The X-Men cartoon premiered in 1992, adapting stories published from the seventies, eighties, and nineties, grafting nineties characters into the narrative where they weren't originally, and for the seventies/eighties characters who were there originally, they were mostly redesigned to wear their nineties costumes. I think that's what "Peter Parker" is trying to convey.

Seeing scenes like these as a kid expounded my mind and imagination in ways I'm still to this day discovering. Big shoutout to the writers and producers of the time who PROPERLY borrowed from the source material and created this masterpiece.

The reason why the show was such a success is because they didn’t stray too far from the source material. Sure, they made some substitutions due to the popularity of other characters at the time, but they worked all of them into the story seamlessly. Jean gave some of her best lines and facial expressions during this story arc and the cartoon does all of that justice. It’s such a shame the movies couldn’t do a better job. Just follow the material. That’s what made fans love the xmen and that’s what will make fans love your movies.

Fun fact: One of the heroes that felt The Phoenix presence was Thor. Interestingly, the comics revealed many years later after the release of this episode that Thor's real mother was a woman called Firehair, the very first person to wield The Phoenix Force.

Man when I tell you I love Storm in Rogue in this series. Those two played no games when it came to protecting the team. The Phoenix force is so interesting. The X-men didn't know all what it could do. For anyone who don't know the force is the nexus of all psionic energy. It can absorb it, redirect it. Transmute matter and all. So directly hitting it with psionic energy attack typically won't work. It is immune to it. Storm and Rogue were really the only two X-men here that could've really battled it. What some people don't know about Storm in the comics is that she can manipulate the elements running through your body and not directly attack you with energy. If this wasn't Jean and had this series shown this part of Storm's power too, she could have caused extreme wind pressure and exploded the host from the inside, or froze it's organ, bones, heart and shatter them or cause the host to go brain dead by manipulating the electrical forces in it. Phoenix would've had no choice but to leave the host's body but she would have put it in a cosmic egged for a time to heal it. This was Jean so of course Storm wouldn't even attempt that. As we saw, she got worried when Rogue started absorbing her power, Again it wasn't energy directed at her. Had she not thought quick enough to get Rogue off her, Rogue could have potentially weakened her.

Empress Lilandra was suppose to be involved and they did reshoots and changed it all up
@Farts are Funny No. Before Dark Phoenix even filmed, it was planned to be a 2 parter. Jessica Chastain was supposed to play Lilandra. But then the Disney/Fox merger happened (but the production team weren't told about it yet/it wasn't made public at that time). The studio knew there wasn't going to be another movie after Dark Phoenix so they ordered the director to scrap his prior plan and merge or cut out certain elements of his 2 parter script into one film. This all happened right before they were suppose to start shooting so it took everybody by surprise with very little time to prepare. Chastain's character was changed and big chunks of the film basically had to be re-written on the spot during shooting. Then they had to reshoot the third act because the studio wanted all the x-men together at the end and the original third act mainly involved Jean, Scott, and Xavier at the United Nations building battling aliens. It did have an invasion sequence similar to Captain Marvel toward the very end. But Disney was influential in certain changes made, like Jean's appearance of the Phoenix due to the fact that Kevin Feige was a creative consultant on the movie giving him a window into the production of the film. She initially had a more fiery orange-ish look (you sort of see it in the first teaser trailer toward the end when she's sucking in the phoenix force) but Disney didn't want that used so Fox changed it and re-rendered those scenes to a purple-ish pink space dust-like effect.
X men dark Phoenix was a good movie good fight scenes and descent acting plus way better than last stand where the Phoenix was a split personality instead of being from space so dark Phoenix is more comic accurate
She could have turned everyone of them to cinder. And even as the Phoenix discorevs and experiences emotions she grows erratic and so much more powerful. That's the point. Powerful emotions feed her exponentionally. Until she turns dark, then bye bye! Not something you want around your backyard.

Not like in the Dark Phoenix movie where we can see nothing about the Phoenix..like speak, power.. in movie it's all about Jean.. Do three films or more entwining the Phoenix Saga with introducing the x men to the MCU. This could be a new threat in the MCU universe.

