========= Angels Calling LYRICS ==========
Sent to kill, to watch no man’s land
Snipers are moving unseen
Fight for land, to lose it again
Shrapnel is filling the air
Hell on earth, the trenches mean death, better keep your head down low
Charge their lines, the ultimate test it’s a synchronized sacrifice
Get the wounded after dark
Left alone in no man’s land
Maddening chaos at the front
Dream of heaven
Angels are calling your name
Shells and guns, a rifle and scope
Bullets are wearing your name
Losing track of time and of space
Midnight at sanity’s edge
Losing friends to artillery shells, at the break of dawn
Break their will, as yours has been broken, they’re here alone, dream of home
Charge at dawn to gain a yard
Scout at night to guard their lines
Leave your life in fortune’s hand
When the bullet hits its mark
Know your time in hell has been served
You won’t return to home

Wouldn't say it marked the start of trench warfare, definitely was the war which used it the most but for example in the American Civil War, in some areas they had proto WW1 style trench Warfare, especially during the overland campaign.
Psst. Ordet "calling" i thumbnailen är felstavat med ett L för lite. Kan hända den bästa! (bevisligen)
@@kousand9917trenches were dug for battles, but it was never the true method of war (doctrine of war) until the Great War. The Great War radically changed the entire landscape of how war worked. Gone were the days of wandering armies that would fight pitched battles, now there were true frontlines that extended the full length of the territory at war. It’s this distinction that makes the Great War the turning point in combat. The birth and death of true trench warfare, then the birth of mechanised warfare. WW2 developed mechanised warfare even further, but ushered in the era of combined arms. This was the status who for decades, but recently there is the renaissance of trench warfare and rise drone warfare.

The part that always sends a chill down my spine is the line "Losing friends to artillery shells at the break of dawn". It really drives home how suddenly and pointlessly someone you've known and loved all your life is whisked away without ever getting a dramatic send off or a heroic sacrifice like in the movies. Really makes me thankful for not having been born in that era.
its happening today... again... because of one deranged gremlin from the kremlin
@@vitsobotka6268”Gremlin from the Kremlin” lmao
What a true masterpiece. The lyrics have such a powerful meaning about life and death, the horror of war, the afterlife...
PLEASE bring this song back on the set list for the future! 🎸🔥
Angels are callin your nammmeeeee!!!
Calling you home!
@@mranon8508*Epic guitar and drum finish* 🎸🥁
Hell yeah
Nah, they are calling your ass, not you.
Llamándote a casa
Yay, the best track by Sabaton ever made comes back
i know. both vesrions of the song are SO EPIC.
It's no wonder that World War I was the point where what we now call PTSD really became more widely known to the public at large. Prior to WWI, the pattern of warfare most often consisted of a handful of day-long battles in a campaign season, with weeks or months between each. Maybe some sieges, but those still mostly followed the pattern of brief periods of intense combat with long lower-intensity stretches in between. WWI, though, was months and years of soldiers being *constantly* in combat. Soldiers in those trenches essentially *lived* on the front lines 24/7, where an attack could be ordered or an enemy attack show up at any time, where a sniper bullet or an artillery shell could strike at any moment. In those circumstances, enduring the stresses and horrors constantly and with few opportunities to escape from them, it's no wonder that soldiers in WWI suffered from PTSD to degrees and frequencies that the world had never seen previously.
PTSD was still a thing. They called it soldiers heart.
After ww2 that’s when psychology and counseling began with humanistic studies from Freud and then Carl Rodger’s. Yet there is still no cure for ptsd.

