Yes vary sad, who'd have thought making food with a lot of fat and cream making you morbidly obese would be bad for your health? Oh and the french traditionally thicken their sauces, especially chicken stock or white sauces, with a beurre marnier not bloody egg and potatoes.
I’ve read dozens of comments mourning his passing you are the first to say the quiet part out loud and while it is sad I’ve been wondering for years now when he was going to kick the bucket. I can’t have been the only one who thought he lives longer than he should have. RIP
I really wish I got to eat some of his man's food I'm sorry I'm just now starting to understand who he is and I'm really sorry to the family in the passing seems like a very humble and passionate man and man can he cook thank you sir.
Thank you Jack. 3:30 AM I woke up grabbed my iPad and there you were. I kept trying to see you in person, in New London. I’m disabled. We ran out of time. You were always good for my mind, heart and cooking. Grateful these videos exist. They soften the blow a little. You’re missed. See you soon.

I have fond memories of watching him during covid when we were shut down I would find youtube channels to watch and he was one of them. I would binge watch him during that time watching dozens of videos my condolences.
This episode may not be my one of my favorite recipes, but it’s probably my favorite video of yours. The way you spoke about and brought you mother into the conversation is wonderful.
Just lost my mother this june 2021. Wished I had the time and desire to learn her recipes when I was young and restless. Miss you mom. . Best cook ever. Craving all of your recipes .love ya mom. RIP.
Hi Jack: That's a treasured possession you have...your mothers recipes on index cards. I have my mothers cast iron pans, and Presto pressure cookers. They're over 70 years old. Use them all the time. I really enjoyed this video. Will be making your Moms Chicken a la King tonight. Thanks. Ed, from NY.

Do a show every once in a while where you just pick a random card out of the recipe box and make it that would be cool. Sorry about your mom, my dad has Alzheimer’s and we’re going through that right now. Sad sad deal for everyone.
You know what everyone remembers? Their favorite color. Maybe find out what his favorite color was and bring more of those colored items around. Maybe simple things like that to remember will bring back more memories.
I'm sorry, I know people who have dealt with that... Somebody mentioned color, but have you tried playing their favorite music? I saw my grandpa lucid one last time because of some Sinatra... and it wasn't even his favorite. Pouring a drink for your dad, and my Pap Pap.
Sorry to hear about your dad Paul. Did he play any instruments? Or enjoy listening to music? My grandmother in law who didn't remember anything recent and usually thought she was 40 never had the opportunity to play the piano for years until at a family reunion there was a piano in the room and she played a bunch of songs from memory, it was the happiest I had ever seen her. I wished we had gotten her a keyboard for her room to be able to play I think she would have loved it. My grandpa also enjoyed listening to music pretty well all day, he wasn't as bad off but couldn't remember anything recent. Anyways if you look into music and it's effects on people with Alzheimer's there is some cool videos and info out there, maybe it could help your father even just a bit. God Bless
Been watching Jack’s videos for many years with a mixture of affection and horror. Those flames!! It’s like Vulcan’s forge in that kitchen. I’m always waiting for his sleeves to catch fire. Must be a generational thing, my mother made chicken a la king and turkey a la king as a way of stretching leftovers. I always loved it. Thanks Jack.
Chicken ala King might be a relic from the 70s but it a delicious dish that should always be enjoyed just like meatloaf, Salisbury steak or Tuna casserole.
Alzheimer’s disease is such a sad disease to have to live with and for the family to deal with. Great to see you keeping moms memory and legacy alive through cooking... God Bless
My mom made this also. This brings back so many memories of mom. We lived across the street from the grade school. I always went home for lunch. Many times I'd walk in the house and find a pan of Chicken Ala King on the stove top. That brought such a smile to my face! I ate it over toast. It was the best! I miss mom.
That was really touching, and I could tell through the intro that you love her very much. Sub'ed and looking forward to more great recipes. From a humble cook to a chef, thanks!

I binged all day on watching “Cooking With the Blues.”
I used to love Wilson. My introduction to video cooks. " Ah ger own tee"!!! I can't possibly replicate that Cajun manner of his. Jack, I always look forward to your next video. You're on my daily watch list. Greetings from 13 degree St. Louis! Ughhh...
We love you brother. Thank you for leaving us with this.
Oh shit ,have just learned that Jack has passed.
Heartbreaking news, will still leave my last message, put of love and respect, to a great great man.
Will be sorely missed.
Bet he is cooking up a treat up there in heaven God bless your soul Jack, and all your family.
Loads of love

Wonderful. You can see how much those recipes mean to you. I have similar books from my grandmother and mother that I need to go through at some point.
I NEED to make this... My mom never made this, but we had a great cook in one of my Jr High Schools that made a fantastic version.
Best part of Jack’s videos are, “let’s grab a couple lates”! Finishing the job!! 👑
I miss this gentle giant. What a great man and awesome cook. RIP Daddy Jack.
Get those recipes scanned for the computer. They can stay with your family forever. Ink will fade brother. Get those backed up on a flash drive.