This is going to be a really hard choice for Fox to re-adapt the Dark Phoenix Saga again in the next X-Men movie after Deadpool 2. I mean, if they want to re-adapt this story-arc than they have to at least earn this event to happen in the movies, not just beg for it to better because no one like the last attempt of its' adaptation in The Last Stand. All I am saying is that they have to take their time and just let the new character breath their own air and just let them grow before we get to this one event.

always liked how it showed more powerful heroes taking note, thor and dr strange and even the watcher. Loved this when I was a kid remember the xmen fighting the imperial guard the most.

Phoenix is just too damn powerful for anyone. Even Dr strange, thor and the watcher sensed it. To top it in uncanny X-Men#137 the watcher himself said that the phoenix force is second only to the creator ( the one above all).

Jeff's WCW2K Universe 95-97 that’s what I mean, I love both the soundtrack in this episode and I love how Rogue’s always looking out for Storm as a sister, in fact that’s what I love about all the X Men, they look out for each other like they’re family. That’s something what Bryan Singer missed
Man when I tell you I love Storm in Rogue in this series. Those two played no games when it came to protecting the team. The Phoenix force is so interesting. The X-men didn't know all what it could do. For anyone who don't know the force is the nexus of all psionic energy. It can absorb it, redirect it. Transmute matter and all. So directly hitting it with psionic energy attack typically won't work. It is immune to it. Storm and Rogue were really the only two X-men here that could've really battled it. What some people don't know about Storm in the comics is that she can manipulate the elements running through your body and not directly attack you with energy. If this wasn't Jean and had this series shown this part of Storm's power too, she could have caused extreme wind pressure and exploded the host from the inside, or froze it's organ, bones, heart and shatter them or cause the host to go brain dead by manipulating the electrical forces in it. Phoenix would've had no choice but to leave the host's body but she would have put it in a cosmic egged for a time to heal it. This was Jean so of course Storm wouldn't even attempt that. As we saw, she got worried when Rogue started absorbing her power, Again it wasn't energy directed at her. Had she not thought quick enough to get Rogue off her, Rogue could have potentially weakened her.
Knowing what we know about storm today, this could’ve been a very even fight.
When a Saturday morning cartoon can do a story better than TWO movies, that is really saying something.

But I heard that dark Phoenix was suppose to be 2 parts and Disney somehow meddled with the filming so I can’t blame them. 🤧 apparently the story was gonna be more comic wise. Empress Lilandra was suppose to be involved and they did reshoots and changed it all up
@Farts are Funny No. Before Dark Phoenix even filmed, it was planned to be a 2 parter. Jessica Chastain was supposed to play Lilandra. But then the Disney/Fox merger happened (but the production team weren't told about it yet/it wasn't made public at that time). The studio knew there wasn't going to be another movie after Dark Phoenix so they ordered the director to scrap his prior plan and merge or cut out certain elements of his 2 parter script into one film. This all happened right before they were suppose to start shooting so it took everybody by surprise with very little time to prepare. Chastain's character was changed and big chunks of the film basically had to be re-written on the spot during shooting. Then they had to reshoot the third act because the studio wanted all the x-men together at the end and the original third act mainly involved Jean, Scott, and Xavier at the United Nations building battling aliens. It did have an invasion sequence similar to Captain Marvel toward the very end. But Disney was influential in certain changes made, like Jean's appearance of the Phoenix due to the fact that Kevin Feige was a creative consultant on the movie giving him a window into the production of the film. She initially had a more fiery orange-ish look (you sort of see it in the first teaser trailer toward the end when she's sucking in the phoenix force) but Disney didn't want that used so Fox changed it and re-rendered those scenes to a purple-ish pink space dust-like effect.
X men dark Phoenix was a good movie good fight scenes and descent acting plus way better than last stand where the Phoenix was a split personality instead of being from space so dark Phoenix is more comic accurate

This is going to be a really hard choice for Fox to re-adapt the Dark Phoenix Saga again in the next X-Men movie after Deadpool 2. I mean, if they want to re-adapt this story-arc than they have to at least earn this event to happen in the movies, not just beg for it to better because no one like the last attempt of its' adaptation in The Last Stand. All I am saying is that they have to take their time and just let the new character breath their own air and just let them grow before we get to this one event.
