- Some of my darkest times came in 2017, after suffering a major injury while competing with the USMNT. My body no longer worked in the ways I used to count on, and I hadn't spent enough time working on my mind.
Today, I dedicate as much attention to my mental health as I do my physical.
Though it's a never ending journey, I have learned ways to quiet and calm my mind, benefiting me both on and off the pitch.
My friend Purpose invited me to participate in this project. And though at times it can be difficult to be this vulnerable with you all, I hope that it continues to break stereotypes and help even just one person that may be going through something similar.

Love this video! Mental health is so important and unfortunately sometimes it isn’t talked about enough. Thank you for not being afraid to open up about your own mental health struggles. It can be so scary to be vulnerable like that.
