When you think about it, it's not that surprising. I'm pretty sure even Swingpoynt mentioned in one of his videos when he was discussing the recent DLC that it was supposedly the last one. He didn't directly say that but kinda hinted at it. There's probably so much that he can and cannot say since he works there so he more than likely knew this was coming.

that is unfortunate the game was really starting to feel solid after the 3rd dlc. melee was feeling complete with the attachments and the new items were very nice. i'll admit it wasnt as pick up and play friendly as left 4 dead but it was its own thing.
Swing hasn’t done anything on yt or twitch for a while and I was wondering what was going on, then yesterday I saw this news and I feel like it’s connected somehow, definitely hoping he’ll come out and at least give an update on if anything is planned before the “return” they speak of but until then I’ll be finding something else to play
Back 4 Blood had so much potential. The hun okay was great and some of the level designs. The main flaw is most people are overwhelmed by the card choices. So they never really know what’s going on. Online is full of noobs lol. Games a 7/10 for me though. It’s addicting. It is what it is at the end of the day. Nothing lasts forever. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I’m super sad about this. I just got back into the game and have been having a blast. The game was really picking up. Sad we won’t be getting anything new anymore. All I can hope for is for PC players to start making cool mods to keep the game alive.

Reminds me of Remnant: From the Ashes. The devs create a marketable game and then marketable DLCs and then as soon as they've gone beyond their peak sales, they jump ship and rinse and repeat.
I don't have the internet for online play but I feel it was a great spin off of left 4 dead for those who use that as a example and have seen great things but now it dies to quickly
If they want to drop the game, ok, but i don't think is something reasonable for the fact there still bugs to fix. They mean to keep fixing bugs (at least just that), but i doubt it. I would like they re-do cards and add more cards, because honestly, mostly of those cards that disables a slot are trash, phosporus bullets is trash. Only 1 and 3 dlc were like 'OK', but with the bugs and low rate players, mmmmmm. I agree, this game has potential

We got the game day one...but there were some issues, confusion about the card system, enemy AI a pain...but the game has got better last 5-6 months and we've been playing every weekend. I've looked at builds and was looking forward to trying them all out and then...WHAM!!!!...one year old and find out sorry but no more, time to move on. I'm glad i picked up Dying Light 2 which days ago came out with a "Roadmap to 2023" with lots of updates, new modes, special events and a new story expansion...sad since B4B has so much to offer......darn....

To be honest…I didn’t even know B4B had any expansions. Never heard about them. Would have liked to know. I heard the game was shutting down so I got some misinformation and not having played since release, which during I played a lot (seemed to have been about a month), I fired up the game so fast and started playing. You know what? It seems different. I had more fun. Don’t know if it’s the community now, but at that time I met some assholes and being a solo player it made it harder to come back. It felt ass if I wasn’t wanted. This came from a few games towards the time when it was about a month old , again, it seemed. Anyway, it sucks that, like another video said, it ducks that it’s closing shop now that the game is fun (at least to me).
It definitely got a lot better months after release. But sadly the damage was done and the negative pr hole was too deep for b4b to become popular again.

Thing is it's not over, there's so much game here compared to L4D, nothing is stopping you from playing or making videos. Enjoy it, it's not going anywhere.
TBF games without live services are hard to pay the Devs daily. Small bit of purchasable cosmetics, and battlepass can contribute to dev team salary, as regular donations metaphorically. Sadly big chunks of DLC that contain everything aren't enough to pay bills. IMO it costs 5x more than its predecessor, and has a shittier PVP mode than previous.... that just further lowers the playerbase.

