As an Italian I found this movie spectacular. It showed what an Italian summer is like so well it was eerie in the best way possible. I will always love how subtle all their hints towards each other are. And yes, their age gap feels a bit disturbing because Armie Hammer looks so much older, but otherwise I'd say that the age gap is actually quite common around here...?? I'm not saying it's fine, I just noticed by being on the internet that americans tend to focus on that a lot, while here it's not that outlandish? You also have to consider that in high school we got 14 years old going to the same school as 19 years old, so the separation of minors and adults isn't as stark, I suppose (and there might be 14 year olds going out with 19 year olds, I've seen it pretty often actually when I was in high school myself...) . It's just a thought since you asked if it was okay in Italy. I'm pretty sure technically (and legally) it's not, but from a certain age (16?? or maybe 14, i'm not sure), unless the minor presses charges for abuse, it's considered consensual? Don't take my word on it, but I know there were couples like that around me when I was still a minor. So I wouldn't say it's okay here per se, but it's definitely not uncommon. Of course it depends on the age of the minor, and the age gap with the adult, but a 17 year old with a 24 year old sounds pretty common to me. Again I'm not saying it's okay, I'm just trying to answer your question. I definitely feel like culturally it's handled in different ways. Unless the internet gave me a skewed impression of Americans (which could also be the case) and it's more frowned upon online than in real life (which would probably be the same here), but yeah...
yes, in America they take the age gap seriously, but in Italy age of consent is 14, in USA a 17 with a 24 would go to jail xD this is why many americans are so upset with this topic.
Ouch... are we ready for this? 😅 Don't get me wrong, I looooved Call me by your name when I first saw it but I feel like it almost demands to be watched in a dark, tiny movie theatre with no other witnesses 🙈 a) it's a wierd ass movie b) it's really subtle. subtle to the point where if you don't pay attention, you might miss the whole thing.
Yeah, this movie is for people who don’t mind a *very* slow “build”? Or at least when you’re in the mood to be patient with a movie that may feel like there’s not much going on on-screen. When I first watched this movie, I had no idea what I was in for LOL.
I don't know why everytime, when I watch reaction videos, americans always want to be quick, in Italy we take our time. We still have the "if the movie take enough time that means they created something well made" thing. Well not everyone in Italy of course, but the majority does. We take time for everything, I think in America you don't want to "waste" time (?) I don't know.. I'm saying America because you are American and all the people I follow who don't like long movies are americans, but it can be other countries too of course.
I'm Italian too and this movie for me was boring as hell 😅 There were quite a few things that I didn't like about this movie; the obvious ones that were mentioned in this video and also the classic pacing and "trying to be poetic" or philosophical that you can easily find in so many other Italian movies. Italian directors do love to try to be these mysterious poetic artists when, at least for me, most of the times they fail, they just look dumb (like someone called Sorrentino lol) Still, there are things that I like about this movie, mostly technical stuff with how they show the landscapes or how they shot a scene, but the rest for me is a no. And also, it's not like I have something against Italian movies, there are some that I truly love like Baaria or Il nuovo cinema paradiso, it's just that this movie is really not doing it for me 🤣
same man, like it's sad and emotional and has good camera work and acting. the movie's concept is really not that interesting which put me off even if it's the best film ever made.
