breaks my heart
