@@Nitin-vq4yr I don’t believe an eye transplant is possible at this point in time. You can transplant a cornea, but not a retina or whole eye.
Additionally there is no real treatment for RP but hopefully there will be someday soon.

I have RP and this is the best depiction of what I've been dealing with. People see me with a white cane and then I pick up my phone or read a menu at a restaurant. I get some funny looks and have heard horror stories of RP patients being attacked or harassed because people think we are faking. Vision loss is very varied and so many people don't understand that. Thanks for a great short and thanks to Yvonne!

It isn’t all bad, one thing they cover in the video is the adaptations we go through. In my experience I have learned that as I am forced to take things slower it allows me the opportunity to appreciate things differently. I’ve found so many different ways to express emotion as a reflex of the initial shock of my diagnosis.
It’s rough but you can gain so much more than you would expect.

Interesting... My auntie's elderly lovebird was mostly blind towards the end, and she scanned the room in vertical strips to be able to see stuff. I use a headtorch while cooking and eating, mainly because my lights are in the wrong places to illuminate what I'm doing sufficiently for me to focus on it.
I could live with being mostly blind - although yes, it'd make working very much more difficult. What I'd struggle with more is being deaf. Music is too important, the sounds of nature like the worms scooting back into the ground when I shine a light at them at night after it's rained, even just hearing the echo of my footsteps as I walk past a tree - I'm very perceptive like that, for a sighted person. Family history suggests I will gradually lose my hearing from the top downwards as I age. Thankfully I like bassy music, but one day I probably won't be able to hear the bats, those worms, or my footsteps reflecting off the trees.
There's always some beauty in the world to see or to hear or to feel or to smell almost every day. I make conscious efforts to stop and appreciate those moments of beauty, because those are what makes life worth living.

Because of this life changing disease, I'm completely blind in my right eye and what sight I have remaining in my left eye is like looking through a straw. Keep seeing ophthomolgists. Ive seen about 9 doctors the last year, as I had a cornea transplant and cataract surgery at the same time and ended up with a detatched cornea. I am legally blind in the other eye. I finally went back to my original ophthalmologist that Ive been seeing for 20 years, and she sent me to an outside ophthalmologist and optometrist with the Lions club and lighthouse for the blind. I’m also seeing an occupational therapist. The last ophthalmologist might perform surgery. I’m grateful to finally see doctors to understand what I’m seeing.

Im registered blind i have oculocutaneous albinism and i use a cane its the best thing it lets other people know that you cant see properly. I see everything blurred and dont see detail and cant see much of anything on a night so my vision fluctuates in different light. I GET THE SAME YOU DONT LOOK BLIND that winds me up 🤨 i dont recognise people unless i either recognise their voice or they are within a few metres of me and at night they would have to be within a metre. So blindness is total sight loss

I can put my hand out in front of me and to the side and it just isnt there, but it isnt fuzzy or a black spot. I still pick up things farther out in periphery.