I love this movie because to me it’s a perfect example of how (in my personal experience with it) a piece of art can be groundbreaking and breathtaking and beautiful and leave me changed while also coming back to it later and realizing there are problematic parts to it and that it’s a heavily flawed piece of media. And it can still be both. I can watch this movie and adore the beautiful cinematography and the delightful score and also cringe at Oliver and be critical of the sketchy age gap
aren’t both of the leads American? i think it would have helped if it was an actual foreign film without a problematic lead actor who played his role VERY predatory 😬 as Americans, we know MANY Oliver’s out here and no, they are NOT romantic
@@ashmitadas3595 I think that’s totally fair! I hate the way America treats Sex, fetishizing women and setting men up to be horrible people due to lack of education, safe exploration, and just a general air of shame! For THAT you are totally correct! I still stand by my opinion that Armie Hammer’s portrayal of Oliver on screen (as well as his off screen behavior) is both somehow dull AND predatory. i really hate how he plays the, “we haven’t done anything wrong” card and “pushes” Elio away as if he hadn’t consciously been using his 7 years age difference to influence the younger man’s feelings. Even without the American view of legality, the way he plays this situation in the film is extremely toxic and aloof and very reminiscent of how older people use their “maturity” to emotionally coerce someone (legally or illegally). Even if Elio wanted it, Oliver withholds his true intentions and plays their fling with sincerity though he has no intentions of following through. These of course, are ALL CRITIQUES OF THE FILM (which is all we were reacting to). No matter what the source material is, if the film doesn’t do a good job of translating it, I will hold it against the film lol
Nope, I'm European and I found the age gap just as problematic. Oliver's behaviour is predatory. Just because it's more common and accepted in Europe doesn't mean it's right.
Let's face it, Heartstopper has spoiled all gay movies and TV shows for us. Everything seems so crude by comparison. That said, I do like Timothy's performance and the cinematography
let's face it, Heartstopper is a cute but trite Disney channel ass show where 15/16 year old characters are written like sheltered pre-schoolers and the dialogue was super preachy and unnatural. Love, Victor was way better and more a realistic depiction of a gay coming-of-age story where teenagers actually act their age and don't live behind the moon. CMBYN is a cinematic masterpiece that isn't even comparable to a badly written Netflix children's show.
i get that this movie might feel long if you’re used to watching those type of movies where everything happens really quickly. But for me this is exactly what makes a good story. Their bond is building pice by pice and that’s what makes it feel more realistic. Also i just wanna point out the talk that Ellio and his dad had after Oliver left. I cried trough the whole scene when i first watched the movie. I think that was absolutely beautiful scene and deserves all the love that people has given to it. Call me by your name has been one of my favourite movies ever since i first saw it. I just immediately fell in love with it. Some people dislikes it because they think it’s too cringe and because of their age difference. And yes i get that it might feel weird because Ellio is really young in the movie and Oliver looks like he’s fucking 30 years old😂
as a lesbian, 100% agree with your opinions on this movie, it's truly a lgbtq movie for straight people haha. a similar uncomfortable movie that reminds me of cmbyn is blue is the warmest colour. It's such an uncomfortable movie to watch, bc the director forced the underaged actress to do the sex scene and it's very male gazey and not really accurate to sapphic relationships tbh. we're very lucky now to have enough representation in media that we don't have to settle for problematic lgbtq representation that uncomfortably sexualizes minors (the reason why I don't like cmbyn, the age difference is very toxic and shouldn't be romanticized the way it is here). wish we had more movies like portrait of a lady on fire and the handmaiden though, those movies are top tier lgbtq rep
Movies shouldn’t always be moralistic, and can be provocative and uncomfortable and still be great. You shouldn’t be spoonfed just to your heart’s desires.
I literally just finished reading the book. And let me tell you… it’s beautiful and it broke my heart in millions of pieces. I just ordered the sequel, and I have effing tears in my face!!!!!!!
I’ve never seen this movie, but when he pulled down the peach from the tree and you flashed immediately to American Pie, I jumped up and yelled NOOOO 😂😂 And your jokes today Mr Benji were 🔥😁
I love this movie (luckily I watched it before knowing about Armie xD). But it's definitely a movie I think is only enjoyable when everything is quiet, it's dark and you're alone. Not something to watch with others. Otherwise I feel like you can't really get into it. The whole movie is so subtle. Like the confession scene. It's obvious what they are talking about when you listen closely and watch them carefully but not when you are distracted by anything else just for a moment. So I also understand why some might find this boring cause it's so "quiet". I also don't mind the "awkward" scenes because most movies make everything seem so perfect which it never is in real life. Especially with teenagers who are confused and don't know what to do 😅 Either way...I really enjoyed this and had a lot of laughs 🤣
Unpopular opinion here - fearing to sound a little harsh - I get offended whenever I hear people complaining about movies needing action, explosions, multiverses, and tiktok dances to be appreciated. So yeah, i watched this movie by myself and it was a completely different experience than yours... and watching this video felt like i was watching grey gardens or dogville with two frat boys (no hating just pointing it out). And a quick reminder that the age of consent in Europe ranges from 14 to 16, so it's perfectly normal (even now) to see a 17-year-old with a 20-something, it's a culture shock for some I know, but it's the reality here. Is it acceptable by everyone? No, but it's not a crime. And - not the greatest example - but: the president of France married his teacher so... it's not uncommon
I mean, I remember being (and still being a little) being like Elio when you’re raised in a very grown up environment and you get along with your senior peers and eventually crushing on some of them at a dangerously young age. Of course it’s wrong to pursue the relationship but for them, it just happened.