Because it’s not just a psychological issue. It’s the physiological result of your brain spending so much time in fight or flight mode that the neuro receptors responsible for managing stress are permafried.
This song really adds context to "Ghost in the Trenches" and how badass Pegamagabow really was.
So true.
@@nicolaso-e174 there is a difference in what you say and the reality that Sabaton teaches history but your lack of research skills leads you to make such a dumb comment like that.
...
@@nicolaso-e174 That wasn't what made him badass. What made him badass was the ability to slip behind enemy lines while German soldiers were sleeping and cut off pieces of their uniforms to break their morale.
@nicolaso-e174 there is a difference between "oh wow this soldier did some amazing stuff during the war" and "war is good"
This version is great, but the version with Apocalyptica is absolutely incredible.
I am having a 39 degree fever at the moment. Yet this Song makes ice run down my spine.
For all those who call for war, know that Angels are calling your names and the Devil is laughing over your grave
Hope you feel better man that sucks
saddest sabaton song in my opinion and my most listened too. dream of heaven, angels are calling your name
The intro is incredible
sabaton is doing attero dominatus lyric videos now hell yeah
Guys we should charge their lines
Agreed
guys, we have charged into yellow clouds, should we go on?
Yes right behind you brother
At dawn
the art is so beautiful
First time hearing the original song without the audio compression from the original release
My grandpa was in WW1, he was mustard gased. It messed up his lungs. Thank you for this song.
YES! I love these great war songs! The original world war was one of, if not the most vicious and brutal war in history, especially given what was seen up to that moment. The world literally had never seen anything like it before, in the most literal sense you can imagine. Hell is mud and barbed wire, and the screams of the damned are drowned by the thundering cacophany of death. Keep up the good work, Sabaton
Sabaton is a really different - but absolutely epic - kind of "Art". A new "Art of War", I guess!
I always come back to this song because of the guitar riffs and keyboard solo partway through. (3:50)
hurray!!!!
Detta är en av mina favorit låtar !!🤘🤌🎸🍻🍷
Just realised I have never listened to the original and always listened to the apocalyptica mix
Feels illegal to be this early...masterpiece as always! 🙌
The high notes are very impressive! Amazing song as always
Been to no man’s land this song is chilling after hearing the stories about how many died and how they died there from fighting over a tiny piece of land that both sides wanted to have
I was just wanting to read the lyrics, then BAM! The boys deliver.
Perfect!
Can you want me to have a million dollars please
By far, my favorite from Attero Dominatus
The violin at the intro reaches the soul
Underrated af
Me encanta que Sabaton siga sacando videos de sus antiguas canciones, es una forma de conocerlas. ¡Aguante Sabaton!
We are all the God's most powerfull warriors keep up your fights lads and never give up
It is by far the best work, with the best lyrics they have ever produced.
Masterpiece 🤟
The best picture from all Lyric Videos I believe!
Back on the stage! Says, Joachim... :D

I think it is excellent to have included an article on your website about the meaning of the song.
Merci à vous pour les paroles de la chanson 👍. Ça me permet de suivre cette beauté mots par mots. Merci et respect à SABATON ❤️🇨🇵🇸🇪
Such a great riff 🤘
Waking pu to the entire Attero Dominatus album getting lyric videos is the best way to start my morning

one of my favorite songs. Great job! yes yes
Thanks for listening 🤘
Dedicated to the Vietnam Iran and Afghanistan Veterans to all my fallen brothers.
Love it 😍🤘🏻 I really like this artwork.
Cool!!!!
omg-the lyrics are so simple but powerful-those silver spikes reminded me of a lampry which is a fish that sucks blood from other fish-songwise-this was a 'hellfish' feeding on the pain and horror or war-maybe put to much into that but that was going through my head the entire song..another masterpiece gentleman-any chance you be in NY/Long island anytime..love to meet you guys and buy tons of stuff...continued success
This be Great 👍
Would love to see this live
The Angels of Mons.
Another banger and this is another favorite of mine. I don't wanna like this version. I like the other version. The one that was released on November 22nd 2019. That 1 is the best version of this song.
Hey Sabaton! Please do a song about the Angels of Mons 🇬🇧 thansk
❤️🔥
Gotta love that on the title it says "angels caling" and not angels calling
IDK if thse are new, but they do are great
These are some of the earliest songs (I believe) but yeah, they are great!
Early stuff from the third studio album. A classic tho
I will love it if you play that song in Scotland also can you come back to inverness at some point keep up the good work

And I thank you for replying
In my opinion this is better then the newer version
I like the newer version don't get me wrong
❤
I prefer this version over the new version any day of the week.
Essa música ne faz refletir muito sobre os horrores que a guerra pode causar na mente de um homem....
Первые 40 секунд просто волшебные.
Uzansam dokunabilirmiyim acaba 🥰
Sonunda birsey dogru bir yerine geldi gibi
Oh wow its the Apcolyptica collab version
❤❤🤯🤯🤯🥰👈
När kommer ni med en låt/album om "slaget vid Lund", 1676? Det finns en bra inledningstext på monument skrivet av den danske prästen Hans Gerner, 1681.

Apokalyptica
No more bother wars
Is this the collab one or not?
No, this is the album version. The collab is a single that was much later than the Attero Dominatus album
typo in thumbnail
so we not gonna point out calling is missing an L in the thumbnail or?
Maybe Sabaton need to bring some new, well a little different kind of riffs or voices, so new the songs do not become to much copy of the past songs, like this song..( offcourse new but without losing the Sabaton carisma)
This is a past song though
I am the first view🥳
You are so right
REPENT THE HOUR OF OUR LORD OUR GOD IS HERE JESUS IS COMING!
הו אלוהים, רחם על כל אהובי ועל כל מי שישרתו אותך אילו ידעו את תהילתך
if i'm correct, jews don't believe in jesus.
Сабатон уже не тот
great song but tryign to really figure what it about lolz sry
I somehow prefer this over the Apocalyptica collab.
The other one of this sing is a bit better imo
These are just ai created videos.. Bit disappointing
no?
AI can't make shit like this last time I checked
Oh, no, i would say that the art from this new release is real the last few looked like ai and were dreadful.
Sabaton True Lyrics every time I listen History through music Excellent
