I gained a tremendous amount of respect for Ricky Gervais after this monologue. Also, I liked Tom Hanks for years, he's full of it. I gained a tremendous amount of respect for Ricky Gervais after this monologue. Also, I liked Tom Hanks for years, he's full of it. I boycotted the Golden Globes this year because I no longer want to support the narcissistic, out-of-touch with reality, ungrateful a-holes that are Hollywood telling the rest of us how we should live our lives. This monologue from last year was the best I've seen though.

And ever since, with his pompous "pseudo nice guy" reactions, I've grown a distaste for him. A man of his stature who can't take a few jokes (which, let's face it, were full of truth) has, in fact, turned out to be a much smaller human being than Hanks was thought to be. Martin Scorsese, for example, in the same room, not only took the jokes but he got into the vibe and joked along. See the difference? For less Hanks and more Scorsese in this world.
You can tell Di Caprio has tremendous respect for Gervais. He could take a dig at him. He's a mighty good sport. Same with Scorsese and De Niro, they were in fits. Bless good sports with nothing to hide :)