I highly recommend a show called Our Flag Means Death! It's a gay romcom (with a racially diverse cast) about pirates, has multiple gay pirates actually and a non-binary one. Taika Waititi plays Blackbeard in it. It's like Bridgerton in a "historical but not really historically accurate" kinda way. Even if not for a reaction, I recommend watching on your own time 💕
The books explains what’s going on on Elios mind, why he cried, what he’s feeling, why the awkwardness, everything! And the movie leaves out many moments they share in the book. Warning: i do think Elio has a foot fetish😅 but still. To get the movie 100% you gotta read the book
Honestly my favorite thing about it is Rizzo and Benji just having fun together and making jokes, though I shouldn't have watched it while eating because I kept laughing so hard
The age of consent in Italy is 14, Elio is 17, Oliver is supposedly like 24. The novel has a lot of internal dialogue which you can't show in a movie so it has to expressed with look, dialogue and music. I agree it a different watch knowing Armie Hammer's fetishes but if we do that with every movie I could never watch Rear WIndow knowing Jimmy Stewart was an out right racist, as an example though I do enjoy that movie.
if they cast someone who was actually 24 (or even close) it would've made things look so much less sketchy cause Armie is around 31 when filming and looks 35. And Timothee literally looks like a 17 year old, so it's weirder cause of that.
Alrighty after a ton of your videos, here are some things I would love love love a reaction about from you: -Bridget Jones I&II -Notting Hill -Lemony Snicket (the movie, not the series) -Clueless (duh?!) -Robin Hood-Men in thighs version -Pirates of the carribean Feel free to add stuff
I just finished the book and i’m ugly crying!!! I’ve watched the movie several times and there are a lot of things that didn’t made sense. But the book makes them all make sense
There was a snowstorm outside when me and my brother went to watch the movie not too long after its release. By the time we came back out we were shocked it was still winter outside since we had just spent the last two hours in the dead of summer. CMBYN really is mostly vibes, and I think we saw it at exactly the right time. Now though? I don't even think I could watch it again.
i know a lot of people like this movie (i do like the scenery and the vibe) but theres so many queer and appropiate good movies, for example "Your name engraved herein", "Esteros", "The handmaiden". I recommend the first one if you like the theme of YA kinda forbiden love.
When i watched this movie, i felt exactly the same as Rizzo hahahhaha. Litteraly i was like "Did they said something and i missed it?" "how is that i din´t get it but apparently they know that they like each other?" in what moment!!! This was so much funnier 😂😂❤❤
I'm glad I watched this movie first before watching your reaction... I felt like Rizzo... I'M AN HOUR INTO THIS MOVIE AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED! 😂😂 Also. The scene with Elio's dad is THE BEST. What a wonderful parent. ❤️❤️❤️
My favorite movie ever. So touching very sophisticated. This is a highly Intelligent movie. Appreciate Chalamet had to speak 3 languages & play 2 instruments incredible acting. He truly deserved his nomination & should have won! He was 20 when he made the movie
Yeah this movie/book is so problematic but Elio was the first bi representation I actually ever had in a book (which is actually just sad) so it’ll always have a special place in my heart lol but I can’t watch movie now because of Armie Hammer So yes technically 17 is legal in Italy I think the age of consent in Italy is 14 which is actually horrible but the relationship isn’t technically illegal but definitely still problematic and I don’t think Armie looking 30 instead of 24 helps at all because Timothee does look 17
Your friend really picked up on Oliver's manipulative behavior, which almost everyone seems to miss. Touching Elio right away (shoulder massage), playful banter, getting dressed with his door open, inviting him to places with him alone, teasing him.. THEN when Elio responds by expressing his desire, he acts like he's being pursued and it's all Elio's idea. It really bothers me that people ignore how Armie's character takes advantage of the younger, more vulnerable, and immature boy's infatuation with him.
