autechre's cutest album
hey did you know that they are doing a mix right now and said they prepared 2 albums and they're releasing a tour soon and they revamping their system?????
copied from comment section
I saw this comment as soon as he started talking about Four Tet’s new album lol
What makes an ae album cute?
@@fleaship6134 I think they meant radio-friendly cute, not adorable cute.
But still, probably Autechre's most adorable album.
sustained screech
I’ve always liked Fol3, but I didn’t get it for years until I heard it while I was high. It’s not just a bunch of sound effects. Listen closer. There’s a tone way in the back. Sort of a bass tone slowly changing notes until it goes into its percussive breakdown. I think it’s one of Autechre’s most interesting tracks, up there with a whole lot more stunning work by them.
This is a great outeacahurry album, memorable as an album more than separate tracks for me, though
I quite like this one.
When I first listened to it I was reading about the solar system at the same time and there are some tracks that really fit with the mind blowing mystery of the big gas giants. At least to my mind.
Throughout their discography they have explored different sounds. The precise calculatied nature of their their previous Untilted album, the alien world of Draft 7.30, the futuristic confield and the industrial sounds from work such as Tri Repetae, out of all of them, Quarististice is still the album that is the weirdest of them all that can even perplex the fanbase of the duo. It was a strange turn and a strange direction even for them. But it is also their most fun record with a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
I just love your aura and the way you explain things. The tracks totally feel cohesive its true.
Great channel. On it now!
Best of their work. As a long-time ae fan. IO, Perlence are some of the most ruthless songs created by man, paralel suns is such a display piece of sound engineering, chenc9-x (the versions edition) is badass, I think the album really flows well even though every song is so out there. Regrettably the last couple songs on here aren't that essential to me but overall, great album.
Genuinely one of my favorites, even coming from someone far more conditioned to their more difficult works. This one gives me such an unjustified emotional reaction that I can't quite place. It's very raw, amateurish, and the most lighthearted thing they have released. The use of EQ and Pan modulation gives the the mix fascinating depth, which is why I enjoy even the least structured tracks like Fol3 and Steels, since the sound design is so compelling. For me. I'd give it a 9.4/10 based on enjoyment alone, even if it is not the most technically complex or meticulously crafted album, but that is why it's so charming.
This album instantly puts you in a separate pocket universe. Autechre charting their own musical world.
Quaristice - QU AR IS TI CE - Q R S T C - QRSTC
We figured out "Exai" we need someone on this shit
Well, Exai is pronounced Exai. I don’t pronounce Quaristice as QRSTC
@@a_silly_birb Exai = XI = 11 in roman numerals. This is in reference to the fact that Exai is the eleventh album in their discography.
This is no conspiracy theory either, the duo confirmed it.
Bonus fact: the album art is a super-pixelated typography exercise.
Andy Noah I know. Sorry, I could have elaborated better, I should have said “Exai is pronounced XI.”
@@a_silly_birb no need to apologize, I just thought you didn't know why was Exai named like that.
It's me the one that didn't understand your comment.
"QRST" is the 5th set of 4 letters in the alphabet. 5+4 = 9 and it's their 9th album. that's a pretty out-there fan theory.
Love this album so much, and it's great to see you give it the praise not enough fans seem to award it.
I just listened to it today, and I really liked it. Good recommendation!
I much prefer Quaristice (Versions) & Quadrange to the original. They are more darker and I tend to prefer that. The track lengths are longer too so that's good.
those are good, especially all the dynamic versions of Perlence but Quaristice is still a very good album.
Wait... did you wear the blue hybrid shirt because it looks like the blue album? If not, that’s an amazing coincidence and kudos regardless lol
I've heard from some that this is their least favorite because it has alot of "throwaway tracks". Will probably have to give this a listen now

Just curious have you ever listened to emancipator?
It would be cool to see you cover something from Death Grips
I don't consider them electronic so not gonna be covering them, sorry. everyone else who covers music on YT covers them anyways lol
@@TheWonkyAngle Interview 2016 and Fashion Week by Death Grips are full electronic albums, those are the albums I was referring to. But I understand death grips has been covered a lot
hey did you know that they are doing a mix right now and said they prepared 2 albums and they're releasing a tour soon and they revamping their system?????
this seems like a bad time to be announcing a tour lmao
@@TheWonkyAngle nah they are just releasing an tour from 2016
AE_LIVE style
; )
oh wait nevermind it's actually both
Jack Paint nice
I can't take Fol3 seriously because I am pretty sure there is the Intro of the keyboard cat song in it if you listen to it closely. Those reversed claps at the start.
I bet they laughed their asses off. Chronologically it would make sense, because the keyboard cat song came out in 2007 and the album 2008 hahahaha
Also will you be covering some of their ep's in the future?
will be covering the EPs in an odds and ends video
four tet and autechre are like the most polar opposites in the "idmsphere"
wonder what it would be like if they switched musical styles
it's pronounced oo-tish-er-eee
my favorite from them
i think i just really enjoy albums that are all over the place
My second favourite from them
ITS SPELLED AUTOCURRY
This is a weird one for Erhcetua. It seems to be simultaneously really out there and really accessible. I don't know how they pulled that off. It is my most listened album by them simply because I spent so long trying to crack its code. I would listen to it mixed in with tracks from the surrounding releases: Versions, Digital Exclusive, and Quaristice.Quadrange.ep.ae. Below is my favorite version of Quaristice.
Quaristice Descent:
01. The PlclCpC (Versions)
02. Phylopn (Versions)
03. chenc9-x (Versions)
04. paralel Suns (Quaristice)
05. Perlence losid 2 (Quadrange)
06. Simmm (Quaristice)
07. Steels (Quaristice)
08. Fol3 (Quaristice)
09. fol4 (Versions)
10. WNSN (Quaristice)
11. notwotwo (Quadrange)
12. Outh9X (Quaristice)
Please put qplay in the background for the Oversteps review.
So finally we get to AE's scrapbook. A collection of errant doodles and dribbles nowhere as coherent or impressive as The Draft for Untilted. Yes it's CUTE, but a minor work. From here - Step over the next album and go straight for Number Eleven. GOLD!!!

do you even french bro, it’s “oeutaçhré”
it's "otèkre" in french, I live there so I know it
Quaristice probably isn't their best album but it's definitely one of their most enjoyable?
Btw - it's pronounced "Roc-H-Dae-L"
Quaristice is my least favourite Autechre album and the only one that has given me a feeling of disappointment. It certainly didn't help this one come after Untilted. I haven't listened to this album much. Who knows, maybe I connect with it better someday?
