- Fossil shells and Middle Miocene era fossil bones are always incredible finds. In addition, it's always neat to see the fossils in the concretions and open them along with the Jaspers and Agates. We use our saw to cut some of them open and get some close up views too.

I love that heart rock so much! This beach reminds me so much of the areas I go to, same looking rocks.
Do you have heart-shells in your rocks too? It's always a pleasure to find them and sometimes they've got fun calcite, druzy, or other inclusions to make them fancier valentines, lol. I was thinking the same thing about your beaches! Thanks for watching and chat soon.
I like the fossils that you find on the beach. Very informative video as always. Thanks for sharing.
The fossils are really the goodies to look for around here, this is such an amazing place to be for them. You're entered (again) in the giveaway! Good luck and keep your ears open for announcements. Thanks again for watching and Cheers!
That was an extraordinary adventure. Thank you for taking me along with you. I think you found a whale eye socket. The little shares and jagates were fun too. Bless your heart for sharing the fun.
Wouldn't that be so cool if it was an eye socket?! I'll prep that bone and we'll get a little closer to knowing what it is...maybe. I entered you in the giveaway for all of the videos you watched, thanks so much. I wanted to let you know even though the giveaway has passed. Thanks again for watching, cheers!
Beautiful shells and gotta love those jasp-agates. Enjoyed seeing the beach even if it was only vicariously.
Always a good day on the beach, whatever the weather or finds for sure! Thanks for coming along. You're entered in the upcoming giveaway, stay tuned and good luck!
I love fossils!! Interesting finds!
Fossils are a big favorite, they never get old (oh no, that's a terrible pun). Anyhow, thanks again for watching!
some nice finds well done
Thanks so much, cheers!
Awesome finds! Cute ending.
Thank you! Just getting caught up, you entered in the giveaway, stay tuned and good luck!
I loved beachcombing in Oregon and this video makes me want to go again. The heart in the rock is an incredible find!
Hope that you can make it back out to the coast, it's a lovely place for sure. You're entered in the upcoming giveaway, stay tuned and good luck!
Hi Karen 💗 my favourite finds on the beach here in Tasmania petrified wood and the incredible agates I find less often!! Each agate is amazingly different from the next, in colour, shape and size.
That makes them harder to find, and all the more exciting!
You inspire me as to what I'll eventually do with them.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful skills 💕
Pet wood and agates are such fabulous finds. Have you been able to identify any of the wood? I agree about the agates, every one having its own distinct character. I love them as much as high zoot gems. I hope that you get into doing something wonderful with them for sure! Thanks for watching and you're entered in the giveaway, good luck!
Another wonderful video with great content! I I liked the section on beach safety regarding eroding cliffs, which reminds me of a outing I had in late winter. While on the beach, a local advised me to return in a few months to the same part of the beach, because a 20 foot section of the cliff had fallen into the ocean a few days ago. Fast forward to early May….it happened to be one of the best agate hunts I’ve ever had! Found an agatized spear tip, arrow head and the first blue agate of my earlier days of agate hunting! The gentleman who gave me that inside advice has become a friend for many years now, always dropping by giving him a bag of agates and enjoy talking with him every chance I’m in town. Cliff walls can be dangerous and staying aware and safe can make all the difference. Thank you for the safety tip!
Thanks, Bryan. That was a really cool story! It's so true, those cliffs can heave-ho and go at any moment. AND they bring lots of goodies onto the beach with them! I watched cliff start to slip and then come down onto the beach a few seasons ago and a 3 part, big rib of an animal was dislodging from a boulder in that slide. So incredible to be there for the erosion and fossil liberating process. Thanks again for watching and you're in the giveaway coming soon!
Hi Karen, awesome finds!
Thank you! It's always incredible to find such cool things on the beach. You're entered (again) in the giveaway, keep an ear open for announcements and good luck!
