    I would've kept the ends equal length. It sets my OCD off seeing one end longer than the other. Great idea tho. I want to do this.

      That and the saw cuts on the top board she added should have been sanded down to smooth. Would love to see how she mounted it to the wall or just what she did. Just hate when they don't show the project from start to finish.

    Thanks for the confidence for me to create the same headboard that I need for my King size bed. We have doors we removed from our house, and I knew I could create something valuable! Your video is easy to follow and understand....thank you !!

    Such a great idea. I film DIYs in my shed, so I know the work that goes into this.
    Tip: I'd mark the center point and cut each side by half of the total I'd need to remove. Thanks for sharing. I'm removing a door in my new house and will use it for my son's headboard. You're awesome ❀

    Great effort but the Off Centre would bug me and could have been avoided with moving the cut further up the door and then cutting a slither off the bottom of the door giving a clean cut edge on both ends. Also the finishing could have been better. However the overall effect is good 👍

    To those saying it's off-centre, it makes no difference how you cut the door as the panels on most traditional doors like this one are different proportions. On most doors, the upper panels are longer than the lower ones, so the door handle is placed at optimum height. When the headboard is in place, the 2 panels on the right are shorter than the two panels on the left.

      No, I don't prefer it. When I want a quick project, I'll often grab Dixie Belle as the coats required are usually less. If I really want an amazing finish, I'll still go with General Finishes. Dixie Belle has been sponsoring some of my content, so they are great to work with from a business standpoint as well ;)

      @@RootsWingsHome I think it looks great and I get the concept of it being an old door. With a six panel door you will not get a perfect balance when laid on its side, it is only mirror image when stood up lengthwise.

    • @nathanaelbass2008
      @nathanaelbass2008 Pƙed 5 lety +1

      If someone wants to make it even on both sides, providing their door has panels of the same size, mark the center point between the panels and then measure half of the desired size from that center point to both ends. Double-check your measurements and trim both ends.

  • @OldDunollieman