Gotta say yall did have me laughing, but man this movie is amazing. I thought it was well acted with a great script and it's a beautiful movie. I'm a straight man so I can't really relate to anything here, but I'll say you can feel the emotional weight of the movie. Funny reaction guys
I had heard about the movie, Call Me by Your Name on coming out on reddit, and CZcams. All I knew was that it was a gay coming of age movie, and it was supposed to be very good. Then I red the reviews, and people raved about how good it was. I live in Missouri, so of course none of the big movie theaters within a hundred miles would show it. I really wanted to see it because at well past fifty five years I had never heard of or seen a gay coming of age movie. I'm gay and thought this movie would be a big deal. Finally a small theater that shows mainly art films and foreign films not too far way showed it for one weekend only. So I got to go see it. I have never been so disappointed in any film I have ever seen. It is just a piss poor film about child molestation, trying to normalize that. I did not like anything about the film at all. So, that is an honest review from a gay man. I'm glad that neither of you really seemed to like the movie. It was slow, boring, poorly written, and acted, with a bad plot. I went into watching your video hoping you would be honest and trash this very lousy movie.
I’m glad you appreciate it. We really aren’t trying to be asshole contrarians. If people agree with us, AWESOME! If not, we don’t mind them not watching us. We just wanna have fun pointing out the flaws in EVERYTHING (including the films we do love!)

The name Beelzebub is associated with the Canaanite god Baal. In theological sources, predominantly Christian, Beelzebub is another name for Satan.
Rizzo really said: “I don’t know about Benji but I’m making the edgy gay jokes around here, b***h!”
I’ve never liked Armie Hammer and these days, for obvious reasons, he disturbs me. But I’m still willing to watch your commentary. 😄
I'm glad they were making fun of him the whole time!!
Ouch... are we ready for this? 😅 Don't get me wrong, I looooved Call me by your name when I first saw it but I feel like it almost demands to be watched in a dark, tiny movie theatre with no other witnesses 🙈
a) it's a wierd ass movie
b) it's really subtle. subtle to the point where if you don't pay attention, you might miss the whole thing.
Yeah, this movie is for people who don’t mind a *very* slow “build”? Or at least when you’re in the mood to be patient with a movie that may feel like there’s not much going on on-screen.
When I first watched this movie, I had no idea what I was in for LOL.
How is it weird?
it's a character-driven European arthouse film which appears weird bc we're so used to formulaic commercial Hollywood movies
My conclusions of the movie was this is weird and a bit creepy storywise but the cinematography was pretty aesthetic.
@@siffe3336 was dirty dancing creepy too? romeo and julia? cause those are younger love interests than 17.
I watched that movie so many times. I love the vibe, languages, music, culture and the Italian country side and great acting and story.
All great things the movie does VERY well!
I looove that movie. It tells it's story through emotions in a way I have never seen before
It really does! ✌🏻🙂✌🏻
Rizzo yelling at Elio to HURRY UP with the peach 🍑 & GET IT OVER WITH was pure gold!!!!
10:30 "Have you ever done this?”
"No…😳"
🤣🤣🤣
😅😅
God I hope you guys get to Portrait of a lady on fire or God's own country, or handsome devil, or fire island for Benji's big gay month
Fire Island! I just watched that one!
Any of these !! yes!
Handsome Devilllll let’s go
bro im quite literally crying laughing at rizzo's cannibal jokes
Thank you Rizzo for seeing how aggressive he is toward Elio in such a not cute way.
