That scene of Cary Grant running towards the camera, while the plane is coming, is one of the greatest and most iconic shots in cinema history.
The running scenes are very memorable, if well written and filmed. In movies and in literature. Like the opening paragraphs of The Pelican Brief by John Grisham...
Or the criminal maniac writer in The Splinter... though there it was not running from, but after...
...Something is swooping on us and we are running... keep on running... to somewhere from something... in our thoughts... we want to rescue ourselves and find peace, or at least the semblance of it... it is the endless run... from the worries, people, troubles, from life...
The most active frame in film history. A real airplane in the background. Cary Grant running in the foreground. And the camera on a dolly or truck moving backwards. Only Hitch!
Never get tired of watching this masterpiece.
Definitely the best pure thriller of all time.
I believe Hitchcock essentially invented the James Bond picture with NBN (dapper man on-the-run genre), the way he did the Zombie film with The Birds, and the slasher film with Psycho.
