We're supposed to believe that someone with a BMI of 60+ is running, jumping, dodging? It's beyond belief. That person would have a coronary within the first minute.

TBF, it's a fictional world, I mean, look at Roadhog from OW. Though TBF, they seem to be trying to aim for a bit more realistic people, which makes a character like this even more silly in context.
There's some quite big lads playing professional rugby who'd disrupt that rule of thumb in a major way, but those are one-in-a-million genetically gifted elite athletes who are so strong that carrying about the extra padding doesn't diminish their (frankly terrifying) stamina and agility.
However, these characters are the opposite of that. They're not at all uncommon or athletic, they're just people whose bellies are as soft as their designers' hands.

Which is funny because it reminds me of that big ugly red "thing" they put in the latest dragon age game. Which I think people also read as trash.

They decide to make a game in a genre that is already oversaturated, and they add a hero that can't get more plain and dull in terms of design and aesthetics. It's literally a fat janitor with an AK.

A competitive shooter that you have to buy to play is already a red sign. It will be dead in a month.
I'd rather buy a game upfront than have microtransactions shoved in my face. The idea of getting games effectively for free is a net negative. It encourages shady practices and all the things we've come to hate about the industry prior to the woke saturation.
@@neonsheep3358 Those things everyone hates about modern gaming have been there in _payed_ games way before the rise of f2p games, and people were already calling out this practice because it was as ridiculous back then as it is. The f2p model simply made these types of games more accessible so getting people hooked up to the real money maker scheme was made easier.

Felt the same way about "extraction shooters" and "battle royal" games, and looking at the state of those two genera of game since they boomed and now busted, I think I've done well to simply avoid them indefinitely.

This game is DOA. You have to buy it when there are F2P competitors. There is no appeal from the characters. This will have a lower player count than SS:KtJL.
I mean we've seen other games lean into the identity politics game but this game is so hardcore about it it has no chance. People that believe in this kind of thinking never buy these products, ever. They ruin it and try to get other people to buy it but it never takes.

I realized that most "Journalist" and Twitter people who put these "pronouns" are the most insufferable and loud individuals in the internet.
I thought the same thing when I booted up Baldur's Gate and got to the character creation screen. All the strength class Warrior types are female, and all the Caster classes are males.

It can be an additional "first" for them by being the first 5 vs 5 game with less than 10 game purchases.

I can honestly say I have zero interest in finding out. But I have a feeling they're going to be some absolutely hilarious videos when this game launches. This game is wrapping itself so tightly into identity politics I can't imagine it's going to end well at all.

At least Sega had the dignity to put that game out of its misery before it was even released. The minute I found out the one character that looked super feminine was actually a drag queen I was so done with that game, what was I even thinking expecting anything decent from a modern game.

The point of pronouns is to make it easier to carry out a conversation so instead of repeating someone's name you refer to them by the appropriate pronoun. The problem is, people have taken pronouns and made them more about their "identity" than being the grammatical tools they are.
What happened to the audience you wanted the game to be inclusive to? I'm a straight white male christian hardcore gamer that's against P2W mechanics and the games not "inclusive" to me, so why would I play it?

from my understanding the game will also have small cutscenes that play when you first boot up the game. apparently these will help establish each characters personality. All I can think is each one is going to be mega cringe

Once me and a bro joined to a bot infested Lazarus map, a map that nobody plays but we had a contract there, we farmed the bots as Drunken Scottish DemoMEN with swords, it was so effective going really fast and beheading the poor bots until we finished our contracts.
Speaking of 90s Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat clones there was one really cool one that was ahead of it’s time and would be the blueprint eventually for the Soul Caliber games and that’s Weaponlord. Should of been a way bigger hit than what it was but got lost in the shuffle of fighter games and came out late in the Genesis/SNES life when most people were starting to look to the next gen consoles.
Let it be the "modern audience" hero shooter, at least they don't destroy an existing IP and did something new. And if this mysterious audience really exists the studio perhaps won't be closed by the end of the year after the game failed miserably.
i think the real problem is how soulless it looks, and how little the characters have any inspiring design traits about them. This just looks like some dude in particular, nothing memorable or stands out

Will this game have a campain? If it will then I'm betting that the plot will be full of holes, the characters are gonna extremely obnoxious (excluding the main antagonist), the levelsand missions will be really unfun and it will likely be filled with bugs.

Even if this game was free to play, no one is playing this trash, but having a price tag on top of it, it's like they made this game to fail. i'll give it 5 month before they announce the inevitable shut down.
There is a Date for a completely open beta though. But still it’s a hard sale for a $40 game in a market where the strongest competitors are established and free. The game looks solid Graphically and Mechanics wise but the overall aesthetics and the social politics being injected into it were just an outright dumb decision bound to divide their already limited audience. Even when the game is coming from veteran devs that know how to make a game like this work, it just doesn’t have the eye candy necessary to attract the audience. Even if the game itself is actually brilliant
When I originally bought fortnite at the highest tier it came with 3 copies of the game for free of course I didn't like 250 bucks since I thought it was going to be big

I'm going to point out that I think the gaming community is tired of hero shooters. Overwatch was the penultimate version of hero shooters and it's fallen off because people have gotten bored with the concept. This game will fail on its own just by being this late to the table.

Team Fortress 2 is free, has a massive community, and has an extensive lore of great characters.
They know the game is going to fail, so they're trying to get as much cash as the can up front.
This would have been a parody at one time. Extrazero nails it here. It's not so much that the game is really woke. It's that all these games are just worse versions of Fortnite and Overwatch. Why would you play Concord when you can just play those better games instead? I guess because it is so unabashedly woke, it does have some ironic entertainment value. You know it's going to be hilariously cringe.
And I mean fortnite (which is free) may still be popular but OverWatch 2 has taken some big hits and is definitely not the Juggernaut it once was, not even close. This just feels like yet another game that the only thing differentiating it from the other stuff is the worst possible things "made for modern audience" slop. Exoprimal was announced to be done, how can any one work on these titles and have high moral knowing the moment it’s reported to be a live service it’s likely doa.
I don’t understand why they keep wasting resources making these games. My son plays Fortnite and Minecraft because his friends play, they have zero interest in any other games. My son plays single player games too, but not any other live service crap.
I mean it's weird to give the smallest amount of credit to somebody like Sega who had their piece of crap very similar with the ugly designs (including a drag queen btw) game hyenas (appropriate name anyway) that they just flat out canceled even though it was done and just like a month or two before release. Even if this wasn’t DEI: The Videogame, the fact that it’s a copy paste of every online sci-fi shooter from the past decade already made it garbage. I legitimately recognize some of the gameplay animations from Destiny.