The transition to the Boys are Back KILLED ME HAHAHA
I don't know why everytime, when I watch reaction videos, americans always want to be quick, in Italy we take our time. We still have the "if the movie take enough time that means they created something well made" thing.
Well not everyone in Italy of course, but the majority does. We take time for everything, I think in America you don't want to "waste" time (?) I don't know..
I'm saying America because you are American and all the people I follow who don't like long movies are americans, but it can be other countries too of course.
Maybe if I’m watching it on my own and not on camera. we’re entertainers and these reactions are to entertain ourselves
I agree. The pacing was fine. I thought the entire film was beautiful and I’ve watched it multiple times. Love the music too!
✌🏻🙂✌🏻
I'm Italian too and this movie for me was boring as hell 😅
There were quite a few things that I didn't like about this movie; the obvious ones that were mentioned in this video and also the classic pacing and "trying to be poetic" or philosophical that you can easily find in so many other Italian movies.
Italian directors do love to try to be these mysterious poetic artists when, at least for me, most of the times they fail, they just look dumb (like someone called Sorrentino lol)
Still, there are things that I like about this movie, mostly technical stuff with how they show the landscapes or how they shot a scene, but the rest for me is a no. And also, it's not like I have something against Italian movies, there are some that I truly love like Baaria or Il nuovo cinema paradiso, it's just that this movie is really not doing it for me 🤣
Omg I didn’t realise you had reacted to this and omg it’s such a beautiful shot. The cinematography in it is a video essay of its own.
If you don't watch But I'm a Cheerleader I'll be very disappointed. It's ICONIC!!
We’re definitely both interested in seeing it but hadn’t planned on it this time around 😅
I felt personally attacked when Rizzo talked about the fly being a metaphor like plz don’t do that I want more metaphors to decipher haha
The fly is us. The audience is a fly on the wall.
I'm going to be honest I don't get the appeal of this movie on multiple levels but I'll watch you guys react to anything!
same man, like it's sad and emotional and has good camera work and acting. the movie's concept is really not that interesting which put me off even if it's the best film ever made.
*12:03*
"How can I feel so lost in something so slow"
That had me rolling on my bed laughing 😆🤣🤣🤣💔
I love this movie because to me it’s a perfect example of how (in my personal experience with it) a piece of art can be groundbreaking and breathtaking and beautiful and leave me changed while also coming back to it later and realizing there are problematic parts to it and that it’s a heavily flawed piece of media. And it can still be both. I can watch this movie and adore the beautiful cinematography and the delightful score and also cringe at Oliver and be critical of the sketchy age gap
It's interesting how the american perception of this movie is usually so different from european; completely different cultures indeed
aren’t both of the leads American? i think it would have helped if it was an actual foreign film without a problematic lead actor who played his role VERY predatory 😬 as Americans, we know MANY Oliver’s out here and no, they are NOT romantic
Just because our laws let 16 year olds and 29 year olds f*ck, doesn't make it less messed up. This is a poor excuse for me at least.
Let's face it, Heartstopper has spoiled all gay movies and TV shows for us. Everything seems so crude by comparison. That said, I do like Timothy's performance and the cinematography
timothee** lol
CMBYN just isn't that good. There are much better gay movies like 'Moonlight, 'Maurice, 'Firebird' . Heck, even 'Love' Simon' is better
That's why I don't want to watch Heartstopper.
That's the thing we should see cmbyn not as a gay movie but as a simple love story happened in a summer and the heartbreak came along with it
let's face it, Heartstopper is a cute but trite Disney channel ass show where 15/16 year old characters are written like sheltered pre-schoolers and the dialogue was super preachy and unnatural. Love, Victor was way better and more a realistic depiction of a gay coming-of-age story where teenagers actually act their age and don't live behind the moon. CMBYN is a cinematic masterpiece that isn't even comparable to a badly written Netflix children's show.