Here's how I feel about this game. First off I just bought it and it's a shame to find out it's been cancelled but, not surprised. The game, when it first came out, was dull and boring and offered nothing for players like myself who want a solo play like L4D did. This same problem plagued SWBF by EA/DICE. It took the second game to turn things around for the new version of SWBF. So, I just bought this on sale for about 35 bucks CND. Because the game was very bare bones and offered nothing but repetitive gameplay. It also was a gaming as a service type of game, which doesn't last long. Now, in it's current state, is what they should have done at launch. If this game was like it is now, it would have sold like hot cakes. But, greed by the publisher is why this game, like others, didn't succeed. But, now, just like SWBF2 EA they have started to turn it around like Dice did. Sadly, like DICE, they had more planned for their game but, EA cancelled them. Hence what is happening here. Just as it is becoming popular by people like me buying it now, they canceled it because of greed and start another one. I didn't like this at first until they put in content and gave us the ability to play solo offline. I game on consoles and am not paying more to play a game by paying for online gaming as well. I am glad it is better now and worth buying but, I hope they have learned their lesson. So sad to see they are dropping it but, it is the publishers fault not the devs as they just make the content and don't decide how it will be supported or sold. This game had so much potential. It isn’t left 4 dead 3, but besides it’s flaws of trying to be the next big zombie horde shooter. Back 4 Blood showed so much potential to being a stand alone title, the game could be improved such as fixing the pvp, show a proper ending, or adding mod support. Turtle rock pulled the plug before the game’s real potential is realized. I am with you guys as I too was there since its trouble beginnings. I saw the original nightmare mode, the hype of the first expansion, and how unfair pvp is (now that I think about it, PVP is still the same campy comp heavy mess it was before). Seeing this game getting the developer cold shoulder, just feels so sad to watch.
They pulled the plug because brainless teens started hating on the game before it was even released. Just like they are doing now with ATOMIC HEART.... It's like cancel culture but in video game form.
I will NOT be being ANY turtle rock products coming out if this is how they are gonna treat their games and players. Bought the full season pass just to watch them say nah, we aren’t doing it anymore. After the prison dlc, the stadium, I was hooked to see where the story went next. Then they just went BTW we quit… haven’t been this disappointed and angry in a long time

Make your active deck usable to test builds in firing range. So many things
As someone who is just getting into streaming this game, it does hurt to see they are stopping support. They wrote "this phase," specifically, this could just be a temporary halt. Maybe we are just over analyzing it as a whole. Whatever the case, the best thing we can do is be supportive of the game. For example, I myself just started the game. I'm sure multiple others have already made content for the game, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to share my experience with it. Maybe from an optimistic viewpoint, we can still help the game grow. Regardless if support is stopped. I'm still having new people try the game, as the core of the game is truly amazing. Hopefully, down the road, we will get support again, or maybe they are pumping resources into a sequel. Whatever the case, the best thing we can do is show love and a bit of hope for the future. I feel ya, try Darktide it has the same feeling and game design as Back 4 blood and is still being supported. Thats what I have been playing to scratch that L4D horde shooter itch.
@Zelerax I had a deep Vermintide binge recently, lol. If Darktide was on console, I'd probably be all over that too, but I liked Back 4 Blood's brutal difficulty paired with OP builds to combat it as a game design. Being Holly, and leeching all my HP back as I stop any ridden getting to my sniper as she sniped all the specials is just something I don't think I'll experience for a long time, or if I can convince my friends to come back to B4B for a weekend xD
@@admiralalyssa Darktide is available on xbox game pass. It has different classes and skill trees for massive amounts of customization and different weapons with perks to farm for god rolls on. Darktide isnt as difficult as B4B No Hope but still provides a great challenge and is probably the closest thing available besides something like world war z.

World War Z is the way better spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead than Back 4 Blood will ever be. Saber Interactive made World War Z with love and passion unlike from those so called "Creators of Left 4 Dead" at Turtle Rock. To me, this news to me sounds like they gave up on the game and finally saw it as a lost cause. Saber Interactive did a way better job than Turtle Rock. Back 4 Blood dies, World War Z thrives. Well done Saber Interactive, well done.
Nothing unreasonable here. The game fell off so hard because the f**ked up HUGELY with the release version and the next two or three patches that were supposedly going to address the issues (chiefly obscene and unfair difficulty). I stopped playing the game after finishing the last dlc and helping a couple of people on No Hope and I'm 100% satisfied with what I got from the game. They turned round a complete disaster and fulfilled their dlc commitment. They cannot afford to cater to a niche community and it's completely unfair to expect them to do so. The final version of the game is imo by a significant margin the best zombie game ever made. Loved L4D and L4D2 but vanilla Back 4 Blood destroys them both. I can't wait to play B4B2; lessons learned and no enormous day 1 patches required.
As much as a masterpiece Left 4 Dead is (especially with hurr Durr mods), I think eventually some of us get bored, even if L4D2 offers a lot of stuff that B4B doesn't have. With Back 4 Blood, even with its convoluted amounts of cards, I really like the attachment system. I found it great to spice things up. But if I want something more simple, Left 4 Dead is the place
I'm guessing there will be a sequel. Game has been out awhile now. Not every game needs to be fortnite with endless updates and constant support. I'm interested in their future games.
...It's fun but in all honesty...Dying Light 2 would be a better choice. it's a bit more serious in nature, more challenging but Techland supported Dying Light 1 for a long time and plan on DL2 for a long time. I've got WWZ-Afermath and while it's fun, hard to get in a good group and only a few friends play it...

