  • In this video of how it works, we will get to know about the carburetor. It explains from the petrol coming in through the petrol pump, to the float and the float pin stopping fuel and sending it back through the return line, to the primary jets and the pilot jet sizes and the choke mechanism to the butterfly valve used to open the throttle to the mixture tuning screw for the right stoichiometric screw to the idle screw to the vacuum pump or vacuum plunger. This is useful for those who want to go the IDY way and modify their cars. The carb is present in all old/vintage cars so this is a useful guide.

      wa alaikum assalam bhai. Just tune the car according to my video czcams.com/video/dGH5kyuahJI/video.html . It will work. All maruti 800 have the same engine and for carburetor model, the tuning is the same.

    Can a carburetor fail?
    Mechanic said that my Maruti 800 car is not working due to carburetor fail. He is asking me to change it.

    • @AveemAshfaq
      @AveemAshfaq  Před 7 lety

      Carburetor is indestructible. It will not fail. The mechanic has a spare carburetor lying around and wants to sell it to you. That is why he is telling that. What problem do you have? If the car does not start, check all the basic things. First the petrol pipe, then the ignition wires etc. If you want to clean the carburetor, I am making a video. It will be out in a week or so. You can clean the carburetor watching the new video.

    how to remove main jets or primary and secondary jets

    • @AveemAshfaq
      @AveemAshfaq  Před 7 lety

      Why would you want to open your primary and secondary jets? It creates more problems than you can think of. Just use the stock jet sizes and a good tune and you will get good mileage. If you want power, swap the carburetor for an esteem carb which has more sophistication in it.

      Aveem Ashfaq what is stock jets size of m800
      and I need more power because i live on hill roads
      and what is "esteem" is is brand or company

      So, are you from pakistan? The name for you i think is suzuki cultus. By the way, first try doing carburetor tuning like I have shown in the video. It gives you a good balance between mileage and speed. czcams.com/video/dGH5kyuahJI/video.html
      If you are still not satisfied, then swap your carb for a cultus carb. The stock jet sizes of mehran aka m800 are primary pilot jet 40 and secondary pilot jet size 55. Main jet 92.5 and 165 for primary and secondary.

      I am from india and so I cannot suggest any mechanic in pakistan. However, why don't you try cleaning the carburetor yourself. Get the car home, Wait till tomorrow, I will post the updated new video on how to clean a carburetor by yourself at home. Doing this by yourself is the best way to get out of this mess.

      brother i am a girl and i know the way this sounds but what if i screw it up even more i really don't know anything about cars and for that matter even my little brother doesn't know much about cars.... plus could you kindly just answer one question " the symptoms are as follows"
      1- occassional black smoke coming out from the back if you rev the engine hard there is like big blow of dusty smoke that comes out
      2- the car not starting after being driven for 2 hours .. even if the engine is warm
      3- car sort of does this hiccup like thing when it exceeds speed of 50
      4- occassionaly does this hiccup thingy even below 50
      and 60% of the time if it's used for less than an hour drives pretty normal like it doesn't give any trouble it feels pretty normal like there is nothing wrong with it however when it warms up than all the symptoms are manifested
      now my question
      how bad the situation needs to be in order for the freaking carburetor to be changed? when i know that my car which has just 29000 miles on it bought in year 2011 zero meter should not have the carburetor replaced......

      Ok. Do not panic. You can still do the work by yourself. It just looks complicated because of the complex shape but it is very easy. If you have any problems, you can contact me via mail at aveemashfaq@gmail.com and I will personally assist you from there.
      SYmptom 1 means that your tuning is wrong. You are sending too much petrol for the amount of air.
      Symptom 2 means that your spark timing might also be wrong. Or your distributor coil. I am not sure. I need further diagnosis.
      Symptom 3 and 4 means your car might be overheating. You need to check your coolant and the cooling circuit.
      Dont be fooled and buy new carburetor. You do not even need to open it. You just need to do tuning. That's all. I will be putting the video shortly. I will first make a video on how to clean carburetor. Then I will put a video on how to tune it. Please contact me with further details in the mail if you need anything urgently.

      thanks brother went to a suzuki authorized workshop today and had the carburetor tuned the guy did the job to our satisfaction so it seems as there was a clear difference in the way the car felt no hiccups smooth ride had a couple of things like vipers and side glass fixed also all in all we felt quite satisfied ..... i will keep in touch with you though for guidance on different matters as what you told us yesterday really helped us decide the kind of words we were suppose to use to define the problem kindly do make a video on general upkeep of the engine like very basic things that we need to do the ensure that the car remains in healthy condition...
      i am really happy and really appreciate your help.... many thanksssss.. :)
