Introducing our mini-documentary: Uganda’s New Forests.
Climate change is not just an environmental issue. It’s also a matter of justice: those least responsible for climate change often suffer its worst consequences.
In Uganda, we met some of these people. Climate justice isn’t just about helping them adapt to a changing climate - through local tree-planting projects, for instance. It also requires us to listen to their stories, and to spread their message. That is what our mini-documentary aims to do.
When we decided to visit our reforestation project in Uganda, we did not expect these stories to be what they turned out to be: stories of resilience, innovation, and solidarity.

I literally started to cry watching this. It's truly amazing. Educating people is just as important as planting the trees because it encourages others to do good and to spread the word, which will in turn help to plant more trees. What makes me happiest about this is that it helps the animals. Thank you to Ecosia, Jane Goodall, and to all those that work with them.

I studied abroad in Madagascar and this was very much an issue. There was a local inventor we met who designed the high efficiency stoves and also charcoal-free/wood-free solar cookers that he wanted to get to villages. I think while planting trees, it could also be interesting to provide these ovens to villages and townspeople.

Great project. The farmers can also use trees for crops and shade of the crops.
The most profitable farms are the ones that look like gardens with multiple crops to sell at different seasons.