I didn't like this at first until they put in content and gave us the ability to play solo offline. I game on consoles and am not paying more to play a game by paying for online gaming as well. I am glad it is better now and worth buying but, I hope they have learned their lesson. So sad to see they are dropping it but, it is the publishers fault not the devs as they just make the content and don't decide how it will be supported or sold. Such a shame though as it is really good now. Thanks for the vid.
This game had so much potential. It isn’t left 4 dead 3, but besides it’s flaws of trying to be the next big zombie horde shooter. Back 4 Blood showed so much potential to being a stand alone title, the game could be improved such as fixing the pvp, show a proper ending, or adding mod support. Turtle rock pulled the plug before the game’s real potential is realized. I am with you guys as I too was there since its trouble beginnings. I saw the original nightmare mode, the hype of the first expansion, and how unfair pvp is (now that I think about it, PVP is still the same campy comp heavy mess it was before). Seeing this game getting the developer cold shoulder, just feels so sad to watch.
They pulled the plug because brainless teens started hating on the game before it was even released. Just like they are doing now with ATOMIC HEART.... It's like cancel culture but in video game form.

I will NOT be being ANY turtle rock products coming out if this is how they are gonna treat their games and players. Bought the full season pass just to watch them say nah, we aren’t doing it anymore. After the prison dlc, the stadium, I was hooked to see where the story went next. Then they just went BTW we quit… haven’t been this disappointed and angry in a long time

They could’ve at least updated the firing range with the higher tier attachments? Make your active deck usable to test builds in firing range. So many things

As someone who is just getting into streaming this game, it does hurt to see they are stopping support.
They wrote "this phase," specifically, this could just be a temporary halt. Maybe we are just over analyzing it as a whole. Whatever the case, the best thing we can do is be supportive of the game.
For example, I myself just started the game. I'm sure multiple others have already made content for the game, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to share my experience with it.
Maybe from an optimistic viewpoint, we can still help the game grow. Regardless if support is stopped. I'm still having new people try the game, as the core of the game is truly amazing.
Hopefully, down the road, we will get support again, or maybe they are pumping resources into a sequel. Whatever the case, the best thing we can do is show love and a bit of hope for the future. Remember that just because support has ended, doesn't mean the game is dead.

I feel ya, try Darktide it has the same feeling and game design as Back 4 blood and is still being supported. Thats what I have been playing to scratch that L4D horde shooter itch.
@Zelerax I had a deep Vermintide binge recently, lol. If Darktide was on console, I'd probably be all over that too, but I liked Back 4 Blood's brutal difficulty paired with OP builds to combat it as a game design.
Being Holly, and leeching all my HP back as I stop any ridden getting to my sniper as she sniped all the specials is just something I don't think I'll experience for a long time, or if I can convince my friends to come back to B4B for a weekend xD
@@admiralalyssa Darktide is available on xbox game pass. It has different classes and skill trees for massive amounts of customization and different weapons with perks to farm for god rolls on. Darktide isnt as difficult as B4B No Hope but still provides a great challenge and is probably the closest thing available besides something like world war z.

World War Z is the way better spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead than Back 4 Blood will ever be. Saber Interactive made World War Z with love and passion unlike from those so called "Creators of Left 4 Dead" at Turtle Rock. To me, this news to me sounds like they gave up on the game and finally saw it as a lost cause. Saber Interactive did a way better job than Turtle Rock. Back 4 Blood dies, World War Z thrives. Well done Saber Interactive, well done.

Nothing unreasonable here. The game fell off so hard because the f**ked up HUGELY with the release version and the next two or three patches that were supposedly going to address the issues (chiefly obscene and unfair difficulty). I stopped playing the game after finishing the last dlc and helping a couple of people on No Hope and I'm 100% satisfied with what I got from the game. They turned round a complete disaster and fulfilled their dlc commitment. They cannot afford to cater to a niche community and it's completely unfair to expect them to do so. The final version of the game is imo by a significant margin the best zombie game ever made. Loved L4D and L4D2 but vanilla Back 4 Blood destroys them both.
I can't wait to play B4B2; lessons learned and no enormous day 1 patches required.
As much as a masterpiece Left 4 Dead is (especially with hurr Durr mods), I think eventually some of us get bored, even if L4D2 offers a lot of stuff that B4B doesn't have.
With Back 4 Blood, even with its convoluted amounts of cards, I really like the attachment system. I found it great to spice things up. But if I want something more simple, Left 4 Dead is the place
I'm guessing there will be a sequel. Game has been out awhile now. Not every game needs to be fortnite with endless updates and constant support. I'm interested in their future games.

...It's fun but in all honesty...Dying Light 2 would be a better choice. it's a bit more serious in nature, more challenging but Techland supported Dying Light 1 for a long time and plan on DL2 for a long time. I've got WWZ-Afermath and while it's fun, hard to get in a good group and only a few friends play it...
