    I have a drinking problem that's linked to my depression. I'll go a solid week or two without drinking but then I'll crash out one day and down 6-12 5--8% beers in an hour or two. It used to be worse though. I used to drink half of a big bottle of 40% vodka then pass out. I'm really trying to stop. I always feel like a disgusting loser the day after.

      I have a similar problem...after I quit the vodka my life turned around...I was such a lightweight when I drank hard liquor I went wild... then woke up depressed... wish u the best

      @@matchu.j thanks. Yeah I stopped vodka because I would drink so much my life was legitmately in danger and I would get wayyyy more drunk wayyyy quicker. Beer at least gives me opportunities to stop y'know? I have to drink so many to get wasted that sometimes I stop when I'm only tipsy. Just gives me time to say "wtf am I doing." It also makes you piss like crazy so that helps gets some of it out of your system. It weird too because I know I can quit. I've done it before. Its just I'm in real messed up situation financially and when it gets overwhelming I feel I need to escape my feelings of being a failure.

      @KeiGeorge if you haven't started don't even think about it bro. Addiction is literally the worst thing in the world. I never liked drinking, but I have other substance problems since I was like 15, I'm 24 now. Every single day I wish I could just stop, just thinking about the amount of money and damage I'm doing to myself makes me sick 😢

      I went to 2 AA meetings this week just to see what it's about and it's 100% not for me. It felt like a bible study and then just people telling sob stories while everyone else listened. Very cult-like with the "hello my name is xyz, and I'm an alcoholic."
      "Hello xyz!" and "thanks for sharing!" it was SUPER weird. My only trigger is boredom so really all I want is a support group of people to talk to for an hour or so a few times a week, that's it. There's no discourse in AA, just people talking without responses.
      edit : (Dave slagging off that he has never had any addiction is funny. Mate, you said in the past you weigh about 240lbs, you have an addiction to food lol)

    That's funny Dave, I was the same way in high school and college. My vision got progressively worse (near sighted as well) but I was too vain and insecure to wear glasses, so I couldn't really see wtf was on the board and just had to go off of what the professor was saying.
    It really fucked with my grades and made me feel stupid. Now I'm 35 and wear glasses all day every day because I'm dependent on them. I tried contacts but they hurt my eyes and I'm not good at putting them in and taking them out.

    For some context. Darryl Strawberry and I think Dwight Gooden were on the show that morning promoting a documentary about the 2 of them, Doc and Darryl. Both were huge superstar baseball players for the Mets in the 80s who won a championship and were also notorious drug addicts. Strawberry seems to be good now but Gooden not sot much.

      @@ObserverExperiencer At least in America seeing as our transformers come from China and take years to build, hope the grid doesn't go down because there will be a whole lot of electricians on standby.

    • @ObserverExperiencer
      @ObserverExperiencer Před měsícem

      @@ThaStranger11 That's regarding the massive power grid. I agree that would take A LOOOOONG time to get it together. But the power grid started from primitive means. Edison was a horrible person but he and others started a power grid from scratch. The point is having knowledge about how electricity works is VERY important. I'm too lazy to learn. I'd probably be a troubadour bringing and singing news from place to place for my supper. But knowing how to hook up a generator, solar panels, etc.? Big time important! And if we do go into a massive devastation where many die a lot of electricians will be lost along the way. There's a comedy/drama show called The Last Man On Earth. He thinks he is until he meets others. The next guy that comes along knows how to work on electrical systems and he doesn't.