Loved the video, but now I have to watch it again because I was distracted with the fun live chat!! 💗
Thanks Sandra! Ya know, I love the premieres because it's a chance for us to chatter. You can always watch the video later, it's great to hang out with all the rock buddies when we get a chance! Cheers!
Beautiful finds!
Thank you! You're entered in the upcoming giveaway, stay tuned and good luck!
That beach is so beautiful, makes me want to take a road trip lol. That she’ll fossil making a heart is really cool. The detail in some of those fossils like the one at 11:51 is 🤩. I think my favorite one you found was the parinopecten propatulus at 14:44. The End made me burst out load laughing.. that was a funny idea 🤣
Nice video!!
Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you! Looking forward to your upcoming video!
Cool finds !!
Keep rockin!!👍😎
Thank you, Timothy! I appreciate you watching (and you were entered in the giveaway of course) rock on!
Always thrilled to find hearts in nature
❤️💙💛💜
Best of luck Karen
Absolutely a favorite! Thanks for watching and you're entered in the upcoming giveaway, stay tuned and good luck!
Love the fossil education thank you
Always a pleasure! And you're entered in the giveaway, again! Best of luck!
Truly enjoying all the adventures, finds and information. Bonus the Cute Dogs!!
Thank you! The dogs always love to go hounding 😂. Thanks for coming along on the adventures, you're entered in the upcoming giveaway so stay tuned!
You got my wife laughing with your comment about teredo wood, because I call Dorito wood very much on purpose 😂
That's so awesome that your wife got it! Yeah, Cheeto or Dorito wood just fits doesn't it?! Thanks for watching and you're entered in the next giveaway!
Oh yeah, the heart shape is sweet. Learned some new fossils here, this was excellent. I love growing my mind, especially when its rock, fossil or geology. I love history! What a great day out there on the beach, some really pretty views. Thanks for sharing your passion and hard work!
Yes, growing you mind is so rewarding! It's great to find things...because it leads to research. Then, of course the more you find out, the more you know you don't know. That leads to more research, lol. Gotta love it! Thanks for watching and coming along on the adventure!
Great video Karen. Awesome to spend a few minutes at the beach with you and the pebble pups!!! Amazing finds on your hounding adventure. Ohhhh that piece of bone… my guess is a whale ear bone. Please, please let us know what it is when you find out.
My favourite beach find has to be a perfectly round beach tumbled piece of amethyst, the size of a quarter, found on the shores of Lake Superior. I created an Innuksuk, for my daughter ( Christmas gift) using basalt and white quartz and used the amethyst piece as the head. It worked perfectly.
Thanks for taking me along on your adventure. Sending the love from Canada.
Hey Michelle, your favorite beach find sounds soooo cool! What you did with it sounds even cooler! I promise I will share with you what the bone is as soon as I find out. I'm so intrigued. Thanks for coming along on the adventures and of course you're in the next giveaway!
Nice finds.
Thank you! Always a pleasure!
Gonna have to find your video on the octopus. This was an excellent video. The one at 11:40 was awesome! Lots of good ones really.
Thank you! The Octopus was for Theo's Maker's Challenge. Hopefully you found the video, that was quite the undertaking. Thanks for watching and you're entered in the upcoming giveaway, stay tuned!
You getting more and more clever with you editing. With the music and you on the beach, I'm not sure if you were a rockhounding beach girl or a beaching rock girl. Either way lots of cool rocks and fossils. I always look forward to the "cutting of the rocks". In my head that was with a deep voice and a bit of reverberation. I liked the one that was looking through mystic seaweed into a magical ocean.🧜♀️ Take care, be happy, safe and a bit of a dreamer. 😷⚒ cheers!🥂 The beginning...
Thanks for the sweet feedback. I don't know which came first; the beaching rock girl or the rocking beach girl, been doing both since I was a coppertone baby 😂. It all feels like home, even if we're in the beach without the water (ie. desert 😁) as long as that sun is shining! Yes, that one totally looked like mystic seaweed! And forevermore shall be called thus! Thanks for watching and you make sure to keep your happy, safe, dreamer on full tilt as well!