I’m LIVING for the expressions on the thumbnail lol #HappyGayWeekend
Rizzo was UNHINGED this episode. We live 🤣
In Europe we give two air kisses to greet each other we don't actually smooch the cheeks if we just met😭🤣
Rizzos reaction to the train whistle had me cackling ❤
i get that this movie might feel long if you’re used to watching those type of movies where everything happens really quickly.
And yes i get that it might feel weird because Ellio is really young in the movie and Oliver looks like he’s fucking 30 years old😂
Benji was right when he said that Oliver should’ve lived with Elio’s family. It’d be fun! Also, Rizzo is a true ally ♥️
as a lesbian, 100% agree with your opinions on this movie, it's truly a lgbtq movie for straight people haha. a similar uncomfortable movie that reminds me of cmbyn is blue is the warmest colour.
Especially with teenagers who are confused and don't know what to do 😅
Either way...I really enjoyed this and had a lot of laughs 🤣
18:57 Quote of the Day: “Careful, he bites.”
You two are cut from the same cloth. It's crazy how much you pretty much read each other's mind. I wish I had a friend like these two.
Also it was the early '80s. Such relationships were more common, even in the US.
I already know ima cry I watch this at some point every summer
Hahahaha, THANK you for this. This was amazing, hilarious, and ACCURATE.
there's actually a sequel book that takes place years later following the dad, elio and oliver
I mean, I remember being (and still being a little) being like Elio when you’re raised in a very grown up environment and you get along with your senior peers and eventually crushing on some of them at a dangerously young age. Of course it’s wrong to pursue the relationship but for them, it just happened.
The slowness of this film helped your jokes and commentary so much so I think that’s a plus 😂
It too forEVER to edit lol
I highly recommend a show called Our Flag Means Death! It's a gay romcom (with a racially diverse cast) about pirates, has multiple gay pirates actually and a non-binary one. Taika Waititi plays Blackbeard in it. It's like Bridgerton in a "historical but not really historically accurate" kinda way. Even if not for a reaction, I recommend watching on your own time 💕
I’m pretty sure we’ll do it for Patreon at some point and I’m pretty excited about it ☺️
@@PinkPopcast OMG YES 😍
Y'all are fun! And I love this movie and I'm glad you weren't too harsh on it despite the warning at the beginning lol
The books explains what’s going on on Elios mind, why he cried, what he’s feeling, why the awkwardness, everything! And the movie leaves out many moments they share in the book. Warning: i do think Elio has a foot fetish😅 but still. To get the movie 100% you gotta read the book
It’s the Americans criticising fictional American characters for me AND I LOVE IT! 😂
Rizzo’s reactions to this movie are hilarious! 😆
And makes the cringey more bearable.
Honestly my favorite thing about it is Rizzo and Benji just having fun together and making jokes, though I shouldn't have watched it while eating because I kept laughing so hard
My favorite hi guys about the entire move is the Villa itself. It’s sooooooo beautiful!
at 6:33 I never noticed he knocks doesn't wait for a response and then just BARGES into Elio's room
I remember that there was a video essay on ‘The Take’ that said it’s actually a huge cold open. Also, it’s not a movie that makes you sleep.
I mean just because it’s legal that doesn’t mean that it’s morally okay
if they cast someone who was actually 24 (or even close) it would've made things look so much less sketchy cause Armie is around 31 when filming and looks 35. And Timothee literally looks like a 17 year old, so it's weirder cause of that.
@@adelewoop7750 Moral isn't the same everywhere so...
14 is a child. Italy is a messed up country for that low age of consent.
@Carlos Hernandez I agree!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Rizzo was 100% my spirit animal for this movie. What the hell Benji lol. The rest of our month better be awesome lmao.
I dont know who does the edits, but by far THE BEST react editing i've ever seen
RIZZO DID NOT JUST SAY ‘FUN-SIZE’ I WILL LITERALLY COLLAPSE 😂

Alrighty after a ton of your videos, here are some things I would love love love a reaction about from you:
-Bridget Jones I&II
-Notting Hill
-Lemony Snicket (the movie, not the series)
-Clueless (duh?!)
