Been on a 3 hour binge of theses videos. If you want some good vibes do the same. So much joy. So much anticipation for what the future holds. You never get that back, thats for sure. Good times.
Oh my god I have been watching these videos for the last 3 hours too. Makes me sad at the end knowing kids and teenagersntoday don't have the same thing. People were so comfortable talking to each other. Now a days every one seems afraid to say hello to someone. But definitely great vibes watching these videos.
lol same. I never went to my graduation or had a good senior year cuz I moved that year and didn’t have any friends so I have been compensating with these
I've been binge watching these videos too. As of late, I really miss the 90's. The 2010's just don't feel genuine and connected like it did "back in the day".
21:35 ...haven't heard those words in almost 25 years! We used to sit in detention, put our beepers on vibrate, and race them across the cafeteria table. I feel blessed to have been in high school from 90-94.
Tarpon Springs Sunsets Well I was born in 98’ and she was 22 at the time. She dropped out of college bcuz of me but eventually went back once my brother and I were in our teens and shes a college graduate in accounting now and has a successful career and running a business. Still have dreams about forgetting my locker combination. Class of 93. We learned how to drive when Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc came out. Popped in those CDs in the car. Gas was like a dollar.
Seeing everyone having conversations and being communicative warms my heart ❤️ Now a days everyone's nose is glued to their phone and no one looks up to say hi. The little things.
It was a very different time, even if it doesn't look all that different. Not saying it was better or anything, but yeah the lack of technology in our hands is a big difference.
@@vybie Before cell phones became prevalent teenagers used Pagers or Beepers to keep in contact with each other. It was just a little device that let you know someone wants to talk to you, so you find a phone some where to call them. Or you could send codes.
Graduation is both a happy and sad time. Happy because you are leaving high school and venturing out into the real world whether it is furthering your education or entering the workforce and sad because you are leaving all of your friends you made behind
I graduated in 1999, our class didn't have a 20 year reunion and even if we did I doubt anyone would have gone. I can't believe how time flies. The things I wished that I've done differently throughout the years. I never went to college out of high school like my others friends. That is one of my biggest regrets in life.
Just stubbled across this video!! Omg I remember some of you my class was 94' miss everyone! Seems like a blur but brings memories back! Hope everyone is doing well ❤️💯
This video was really fun to watch. Right now (2019) at BGHS I have a son in his senior year, and a daughter in her freshman year. Fun to see what the school looked like in 1993, and the surrounding area of BGHS has changed so much! This also reminded me of my high school days (Class of 86). I hope you are well and enjoying life.
It’s very interesting looking at this video and seeing how much BG has changed from 1993 till now. I graduated in 2022 and let me tell you those orange lockers aren’t there anymore and we didn’t go to our lockers after every class. We carried our backpacks around all day and only put our coats in our lockers and I only did a few times because our choir director Mrs. Utley had hangers for us to hang our coats up. This makes me wish I went to BG back then to see how it changed now. Also the field house doesn’t have tile anymore. It was renovated twice since 1993 I believe. At first it had a green and red track and now it has a blue and orange track for our colors. Also the office is in the front of the school by the main entrance now. Not by the back of the school anymore. They also added the music section for band and orchestra when I was a freshman in 2018. Though everything else is pretty much the same. What a time it was in high school. I wish I could go back but I’m also very thankful where I am now being a year graduated.
I graduated from DHS in 1996 and NO ONE recorded their day like this back then. Most of us didn't own a video camera or we didn't want to bring it to school with us. Wish we had though. The style feels totally normal to me. Kids today are so much more insecure and think they have to act like hot shots all the time. These kids seem more mature.
Yeah I had a camcorder in the 90s, but it was my dads big bulky 80s camcorder, like the one from Back to the Future. I didn’t feel comfortable carrying that to school in 1993, but I could have gotten away with it in 1989. After 1990, camcorders got a lot smaller.
I graduated in 1996 in Nebraska though....but still videos like these bring back so many memories. Thanks for posting this lol it's awesome! And omfg @ pagers! I forgot about those!! haha!
That gym teacher looks like a character in a comedy sketch. Also, telling kids to "shut up, and sit down," would get the teacher sent to the principal's office in 2023. It would not matter if it was a joke.
It's great to see this. I graduated in 2001, right before the big construction remodel in 2002, so this is all familiar to me and a great time capsule of the old building
Funny you mention that...My freshman and sophomore years, I was an introvert. Then I did a couple things outside my comfort zone and discovered a whole new side of myself. I graduated a very different person than the one that started.
I graduated in 93', thanks for the trip down memory lane. I sure miss that time in my life. I need to show this video to my kids so they can see that I wasn't the only person walking around with a t-shirt tucked into shorts. Ha.
Though doesn’t completely replace going to a class reunion, it’s great we now live in an age where we can still reconnect. My years at BG seem much more as a faded memory as I wished so bad to be out of there. Now I have so much to say to that punk kid that may have helped him gain a little bit more perspective. Then again, it’s all part of the journey. Hard to believe we’re not far from 30 years. Thanks for being ahead of your time Kevin and, sorry we got you in trouble with cops that one time :)
Never thought this video would be something we'd still be looking at 28 years later. Crazy. And what trouble with the cops?!?!? I don't recall this...lol

Haha starting off with Nirvana. Epic. I was still in elementary at this time and remember listening to all of this. I wish someone did this for Maine West, although one guy did upload a video of the homecoming game at Maine West in 1978, which was pretty interesting to see.

Not all but a lot of the fashion, shows, music and movies were just cooler and more interesting/impactful in my opinion. The way we interact, the types of people, our personalities and overall the maturity level is pretty different and quite dull compared to what I’ve seen from high school life in those times. Maybe we’ll see a positive change going into the 2020’s. I guess it’s good to look back and enjoy the past but not to stare, since what matters is what’s ahead..