Hi, I'm new to your channel and soooo glad I finally found you!!! Loved your dogs playing as you looked for your treasures!!! There were so many rocks I would have had to take home with me, I just can't pass up a beautiful colored rock, or a weird shaped one. I'd probably need a pick up truck to take 'em all home, lol. Your knowledge about what each rock was is amazing to me. I've got a forgettery and no memory!!! I'm looking forward to more of your video's!!! Take care, stay safe, happy, healthy and warm!!! 😊
Thank you, Suzie! Sorry it took me a second to get back to you, was down with a case of ick. So glad you found us too! I hear you about wanting to take all the rocks home, it's hard to be disciplined (really hard). I love sharing so thanks so much for watching and you're entered in the giveaway coming up soon. Stay tuned and good luck!
@@OzoneFineArtVentures I hope you are feeling much better!!! I'd completely forgotten about the give away, duhhh!!! lol. I was just glad to see all the beautiful rocks!!! And I wanted to be there to pick up a few that you "over-looked", LOL!!! Take Care!!!
Your very informative. Great video.
Thanks so much! You're 'doubled down' with two entries in the giveaway. Cheers!
Awesome weather! Love me a quality bivalve!
That weather is so good for one's mood and disposition! And who doesn't love a good quality bivalve? They just don't make em like they used to. You're in the giveaway running, good luck!
Great finds! Thanks for another awesome video!✌🤠
Thanks, Kyla! It's way more fun to share the hunt! You're in the running for the giveaway, good luck!
@@OzoneFineArtVentures I'm sure it is. Such beautiful weather too😍 We have snow and cold here in MT. Was great to see that sunny beach and your smile! Awesome! Love you videos Karen!
Another great video! Next time, I’d like to see you pan the whole beach before you go in for the closeups. What interesting treasures you encounter! Nicely done!!!
Thanks for the suggestion, Mark. I'll try to remember next time. A lot of the time I don't do a sweep because I'd rather not put someone nearby in a video without their consent 😁. You're entered, of course, in the giveaway. Best of luck!
Nice video Karen, you always finds some pretty cool things!
I always say there's never a wasted day on the beach. It does make it EVEN more fun when there are cool finds, though. 😁 Thanks for watching and you're in the running for the giveaway!
Just found your videos and subscribed:) leaving from Washington state March 1st to head down the 1 to SoCal to visit family:)
I’m usually a seaglasser, but I’m so fascinated with all the fossils and agates! Can’t wait to hit up some Oregon beaches:) any suggestions on “must stop” beaches would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the fossil knowledge!!🌊🌊🐚🐚
Hey Stacy, thanks so much for subscribing and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. The way the hunting season goes on the coast is 'follow the gravel'. So my recommendation when you cruise the 1 is to make plenty of stops and maybe have some binoculars to 'glass' the beach stretches for good wash outs. That's literally what we do. I can solidly say that Agate Beach near Newport is not Agate-y at all, the gems are under lots of sand there. I hope you have a great time and find lots of treasures. You're also entered in the upcoming giveaway, good luck!
Awwwww. Super cute ending 🥰. Loved the video! You have me curious about all the fossils I’ve never taken home. We have sooooooo many here in WI. I’m sure my garden rocks have a whole bunch. Spring to do list 🤩.
Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤
Stay Crystal 💫
Maribeth
Thanks, Maribeth! When I opened that shell and it was a little disappointing, I had to do something to jazz it up a bit 😂. I hope you get into some of your fossils and find some cool surprises! Thanks for coming along on the adventure, Cheers!
Keep creating.
Thank you! Hope you are too, and you're entered in the upcoming giveaway, good luck!
“whale eye socket”? from the podcast show and tell.👍🏻. Some cool finds! i was hoping for a pearl to show in that last shell but that was a pretty neat “find” inside.😂😂
Yep, the podcast show and tell was an opportunity for me to giddily share these because I couldn't wait until releasing the video 🤣. I was so excited to open the clam shell, one day I will find something cool inside. This time wasn't it so I decided I'd put something there instead 😂. Thanks for watching and you're in the giveaway, good luck!
