Idk if you respond to comments Gigabeef, but is it worth shotting BCP out of this Sr-25 or is that perhaps TOO budget? asking from perspective of someone whose not even close to Lighthouse Revision lol
@TheSticknstone2 eh I think it's too budget most likely, especially against helmets and actual plates although you could use it in theory. Probably choose a different weapon until you can get either m80 or m62 from pk4!
@TheSticknstone2 if you don't have access to M80 yet just use the SKS, it's really good this patch and Ive killed a guy through an altyn with PP ammo. An sks build for like $120k has less recoil than a meta sr-25

yea... dying and losing his kit wasn't enough shame. Then the replay of his death was immortalized on youtube along with his build getting hyper-analyzed and criticizing every little thing that was wrong with his gun. These videos are actually brutal even though the soft talking brit with the calm music makes it seem so wholesome.

My thinking when I'm going to build a weapon is the following: If you're going to make a cheap build, choose a cheap weapon. If you have to choose an expensive weapon, build an expensive one
Sr25 isn't that expensive. I find so many of them. I usually just throw on parts I have laying around that are stat upgrade. I like the new cobra grips. I keep a bunch of those around and they go on pretty much everything I use

This^. A lot of people just use what they grab, or just use parts that attach directly to a weapon instead of having to build up to it.

Pretty much every gun woks great and really easily.
I now build my guns to look cool. It's been a lot of fun and I see a LOT more variety out there from others as well and that is super cool as well.

Not true at all. Meta means if you take two players of the same skill and let them 1v1 10 times the one with the meta build will win more than the other. Meta still exists and will always exist.
@@CruelSun69but there's literally never will be such direct ties. It's not just skill - its positioning, initiative, hell even server latency. If you need high ergo it means that you need to quick scope, if you need low recoil it means you have either magdump a lot to connect enough shots or you not that confident in your aim.
Build would've mattered a lot more in 0.13, but now it's way less critucal that "barebones" functionality (having any suppressor, decent optics, magazines and ammo).
Now I need to make some adjustments to my SR-25s.

I like using the dd wave brake and suppressor on the shorter barrel because the combo is relatively cheap and makes the ergo quite a bit better. Other than that all spot on
In all wariness it doesn't really matter what you put on these single shot dmr now a days. Full auto ones you have to lean into a lot more to mod. But honestly with the price of things now, a MDR is probably the only thing you want to bring out

It’s not always the rule, but in general the price on the flea will help remind you which parts have better stats. In terms of balanced weapons like the sr25 it also depends on if you prioritize recoil or ergo. I lean ergo, especially for semi auto.

I thought it was mine as well, all I remember is I had the TAC 30 and a similar suppressor, couldn't remember the grip.
Night force is still best ring mount just because of the height over bore for me and it takes up less field of view
The geiss isn’t bad for height over bore. I’ve compared it to the night force rails. Plus the geiss gives +1 ergo and fits on small or low rails. Imo

a question that always strikes me when watching these is do you not just roll with whats laying around in your stash even if its not particularly metA or budget like these parts or do you barter and sell everything, cause you use the overswing calculator?
Sometimes my guns are frankenstein as well, but thats because I don't like to spend any more than I have to. So, I just use whatever I got lying around. Already takes too long to get into raid as well. Too cheap and in a hurry for meta I guess. lol
I sometimes question if people are just using builds they like the look of, then after I see how ugly most builds are, I think it's more likely they're just confused, or just had these parts in their stash. That said, that Orion grip is so hideous, shame it's so good.
I wouldn't say it's so good at all, you get the GRAL-S grip at 1 lower level with 3 more ergo (for 10k more rubles) or the Stark and MOE grips 15 levels sooner for 1 and 2 less ergo respectfully for 5000 and 10000 rubles cheaper. It's a pointless middle ground that you don't have access to until level 38 and goes completely against what giga was saying in this video about either committing to an expensive build or going more budget
Since I love sniping and waiting for the moment to shoot, I love the Thunder Beast since it is SO much lighter than any of the alternatives, and it is like tp 3-ish in terms of recoil anyway, only bad side is it is a bit hefty in the ergo side, but that can be compensated in other places like the buttstock
Edit: also, flip off RSASS handguard, that shit is UGLY in other guns, hell no keep it away from my beloved SR-25

@maykay9516 said it better, but I think that these videos have a real problem with simply changing out every part to a min/max version. the end product of the video was a completely different gun than the one you picked up, you didn't consider the level of the user or their (unknown) aesthetic preferences

