Risacher has so much room for growth. Also, his attitude is huge and great to have. His off ball defense along with Dyson Daniels is going to be exciting to see!
I agree with you completely. I am sure they will surprise other teams early in the season because no one will be sure how to scout the Hawks. So I am expecting a surprising first month of the season. This will lead to high expectations, and then November fans will be complaining and jumping off the band wagon while denying it.

Yes they do but seems that only a few of us see and embrace their vision.
Perimeter defense is needing fixed, but it's pointless if you can't get the rebound and prevent 2nd chance points. Putting JJ at PF and allowing Okongwu to chase outside shooters.... that's a problem. Rebounding has to be a priority before perimeter defense. Putting the cart before the horse doesn't help, just frustrates your defense your trying to improve.
I gained more promise for Risacher when I learned about his Father in the Euro league he comes from a hard working winning legacy. Hopefully it translates to the NBA.
One thing I think these young players will gain from playing with Trae is a killer instinct. Trae loves to attack defenses and that’s a trait you need to be a great scorer in the NBA
I’m very happy about Dyson Daniels and seeing Nance temporarily replace Capela.
Nance is just PF/Center depth. I dont see him repalcing anyone...

Risacher and Dyson are nice young quality pieces foreal. If you think about it, this picked up Trae's defensive woes

Imma say this now him and Jalen gone be something else and I can’t wait. With a couple months of chemistry, plays run with and through each other, a scary duo is going to unfold for the hawk haters
They damn near the same player, but Zack taller and has a better shot and on ball defense & Jalen more athletic and has more experience. That’s why I’m waiting because Hawks have two star level wings. Hawks can’t win with Murray and Trae that duo don’t compliment each other.
Trae need defense and shooters and we are doing that.
One piece Trae need is a center a real one.

Hunter is a hell of a player and had a pretty good year. He's good at what he does but doesn't match this system. He can't improve much more.

@Edo9River I get it. Definitely want more. I think a lot of us(not you) miss and under-appreciate his game. He would probably be better on a championship level team that has a defined system. Actually my favorite player on the team last year.
I want to see Mo Gueye. I'm very interested in how he develops.
Risacher floor is Lauri Markkanen
Larry Nance is listed as a 4. Should we keep him behind Jalen??? I have always seen him play 5. Could Hawks be done??? We basically dropped Murray and Griffin and picked up 6 wings including Liddell and Brown.
Nance has been primarily a 5 the last two years (89% of minutes) but he can play some at the 4.
I would love to see AJ Griffin grow and do great wherever he goes in the league. I was a big fan.

True. Childress couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. Maybe on the cutter and D side. Childress was crafty.
I like the optimism, but realistically can't share it. I'm too much a realist to allow myself delusions of grandeur. Risacher is a fun distraction to talk about, but our front office has way too much money tied up in the center position for it's production. I can't recall a Euro league player coming to the NBA and being a serious defensive league leader, not sure if Gobert counts.... DD might get a little better this year, but make no mistake... their is a reason why NO's wouldn't trade us the better choices on their roster. They mighta been stacked at the 2-3 position, but if DD had shown he was the best, he'd have been higher in their lineup. That said... Nance at this time is 11mil for a 3rd string center. Until we trade Hunter to Detroit and Capela for expiring contracts/capital, we're looking at play-in at best. We're not gonna improve in trading them, can only set up for next season and give our young players time to grow this season w/ Trae. Also can't believe the delusions of people thinking the Lakers pick is gonna be lottery worthy? When has Lebron or the league allowed a Lebron led team to not compete for playoff chances? He's not sticking around to win 20 games this season. It's a middling 1st rnd pick at best and more likely around pick 20. The "Face of the League", like him or not.... is not profitable to have losing all his games.

He’s going to look silly against actual pros especially off the dribble BBQ chicken all day. Trae is never going to stop being targeted by bigger guards ( aka all of them) so your perimeter defense is never going to be good.
