- While working as a reporter for the newspaper, Barbie visits a local museum and learns of an incredible secret! Barbie interviews
Professor Dudley, the museum’s history expert, who shows her a priceless ancient mirror he discovered as a young explorer.
But the mirror is not complete!
The professor, now an old man, tells Barbie that he was never able to find the mirror’s four missing jeweled treasures. He also tells her of a mysterious legend, which says that the mystical powers of the mirror will be unlocked when the jewels are put in their proper places.
When the professor reveals a secret treasure map to the locations of the jewels, Barbie, always ready for a challenge, offers to take up the quest for the missing pieces of the mystic mirror.
Can you guide Barbie on her worldwide adventure, and help her explore exotic lands, find the jeweled treasures, and unlock the secrets of the mystic mirror? A fantastic journey awaits!
Each level contains a number of traps, puzzles, and collectible items. You must solve the puzzles and avoid the traps. In order to complete the game, you must complete all the levels and recover the four treasures. You start the game with a number of Chances. The number depends on the level of difficulty you chose. An easy game will give you more Chances; a hard game will give you fewer. Each time you fall down a pit or are knocked over, you lose a Chance. The game ends when you have used all your Chances. You can earn extra Chances by collecting ten Mini-hearts or an extra Chance Power-up.

I never knew that! Makes me really sad. Always felt that the ending was too open and not explaining anything. Wish there was more info too, I just found few pictures.

very nostalgic, the levels were much harder than it appear. for some odd reason I had such a hard with the egypt level. i remember always being consume by quicksand and that would always terrifies me as a kid

Wow this is nuts seeing how much animation has changed over the years I played games like this when I was a kid ( the games were a few years old by the time I had them 😂) I saw this and had serious flashbacks of when I was like 5 playing this game and laughing my head off when I fell off a moving platform or was hit by an obstacle.. or when I finally finished a level and would do a little dance... man I miss those days... back when CZcams didn't exist yet witch actually wasn't that long ago what was it 9? 10 years ago? Something like that anyway so we had to do everything our selves with no help or walkthroughs and it always made me feel proud because I did it myself... no one else helped me sure it took time but that was the fun part learning how to do it through out the game and then kicking butt when boys said that Barbie games were easy. Not all Barbie games are easy people! But It was fun to watch them struggle for 20-30 minutes then finish the level after them in 5 minutes... yep I'm a tech girl through and through...sometimes I like to show off just to mess with idiots who are too arrogant to see straight but don't we all?

A fair heads up if you still consider-- the game's controls are quite difficult to get right!! The controls are delayed, so it'll take some patience to adjust. xD

I was off work and decided to play a few levels for nostalgia.. 3 1/2 hours later I finally beat the game! It drove me a bit nuts lol. When I was little I remember not even knowing how to do more than run and jump! The music and sound effects are in a special place in my heart.
omg I played this game a lot during my childhood. I don't think I ever finished it. Also surprised you managed to complete all the coconut dropping parts in Africa in one try. When I played that level I think I was on the verge of tears at one point because the coconuts kept falling exactly where I went and I had to restart over and over again.
Of the three Barbie computer games I had (Barbie Riding Club, Barbie Super Sports, and this Barbie Explorer) this was the hardest game to complete! I believe I got this game when I was 8 or ten and I think I was 16 when I finally finished it. And my reaction at the end was just “WHAT?!?!!” Though I’m pretty sure most of you would agree this is the most difficult Barbie game.
This is like a combination of Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider in the Barbie version. I used to want this game so bad when I was a kid, but couldn't afford it and couldn't find it in my nearest store.

This game brings back some memories even though I was a boy at that time. My cousin had a ps1 so I decided to try this game and I found it so difficult for me to complete it. After I practiced using the r1 button to walk it was easy to complete all 3 locations except for Babylon which was so freaking hard because of those water springs before entering the tower. How I miss my childhood

I used to play this game with my Grandmother as a kid. She spent quite a bit of time trying to help me beat it. I have such mixed feelings about the game since --- as this player clearly figured out, its controls were just THAT bad and it took forever to get through the whole thing --- but the nostalgia is real.

This was my favorite Barbie game of all the ones I played as a kid... it was harddd but so much fun. :') Took me forever to finish it, but when I finally did I was so mad that it ended with a TBC and no sequel ever happened. 😂😭
Just recently I re-downloaded it for nostalgia's sake... but Barbie kinda "sticks" when she jumps before jumping a certain direction and that was too annoying for me to continue, and also my fingers were not happy trying to play it on a flat laptop keyboard lol

I've just finished playing this game (it only took a whole week for me to finish this, surprisingly), and i realized that one must have the patience and perseverance to pass every levels, because some parts are a bit tricky and difficult at the same time. But it's a good game, tho a little bit stressful at some points, and some levels are surprisingly easy, if you learned the trick on avoiding and passing obstacles.