You're madly analyzing why he took this or that attachment instead of maybe thinking about the fact that he's taking things because they're in the stash and he doesn't have to buy them. This means you often build weapons that are not meta, but are still reasonably playable and cheap.

i hate to see someone spend a lot of money on the gun but then go cheap on the attachments. its like if you are going to be frugal run an AK or something cheap. SR25s and other guns that cost a lot to feed ammo to arent good to budget run since they rely so much on modifying to be useable and the ammo is expensive to waste it pinching roubles only to lose out on performance
How do you know if he spent a lot of rubles on the gun? Maybe he built it with things he had in his stash and didn't want to buy anything new. What's wrong with that? I think it's wrong to assume he built it from scratch and made a lot of mistakes along the way. Think about it. How many build their weapons with things they have lying around?
Why IS better sr25 than RFB? I think that RFB does the same job waaaay cheaper right?

F1 paracord version CAN be bought but it would be black and on skier four it only costs 2k more doubles than the Orion please show the people this gigabeef
Paracord has one more ergo than the F1 on skier though, and same ergo as orion

ITT: People not understanding that you're going to get out-ADSd and out-aimed if you avoid spending money on an SR-25.
I'm sorry folks, but you're gonna get some massive (though seemingly small) disadvantages if you build a gun like an SR-25 aesthetically.
I think you really need to take the level of the person you took the gun from into consideration when making these videos or else they make no sense. You say it's obviously not supposed to be a meta build and remove the better grip for being too expensive on the flea, but you use the ARE buffer tube, which will set you back about 110k+ on the flea unless you have mechanic max level and have done gunsmith 21. But at that point why would you ever use the Orion grip when you have the GRAL... Or if you are going for something cheaper then the Stark AR and MOE grips are 5 and 10k cheaper with only 1 and 2 less ergo, and unlocked at level 23?
The build that's supposed to be just small adjustments is stupidly expensive unless you're level 40, and at that point you should just be going all in with the BIS build :P
I tried to show all the options without going on too long, i.e you can use the ATP if you want - but if you have the ARE unlocked, you should use it. If you don't you shouldn't, that's the idea at least

ARE is garbage now. Use the M7a1pdw. Instead of the SE5, use the SI-cobra. Much better ergo with comparable recoil.
What people need to understand is good kits give you more room to make mistakes. If you can't afford to rock meta kits, do money runs until you can. In the long run it'll cost you far less that way.
While I enjoy Gigabeef content, this series completely misses the mark in my book. Ever since recoil was "fixed" I have been mostly enjoying aesthetically pleasing builds as opposed to running the absolute meta builds. Perhaps this guy's weapon didn't need fixing, perhaps he built it because he likes the way it looks, or he had these attachments readily available in his stash? While technically Gigabeef is right, I don't think we need to STILL keep promoting "meta" builds when everything works well these days.

I think that’s why he tries to match the “original goal” of the weapon. You could use most of the things he’s using with slight variations for aesthetics and still come out at a similar point that is significantly better than the original gun. Every gun he’s used in this series is REALLY sub-par and I think it teaches people a lot…which means I don’t have to fix their guns when I take them :). If not, it’s definitely taught me a lot! Had no clue about upper receivers (AX-15 on the M4 from the vid a few weeks ago)
Agreed half the fun of tarkov is you can take in anything you want and win. Tarkov is NOT a competitive game and never will be
Making meta weapons is so boring and is so stupid because 98% of the weapon parts are rendered useless if you feel the need to build the guns to meta spec. Why cant they take BF4s weapon attachment stats, rework them for tarkov, and BAM, now you can use any attachment you want that fits your PLAYSTYLE instead of tarkovs boring system of who has more ergo or recoil reduction. go look at BF4 attachment stats and you will realize how beneficial and awesome it would be to have such specific attachment details.
EXAMPLES = STUBBY GRIP: 20% less spread increase per shot 33% less ADS max spread. ANGLED GRIP: 20% less first shot recoil 33% slower spread decrease. POTATOE GRIP: Reduces spread during automatic fire BY 15%.
Man I would LOVE to have more differentiation between the parts in tarkov. It's so linear at the moment, a shame tbh!

@@justyguud It's been asked about but I don't think it's high on the list of priorities. Nikita mentioned in the Pestily interview though that they plan to separate vertical and horizontal recoil stats, which is at least something
@@Gigabeef yeah i guess thats better than what we have. Aftermarket weapon parts are mainly always giving positives, and for the most part they usually never have drawbacks.
The main roll of all the different styles of weapon parts is to make the weapon fit better to how your body is built, as well as making your task/roll easier to operate. The system in place right now is lazy to say the least but im not a programmer so who knows 😂
