This video also applies for the 2006-2012 Triumph Daytona (R) with the additional steps of removing fairings. All together this fix only cost me $445 and its an easy job. Having my local dealership or mechanic shop do it would easily climb into the $700 range.

    Hey great video im trying to change the clutch plates too , can u please explain the difference between the outermost friction plate compared to rest of the friction plates

    • @RideOki
      @RideOki  Před 7 měsíci +1

      The only thing my Haynes manual says is that there are “three different types of friction plates. The innermost, outermost, and the rest of them. The innermost has a larger internal diameter.” When I was changing them the inner and outermost were also darker colored!

    Thank you for your effort. It would be much better if the camera can be held more stably.

      Noted! was trying the gopro mounted on a baseball cap method but my gopro is too old and has less than great stabilization. I look forward to producing better content now that im back in Okinawa! But i hope the video was of some assistance to you!

      @@RideOkiI'd rather have a shaky POV video than no video at all!!!
      Thanks for making this video. The point of view shows everything that needs to be shown, and it's much better than a forum post with pictures!

      Absolutely thank you for watching! I’m glad the point of the video was still clear and easy to follow I hope in the future to get better video!

      Don't let the push for producing "better" videos keep you from creating content. I've fallen into that hole and I don't make or upload videos when maybe I should.

    Missing the worst step. Try to put in the clutch carter... :(

      Yeah sorry my camera died and i didnt notice it. I covered it briefly and even though i've taken that clutch case off many times its still a pain took me like 20 minutes. Ill definitely be redoing this video eventually but probably with my Daytona. Thanks for watching!

      Are you sure about the last friction plate? Normally it s the bigger diam that you put at the beginning.

    • @RideOki
      @RideOki  Před rokem +1

      @@oloc2737 yes Im sure. For the Daytona and Triple the Narrow plate is the inner plate (the first one you put inside the bike) and the outer plate (the last plate) is only noticeable by the darker colour of the plate.

    • @oloc2737
      @oloc2737 Před rokem

      @@RideOki on my repair manual it s writing internal put the higher intern diam and darker.

      @RideOki  Před rokem

      @@oloc2737 double checked my manual as well for the plain plates yes I misread it. 2.0mm until you run out and the 1.6mm are the outermost.
