Every time I hear 'Gone with the Wind' I get so nostalgic instantly. From the first note, I get teleported back to the show they played in Frankfurt after Tom died where everybody was just singing and crying along. That concert made me feel almost any emotion one can imagine and, to this date, nothing even comes close in terms of atmosphere. Definitely a masterpiece.
Two other of my personal 10/10 songs would be Thornhill - Where We Go When We Die and Currents - The Place I Feel Safest.

10/10 songs for me personally. I won’t list them all because I have so many lol. But here’s a select few that fit the genre and my reasoning for them being perfect imo.
Bring Me The Horizon - Doomed
Perfect opening to their most accessible album in That’s The Spirit. They now have it in their encore at every show I’ve seen them perform. The strain in Oli’s voice on that “I think I like iiiiiiiiiiit!” Chef’s kiss!
    Architects - Doomsday
The amount of recent metalcore bands that have taken inspiration from this song is insane. The video where they look up at the sky and see a bright light, supposedly representing Tom, cuts like a knife. Sam’s vocals are on point and for this to be the first song released since Tom passed away and still be this good says a lot about the band
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Unretrofied
An amazing multilayered song from an incredible band. Half of it is like a radio rock song and then there’s the screams from Greg Puciato who still remains one of the top tier vocalists in heavy music. This song definitely makes me miss Dillinger though 🙃
    Deftones - Swerve City
That riff is to this day one of the catchiest I’ve ever heard and Chino’s vocals on top of it make this a perfect song. They were on a run of not necessarily bad albums, but also not their best work and for this to be the lead single of Koi No Yokan was a sign of what they could still do when at their very best
If anyone had read all of this then I appreciate it and welcome other people’s opinion. Give me one of your own picks and I’ll let you know what I think 😁

I was never a big BMTH guy but Doomed was certainly on my radar. However I recently saw BMTH at Sick New World and I can honestly say they made a believer out of me. Great performance and wish I’d seen Doomed live. I’ll have to catch them next time.

I think many will agree that My Curse by Killswitch Engage is one of the best metalcore songs ever written. Least, I think it is. Stranger Things is easy Top 5 Periphery for me, but I have grown to believe that Wax Wings is their best song. Great riffs, fantastic vocal delivery, and just damn good proggy goodness! Ascensionism by Sleep Token is probably my favorite song currently. From a very unknown band, there's a song from this band called Meshiaak that really destroys! Alliance of Thieves. I get chills listening to that song, especially with the guitarwork. Danny Camilleri as a vocalist is severely underrated too.

Thats a strong list, that Oh Sleeper track was new to me and wow that was heavy.
    Heres some of mine
Breaking Point - Parkway Drive (One of the rawest intros to a metalcore song of all time, by far the most underrated song on Horizons. The energy is unreal.)
Blood & Water - Memphis May Fire
(I dont even like this band, but for some reason they pumped out the PERFECT radio modern metalcore song. Its anything you could ever want in an acessible hit, super simple but fun main riff, verses with insane energy, easly the best hook the band has ever written, double time breakdown but not quite cause they use the last 2 bars to ease you back into the song. It's just so well crafted)
The World Breathes With Me - Caligula's Horse (i haven’t paid much attention to the lyrics yet because this is still fresh but one of my favorite album openers without question)
Find Forever, Beautiful Obivion - Issues
(Double pack here, I know Tyler is controversial to put it lightly and that has put a stain on this band's legacy, but this song is just so fucking fun man. It took 3 other messy releases to get here but this album is the perfect 50:50 split between metal and r&b, every time i hear it im left wondering if people even actually were hearing the music at the time of its release, because it deserved so much more praise. The ending breakdown on Beautiful Oblivion with the catchy playful vocal melodies is the most danceable shit ever. The saxophone on the final chorus of Find Forevwr mixed in with the layered vocals makes everything feel so huge but so fun. I love this album still, i cant help myself.)
It's 5 AM when im typing this so im juat gonna list the next few without explaining
    Serenity Painted Death - Opeth
    Constance - Spiritbox
When You Can't Sleep At Night - Of Mice & Men (by far the best song they made wasn't even metal)
it really hurts :(: - fromjoy
    Crystal Mountain, Misanthrope - Death
    Jenny - Nothing More
Sleepwalking, Nihlist Blues, Kingslayer - Bring Me The Horizon
    Danger - The Home Team

Like how often are you actually listening to these 7 minute prog songs? I would argue that songs like Shade Astray and The Orphan Breed are much more enjoyable than the technical prog stuff.

I’ve genuinely listened to all of these songs thousands of times lol. Time length truly doesn’t matter when a song is that good.

The story behind Yael is just fkn horrendous.
Not saying israel as a country is innocent of crimes but for those saying free palestine they are just straight up sheep that dont even know the horrors of what they have committed
