Donna Summer's voice was an instrument 🎼she could sing any genre, even sing the phonebook and make it sound fantastic 🤎that's why she won 5 competitive grammys in 5 different categories! No artist has yet to achieve that feat! She could make her voice do whatever she wanted it to 😮😳🫶🏽🔥🤎🤍🕊Rest in heaven, Queen.
Donna Summer can sing any genre of music. Her singing the Motown classics was phenominal. When she sings I Heard It Through The Grapevine I almost lost it. She's my ultimate favorite female singer. 🏝🏝May She Rest In Paradise🏝🏝
I wish I had more time to watch the midnight special back in the day but I was too busy working and i'm going to school. But I have more time now and realize how much I missed fifty years ago.
Donna podía cantar absolutamente cualquier cosa sin ningún tipo de esfuerzo, y sin errar una sola nota, sin dudas una de las mejores voces de la historia, tan mal que solo se la tenga como una "cantante disco", nada más lejos... Eterna Donna
No She was the Pioneer and Best Singer of Disco Tunes because she gave birth to it!! But the Music industry knew and knows that she is a Complete Artiste that’s why she is inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame ahead of Tina Turner and has also won 5 Grammys in 5 different Categories of Music from Rock, Dance/Disco, R&B & Gospel 💎💎💎👑👑👑💫❤️🙏🏾
I love Donna Summer and also I love the 1992 movie "Sister Act" with Whoopi Goldberg. When I heard "Heatwave", I immediately thought of Delores and The Girls (Jenifer Lewis and Charlotte Crossley)
AWESOME video! They are so cute! Just a bunch of good friends HAVING A BLAST! You could see she loved her husband to be Bruce Sudano. Donna had an amazin' voice! She was the QUEEN of any musical genre bar none! Her stage presence was UNMATCHED! Grace, beauty, brains, talent, personality, quick-witted...I could go on and on!! I was born the same year as Donna and miss her dearly! I know she would still be charming us today!
@@themidnightspecialtvshow the weather records prove there were many record-setting cold temperatures set feb 1979 from chicago to pittsburgh and elsewhere. many were home watching this.
Too bad some network back in the day didn't allow a special in which Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Donna Summer, and Gladys Knight were featured singing each other's songs. I've always wanted to hear Donna sing "Midnight Train To Georgia".
I only wished that her and Joe *Bean* Esposito had got together instead of her and Bruce Sudano. At least her and Joe could've sung together on more future recordings.
they were singing these songs to appeal to 30-45 year old people at the time watching this show. a waste of time when they could have sang something new.

Simply the BEST! Somebody wrote a comment and I love it for it is so true, "Donna fills your eyes and ears with beauty."

THE RANGE.
Gosh what a beauty that Donna and seemingly sings all these styles so beautifully and effortlessly.
She could sing any genre well!

this is probably 1979 44 years ago.
I wished that I was born earlier in life than 1982. I would have enjoyed watching this episode on a Friday night back in the day.🎉😢
So ,they did more than Heaven Knows !! Beautiful ❤
Donna singing Heard it through the Grapevine is BEYOND thrilling.
She does sound like Gladys Knight who did the original version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine."😊👍👍👍👍👍
Donna seems to be having a great time 😂
Donna and Bruce, so sweet!!!
1978 With Donna and Brooklyn Dreams. They were promoting their hit HEAVEN KNOWS on this episode.

Bruce Sudano was one fortunate man to have been married to Donna Summer!!
I grew up listening to Donna as a kid

Tienes total razón! Una voz soberbia, ponía la voz donde le daba la gana! Una Superestrella capaz de cantar mucho más que Disco Music!

Wow thanks for posting this!❤❤❤
Thanks so much for upload this gem. Donna was a so beautiful woman, but also a woman so unique as an artist. ❤
Fabulous 👏👏👏
love it!
Thanks for today's uploads 😉
Great performance but correction this is NOT a Motown Medley- it's a medley that features some Motown hits among others from the 60s.
Heatwave nice performance
Same night as Paul Jabara amazing performances....can you show those as well please?

That would have been majestic.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Shame groups like this are no longer around
Donna channeling Frankie Valli!
what's the last song?
Donna Summer could make someone else's song sound better.
Donna sure did love white men. 😂😂

What are you crying about?
What was Donna thinking? Singing with these Bozo’s
her european crew gave her a sound people liked but by 1979 she was living and working in the usa.
Eh, she married one of those *Bozo's*,soooooo.....why not sing with them?
