I totally agree to just use your bags without worrying too much. I used to freak out, but now I just enjoy them while still take care if them at the same time.

LOVED this video girl!! CZcams needs more of these!!.....every SA i have ever spoken to about has said the same thing, don't interrupt the natural process, if the Vachetta was meant to be treated LV would sell something for it.

I purchase a preloved Noe because I adore how the dark patina vachetta looks on it. Like you, I've found that many people who have a nice patina say they generally don't treat their bags.

Really good video thank you for sharing. I completely agree with you, I don’t treat my vachetta either, I want it to age naturally. Treated leather looks Matt and dull especially in the long term. I love your Speedy, the patina on it is impressive 👍

I think the used, and well loved 2004 LV speedy is gorgeous... It just gives it a sort of dimension and vintage look. It looks more luxurious to me. It doesn't look abused or dirty. It has character. Makes me think it has lived an adventurous life - seeing life and rain and the world. I'm probably going to get a Speedy 25 for the first time in Monogram :) Super excited. These videos help me understand/learn about Vachetta.
Yes!!! I LOVE the look of a really used and loved bag! I’ve never been a fan of them when they are new and white.

I love the carefree attitude you have about the patina. I'm trying to do that but I still worry like crazy. I mean it is just a bag and it's meant to be used☺
Diane Nolan well once they get honey patina and get darker the water doesn't absorb and the you won't really notice spots 😀😀 yes, love them and use them

I am using distress full grain leather bags......campomaggi brand. I will use a bag raincoat to put my leaner bag when rain. this raincoat bag is with pull string.

I feel like the darker stage means you can finally breathe and wear it w/o worrying about it. I just used my new speedy 30 yesterday for the first time. i did spray with apple garde and i don't mind that it wears off. I have a LV friend that has many bags and she recommended it. i was curious how easily the dirt or darkness would show on the handles if you just casually use it all the time. I also have a Tivoli Gm bought it pre loved and the patina is beautiful but i do notice the dryness on the patina. i feel like theirs nothing i can do about it anymore but i did spray apple grade. ah.. i don't mind.

My hubby just purchased the Alma BB in Monogram for me for Christmas. While it is still sitting under the Christmas tree, I’ve been contemplating returning it because I was terrified of the patina. Your videos helped me to understand the process, and I am now super excited to love and use my bag. Thank you for sharing your experience. One question, do you recommend while I let it sit, prior to using it, that I leave it in direct sun?

No, I just say use it right away :) I don’t think sitting there does anything. The leather becomes more resilient to stains once the oils from your hands have created a more shiny surface

Hungarian Tornado thank you. To be honest I didn't even know it was a thing until I found out that the one I bought from did. I personally don't prefer that though. Dries out the vachetta and makes it lose it natural beauty
I wonder if I can do anything to slow the patina process? I’ve only used my Pochete metis for about a year it’s and already got dark honey color.
Not really. I mean I guess if you don’t use lotions or really touch it a lot but that’s hard.
This might sound stupid but if I buy a twilly scarf for my speedy will it still patina? Its my first bag from LV and I ordered it last night but I am worried about the vachetta

Is it normal for vachetta to tan differently? I have a speedy35b and has been sitting out for a couple weeks but just noticed one side of the vachetta strap is darker then the other. Thank you
Scattered Mama did you have only one side to the light? That could cause that maybe?
Possibly that was my first thought although it wouldn’t be getting direct sunlight only the light from my room when it’s on but I now have it sitting on my bed with the light on in my room trying to see if I can tan the other side lol my son was like just wait till our electric bill comes lol 😂

High end leather, like that used on LV or on horse saddles can dry out and crack if not properly hydrated; i.e. use appropriate conditioners that do not contain alcohol or oils that will darken the leather. I've seen 20+ year old Hermes saddles in well-used, beautiful shape and seen 3 year old high end saddles with cracks all over the place from abuse (over-cleaning and lack of conditioning.)
I screw up the smallest piece of vachetta ..for instance like on the Pochette Metis and it barley has any leather lol...funny thing is my monogram neverfull vachetta looks great! Thanks Tiffany for this video I want to be more like you when it comes to being carefree...I just don't know if I could do rain! 😩😳 HELP! Lol

Susi Susi I love the look of it but I'd have to wait to see if it has issues. So far they already have an issue with two straps...one has stitching and the other doesn't. I'm not fond of that. They need to sort out that issue. I'm also curious to see if the top has issues. But it's def a beautiful bag! I'd LOVE the black one!!!
Me too! The black is sooo pretty! And the crossbody option is awesome! But these problems that come along a lot with all the new releases make me upset!
I had the NeoNoe in Saffron and LOVED that bag...started to get a glazing issue around the top and took it in to be repaired; was just told last week they can't repair it, nor replace it because the color (orange) is discontinued, so now I have a store credit and no bag. I love the original Noe, but live in FL and have inconsistent rain here and hate spots. Literally bought the speedy 30 B in black empriente leather last month so I wouldn't have to worry about water spots.
You can use a white eraser only a white one and it will remove the darkness on your handles..
Oooo no. I’d never do that. It dries out the vachetta and can cause cracking

Vivian Simpson yes, that's how I purchased the strap. It's a spare part. I doubt I'll ever sell it and fashionphile had ONE but they had it for like $400! They are nuts. It's only $80 from LV.
Thanks a lot. I don't know if I can still buy it since they already discontinued the Metis Hobo. I called my LV store here in Stockholm and they said they dont have it anymore.

Weird it seems dry...maybe exchange it. Receiving it dry might not be a good sign. You deserve better especially for the price tag

Casti Your Fairy Lash Mother im from Texas and also lived in Florida for 5 years. Living in each state, my leather never got dry. I’d have to say def exchange it. No acceptable 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Gosh, I made this so long ago I can’t remember lol. I know that when I sent back my delightful that one came back totally messed up! They had to give me a new bag bc it was so bad. I don’t get them sometimes
