Oh boy where do I even begin. So I decided to go to the Kilmer Elementary School 2001-SRN (DC) in Buffalo Grove to start off the new year, yet this happened. They tested 26 minutes late, and it was cold as absolute shit. So 10AM rolls around, Buffalo Grove police department sends out the DTMF tones and...nothing. You can hear Wheeling's 2001-130s fire up, then Arlington Heights' Whelens a bit after. At first, I thought it was a systemwide failure in Buffalo Grove only, but apparently it was just an error or technical difficulties based on what the dispatcher told me. So after 11 minutes of waiting after the test was supposed to end, I call dispatch (NWCD) for the first time ever and ask them whether they forgot or tried setting off the sirens, and the guy who answered the phone said it was an error and that he'll pass it on. After 10 minutes, my hands got cold and sore, and I just wanted to be home already so I decide to leave, but literally a few seconds after I shut off my main camera, the 2001 fires up and does almost 3 minutes of alert. Luckily I got good BTS of that. Hope you enjoy this wonderful fiasco as much as I did!

I live in Jacksonville il and normally the sirens will go off at 10 for 1 min but this month suprisely they went off twice and i was watching the movie it with my sister trying to figer out if it was the background music from the movie but when i paused the movie i heard the srn and the vertix again the second time
Dang. I also went to record a Allertor in Elmwood Park IL village hall at that same date 1/2/24 but the siren never went off. I did hear ambience of some sirens but the allertor didn’t go off. Since I don’t have a radio, I have absolute no idea if the sirens are gonna go off or not but still I think it may be on it’s last leg. So, I ended with a bad first Tuesday. I was suprised because the allertor always goes off. There is also another one in elm middle school but I never heard it.
They very likely had issues sending the tones or decided not to test. The other Allertor is the most reliable one so you definitely would’ve heard it if they tested. I would’ve called if I were you tbh
Lol i remember when this siren fuckin failed while i recorded it. It was the same day that the fire station 15 Alertronic was doing it's last test.
Also, I like how on the statewide siren map they added a description for this siren saying that it replaced a Tbolt, but it still says it's a 130 and not a DC
Lmfao I saw your vid of that 😂 Luckily Braniff fixed it now as I never heard of it ever failing again. About the siren map, I told Nathan to fix that, which he did and it is showing up on my end so it’s just you. Try restarting google maps on ur device
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL I saw the fix. Nathan is very fast apparently, one of the 4 remaining Tbolts down here in BloNo got t128-ed like last week and it already got fixed too.