Hiya Karen, my favorite fossil from the beach is opalized coral and sea shells 🐚.
Boy, opalized coral would be so insane to find! What a dream score! The shells are always so endearing, there's something so graceful and fragile about them and to have them preserved for so long feels so precious. Thanks for watching and you're in the giveaway, good luck!
Haaaa! Well played outro KBritt
Tee hee, when I opened that bad boy and it was an empty anti-climax, I figured it would be more fun to add something. 😂 Thanks and you're in the running for the giveaway...making you a box of course anyway! Cheers!
I'm jealous of your t-shirt weather in January, we have a foot of snow on the ground here in Ohio and are supposed to get up to 2 more feet at the end of the week. Loved the valentine's fossil!
That was such a great little pineapple express we were having. T-shirt weather on the beach here often doesn't even happen during the summer 😂. What's funny, is that we've been waiting for snow to happen in the Cascades so we can go split boarding...and you have the snow! We have some cross jealousy here 🤣. Thanks for watching and you're entered in the next giveaway, stay tuned!
Wow just nice one
Great vid as always some really good finds and fossils just sitting there 👍
The fossils just taunt you when they're just sitting there, right? 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I just love your energy! And your videos!! Thanks for creating such inspiring and entertaining content! xoxoxo
The End is sooooo cute. Well done!
Thank you so much!! It's so fun to share all those cool things on the beach. You're entered in the giveaway, keep an eye out for announcements. Best of luck!
@@OzoneFineArtVentures 🙌
😯🤩😍
Also, depending what beach you may need a permit to take certain fossils.
It's always a really good idea to check your location against any special rules for that site to be sure. Thanks for watching!
Pups fossils beach yay
All in all, a totally good day, eh?! Also, so that you know, you did make it into the giveaway even though I didn't have a chance to comment back to you before it happened. Thanks again for watching!
@@OzoneFineArtVentures thank you I saw that u put me in😉 .
You sure know your fossils. I find coral fossils in the fields near the creeks when I go arrowhead hunting. They get all broken up by the farmers plowes so it is hard to find a really good one. I hope that bone is an eyes socket. The End. lol.
The more I learn, the more I learn I don't know 😂 but the research is so fun! The coral fossils sound awesome and of course arrowheads are totally neat to find. I hope that bone is an eye socket too, I have some folks helping me so we'll see if we can't get and ID. Meanwhile, you're entered in the upcoming giveaway so keep an eye out. Good luck!
Your lucky your beach has rocky areas mine does not and I wish I could find one of those even though I live in a city that used to be in the ocean 128 Million years ago
January and your in short sleeves, time to move out of Minnesota.
Haa haa, right?! We know the folks that come from the south because they're still wearing jackets on days like that day, lol. Thanks again for watching!
I am wanting to head over to the beach to look for fossils some day. Where is this located? What are some other easy places to go? Loved the video!
This is central coast, Oregon. I would say Beverly Beach (this is very near to the video spot) is great because there aren't treacherous cliffs to contend with. There are usually cool thing to find there too but it's anyone's guess during the season (winter/spring) how much sand or gravel will be present. Thanks for watching and you're entered in the next giveaway!
Thanks so much! I’m in central Oregon and plan to head to the coast sometime this year.
@@seastheday2020 That's funny, we love going to where you are to hunt rocks! Go figure 😆
I’ve been out of Oregon for awhile and just moved back so I want to do a lot of exploring in central and eastern Oregon as well as the coast. I’m just waiting for covid to calm down!
Do you see any sea pickles on your Oregon beaches?
We have Nudibranchs and Chitons, those are pretty pickley right? It's always so cool to see them. The tide pools are a personal favorite when we get super low tides, a bit distracting from rocks sometimes as a matter of fact 😂. You're entered in the giveaway, keep an eye out for announcements. Good luck!
