    absolutely one of the best pieces of meats you can by. It takes a little work cleaning it,, but its well worth it! If it were cleaned properly and displayed in a meat counter it could sell for 10 bucks a pound!

    almost 10 years later and ox heart still hasn't taken over the West. I blame the CZcams algorithm for not recommending this video enough.

    Gotta love Andrew Zimmern. He is the best thing to happen to food since pork. If you're ever in Philly area you have an open invite to the best Greek meal you ever had. Thank you for the inspiration.

      Nah I have to disagree..lol. I think Bourdain is the best thing to happen to food since pork..lol. For god sake Bourdain wants his gravestone to resemble a pig..lmao!!! Now thats a person that loves his Pork & booze..haha!!!

      I just think that Andrew Zimmern is just more sincere, he is also a much better teacher in respect to food. Anthony Bourdain is just not as much a teacher. Food is about sharing and passing on knowledge, Bourdain doesn't cut it in that respect. Sorry, but true.

      drummerchef851 People like Zimmern creep me out cause hes ALWAYS SO FUCKIN HAPPY..lol. Bourdain is WAY more funnier&I get his humor&all his views on life.Example are: What he said about Paula Dean is 100% correct & also his views about Vegans or Vegetarians. Also his views on other celebrity chefs on how they have sold out & his views about the FOOD NETWORK in general. Bourdain is not only a celebrity chef but also a TV host & a famous New York Times Bestselling Author. He is a much smarter man than Zimmern. I find Zimmern sometimes annoying when he talks about like he knows something more than the actual people that live in the country & cook the food everyday..lol. Zimmern sometimes makes fun of how it tastes right infront of his host. Like he says how bad it tastes&describes it to awful tasting things. Then he starts making weird facial expressions&noises. That is not only disrespectful but rude! Bourdain does NO SUCH thing when he travels to other parts of the world. He RESPECTS all his host & knows that they invited him to join them for a meal. They took their time in preparing the food for many hrs. So the least Bourdain does is TRY EVERYTHING NO MATTER HOW BAD IT TASTES. He tries everything once&asks for seconds. But he NEVER makes fun of the food infront of his guest cause its rude&disrespectful. He may do that in the narration part of the show. But NEVER infront of his guest cause hes more RESPECTFUL of them. He also NEVER makes bad facial expressions when eating the food & funny noises.
      Bourdain is a much smarter guy & even Zimmern even said that about Bourdain. That Bourdain is the 1 guy that he would read a food blog from.
      Bourdain's shows are Emmy award winning & Ive learned much more about different countries than Zimmern shows..lol. Also the photography, music & narration is WAY better on Bourdains shows than Zimmern.
      Bourdain is just as sincere & his honesty about talking about the Food Network & other celebrity chefs is refreshing. He aint afraid about no one & I like that about him! His Humor is great & almost all the things he talks about is true..lol.
      Dude if I wanted a Teacher I wouldnt go ask Bourdain or Zimmern. I would go to Chef school for that so whats ur point..lol??? Gordon Ramsey, Bobby Flay & Morimoto are the best Chefs to actually learn from & Zimmern is no way on their level..lol.
      I dont know about you. But Zimmern doesnt even deserve to be on that Bizarre Food show. He cant even eat a simple fruit & nut..lol. He hates anything Walnuts & hates Durian. Both arent that bad considering what he likes eating. Even Bourdain has eaten EVERYTHING on his show out of RESPECT. He dont wanna disrespect his Host & be rude about it. Zimmern dont give a shit cause hes disrespectful & rude!!!

    top man , it looks great and does not appear to have lots of fat , and its reasonably priced here in Bonnie Scotland , have used it a few times , but people somehow are hesitant about eating it , so I just tell them its kidney :-)

    My husband and I love beef heart and eat it at least twice a month. Unfortunately, too many people do not want to eat it, so it is difficult to find at the food store or meat market.

    • @ryanprice1889
      @ryanprice1889 Před 4 lety

      I have seen recipes where you cook it whole. Typically, low and slow (braising) if you aren't going to cut it up

    • @perpetuallylove
      @perpetuallylove Před 4 lety +1

      I wouldn't cook it whole because the tubes and connective tissue can be kinda hard. The heart is so big that you get a lot of meat and tender pieces. My local grocery store butcher thankfully does most of the cleaning of the heart and I get like 4 panels of clean heart.