-Robin Hood-Men in thighs version
-Pirates of the carribean

I just finished the book and i’m ugly crying!!! I’ve watched the movie several times and there are a lot of things that didn’t made sense. But the book makes them all make sense
5:58 that's literally Mei's drawing in Turning Red 😂😂😂😂
There was a snowstorm outside when me and my brother went to watch the movie not too long after its release. By the time we came back out we were shocked it was still winter outside since we had just spent the last two hours in the dead of summer. CMBYN really is mostly vibes, and I think we saw it at exactly the right time. Now though? I don't even think I could watch it again.
Are you guys planning to watch “But I’m a Cheerleader”? I think that would be really entertaining. I loved that movie when I saw it.
Popcast movie selection: Call me by your name
Rizzo: CANNIBALISM 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
i know a lot of people like this movie (i do like the scenery and the vibe) but theres so many queer and appropiate good movies, for example "Your name engraved herein", "Esteros", "The handmaiden". I recommend the first one if you like the theme of YA kinda forbiden love.
Jesus. You sound so puritan. Like it's impossible to have a deep queer movie.
Also.
That’s impressive! He is a talented actor!
Every reaction you guys have is gold. This was hysterical,
Yeah this movie/book is so problematic but Elio was the first bi representation I actually ever had in a book (which is actually just sad) so it’ll always have a special place in my heart lol but I can’t watch movie now because of Armie Hammer
So yes technically 17 is legal in Italy I think the age of consent in Italy is 14 which is actually horrible but the relationship isn’t technically illegal but definitely still problematic and I don’t think Armie looking 30 instead of 24 helps at all because Timothee does look 17
As a 24-year-old, it would still be bad if someone my age played Oliver.
@@squeezie_b8895 no yeah I definitely agree
he didn't 'look' 30, he was 30 lol. So it makes it even worse tbh lol.
@@angietoonz6605Yeas and Tim was like 20-21 when they filmed it I believe.. which even though it’s also legal feels kinda icky
I haven't watched call me by your name yet and this is my first time ever watching it i can't wait to see this. 🙂😄
you're still sitting in the wrong spots, why do you hate meeeeeeee 🤣🤣🤣
Your friend really picked up on Oliver's manipulative behavior, which almost everyone seems to miss. Touching Elio right away (shoulder massage), playful banter, getting dressed with his door open, inviting him to places with him alone, teasing him.. THEN when Elio responds by expressing his desire, he acts like he's being pursued and it's all Elio's idea. It really bothers me that people ignore how Armie's character takes advantage of the younger, more vulnerable, and immature boy's infatuation with him.
I got the ‘Timothée Salmonet’ wordplay before you two lol
I used to love this movie but ever since the Armie Hammer abuse allegations, I couldn't watch it anymore.
I still watched the reaction tho 😆
Guess you couldn’t… STOMACH the allegations 😜
OMG wait! I came back here because I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE STUFF THAT HAPPENED. And now I got it and OMG YOUR JOKES ARE ON POINT LOL
These jokes were on point and more entertaining than the movie for sure! Thank you!
Literally passed out to this movie in theaters not even a quarter of the way in…it truly is the perfect movie to fall asleep to 🤣

Lmfaooooo ayooooo😂😂😂
Thankyou for making me laugh so much!!
I love this movie so much, can't wait for your reaction! 💚
Gotta say yall did have me laughing, but man this movie is amazing. I thought it was well acted with a great script and it's a beautiful movie. I'm a straight man so I can't really relate to anything here, but I'll say you can feel the emotional weight of the movie. Funny reaction guys
I think the Father-Son scene towards the end is where the emotions hit both of us!!
@@PinkPopcast that's where it really got me
I had heard about the movie, Call Me by Your Name on coming out on reddit, and CZcams.
Lmao not Rizzo going “BYUAYYYAO!”
The cannibal jokes made it worth watching this reaction 🤣🤣🤣
How can I feel so lost in something so slow hahaha
Yeah, I never understood the acclaim for this movie either. 🤷🏾♂️

In theological sources, predominantly Christian, Beelzebub is another name for Satan. He is known in demonology as one of the seven princes of Hell.
