Installing and Configuring OpenVas in Kali 2022 Full Working Install

In this video I'll show you how install and configure OpenVas on Kali linux 2022. We'll also cover one of the most frustrating aspects of openvas, and that is updating the feeds. Keep in mind that the feed update process in Kali linux is different than the one in openvas docker or even the Openvas app installation. Kali created script to make the installation simple to use, but with that same simplicity there may be many things that don't work and break in different versions or release of kali.

sudo apt install openvas -- installs openvas
sudo gvm-setup -- runs the setup script
sudo gvm-stop -- stops gvm service so we install the feeds
sudo -u _gvm greenbone-nvt-sync -- updates nvts
sudo -u _gvm greenbone-scapdata-sync -- updates scapdata
sudo -u _gvm greenbone-certdata-sync --updates certs
sudo gvm-start -- start openvas
