This is what happens when an entire generation's sense of humor relies on irony and cynicism - we begin to crave sincerity and wholesomeness
@Sharky No. It just is.
@Sharky It's not bad but it's sad
Interesting comment.
This has a lot of irony. It's say this is post-irony, because its hard to tell what is sincere and what is ironic, and can be appreciated on both levels
Thanks a lot, Letterman
Dear everyone, if you like Joe Pera's show please can we leave more user reviews online, like on metacritic? The media aren't promoting it much because it's not getting enough user ratings and reviews. If it doesn't get enough advertisement Joe might not be able to keep it going, and become a bricklayer again! Please upvote the comment to get the word out, thank you all.
@John Wick It's just not your cup of tea! Humor is not even the main focus of his content and it's not supposed to even be the type people will laugh out loud with.
He is just gently rambling about things, which for most of us it's sweet and relaxing. When am having a bad day i feel better after watching his videos!
John Wick just because you dont enjoy it doesnt mean we dont. I know i like it and thats good enough for me.
@John Wick
Sounds to me like you just don't understand his content or that it just doesn't appeal to you. That's not an issue.
It's not supposed to be entirely funny.
Gametroll exactly, his content is meant to give you a soft chuckle and maybe help you reflect on your own life and notice the small things around you. Appreciate daily life. That’s the point
Of. Course.
I heard Norm Macdonald once say "it's one thing to make someone laugh but another to make them smile"... whatever Joe is comedically he makes me smile
This is a sad comment now :(
@@GARGANTUANMASKEDFISH this comment is officially a gem.
his show Joe Pera Talks With You makes me smile and barely LOL. but this videro right here made me LOL a bunch of times
Hah?
He makes me infinitely uncomfortable and I think norm macdonald would hate him
I can never forgive Adult Swim for not renewing Joe Pera... unforgivable!
Sometimes something has to be short to be truly great, there is enough Pera for a lifetime of reruns
He has so many episodes to doze off in his own channel. Did you check that out?

Someone will always uphold the Pera, superb content regardless of tv contract

Put it on replay and get high enough that you don't mind watching this vid over and over. It's meditative, I promise
Every Saturday, when I was young, I would lay across the carpet and open old electronics I got from Salvation Army to see how they worked. I would use the light from the sun beaming through the window. I would crawl with the light until it faded and then mom would call for supper.
I haven’t thought of that until I watched this video.
that's a really beautiful memory, and i'm glad this video allowed you to remember it.
life is beautiful
Very cool. My dad always taught me "If something doesn't work, just take it apart. In the best case, you'll fix it. In the worst case it'll still be broken but you'll have learned how it works."
That’s a wonderful memory friend
This is incredibly touching. What a beautiful scene you describe here.
I wouldn't call him a comedian, it's something much more special
Hey tells jokes that dont make you laugh but instead they just make you smile a little cause you got, he just tries to make you have a good time and take a second to just appreciate little small things.
I know what to call him a saint
it makes me wanna cry
Spooky Cone exactly -you caught his little on purpose drop to make those in the know/paying attention laugh. Ultimately tho he doesn it for himself. First and foremost
He's very, very humble and kind hearted, thats for sure...
And for twenty minutes, everything was fine and nothing hurt. Joe Pera is this day's Fred Rogers
Truth. Just truth. God bless you, Joe.
Whenever I tell people about the show I tell them he’s Mr. Rogers for High adults. He makes everything ok, and is what we need during these times
I have chronic pain. This video is one of the best things I've discovered in a long time. Who knew?

@@kathleenmele777 Same. His gentleness is soothing. I do know that cortisol, a stress hormone, increases the perception of pain. Since this video reduces my stress, it eases my pain a little. Thank you, Joe Pera.
The fact that I audibly cheered “Yes!” When I heard that tree tv and waterfall tv were considering a merger shows exactly how wonderful joe is.
it was the best news I ever heard, it's truly the highlight of the video

And that's a good thing because stoners know good television.

At the end of the video footage, I suddenly cried. After all these years, I have been chasing happiness endlessly without realizing that something as yet very simple can be so beautiful. Thank you Joe Pera!

They made a video called tree tv
This video made me realize that I've been looking at the world through an incredibly negative lens for a long time. With everything that's been going on lately, I've been looping faster and faster around an endless track of pessimism thinking about all of worlds and my own big problems. This and Joe Peras other videos have been an exit from that track. It's like he took my brain and said "hey buddy get out of that dark cloud, come down lower and try to remember when you were a kid. Try think like that and notice how wonderful these everyday things are. I'm going to feed apples to a happy horse and make you remember how you used to feel looking out a car window."

Joe: “Someday I’ll make a TV network with trees only”

Joe Pera is exactly what David Foster Wallace was talking about when he said this in 1993:
The next real literary "rebels" in this country might well emerge as some weird bunch of anti-rebels, born oglers who dare somehow to back away from ironic watching, who have the childish gall actually to endorse and instantiate single-entendre principles. Who treat of plain old untrendy human troubles and emotions in U.S. life with reverence and conviction. Who eschew self-consciousness and hip fatigue. These anti-rebels would be outdated, of course, before they even started. Dead on the page. Too sincere. Clearly repressed. Backward, quaint, naive, anachronistic. Maybe that'll be the point. Maybe that's why they'll be the next real rebels. Real rebels, as far as I can see, risk disapproval. The old postmodern insurgents risked the gasp and squeal: shock, disgust, outrage, censorship, accusations of socialism, anarchism, nihilism. Today's risks are different. The new rebels might be artists willing to risk the yawn, the rolled eyes, the cool smile, the nudged ribs, the parody of gifted ironists, the "Oh how banal". To risk accusations of sentimentality, melodrama. Of overcredulity. Of softness. Of willingness to be suckered by a world of lurkers and starers who fear gaze and ridicule above imprisonment without law. Who knows.

Another night of not falling asleep. I tried rain videos. I tried people talking and then I came upon Joe. Instead of falling asleep I found him quite interesting. Unlike the days of my younger life and dating handsome men, and finding them painfully unready for a real relationship I found here a man I was comfortable with . He introduced me to wanting to explore Kafka and a summer boat ride in downtown Milwaukee.
Now I really can't fall asleep because I'm wondering if I can find my Joe. So I'll get up and clean something . I hope to get sleepy before dawn.
I truly believe Joe Pera is the key to finding happiness in life
He's just showing us the way
Based on the pancake breakfast OK rating system, here's what I thought :
👌🆗👌🆗👌🆗👌🆗👌🆗👌🆗👌🆗👌🆗👌🆗👌🆗
That's ten OKs and that's a perfect score.
LOL!!!! I love it
I am ok with this comment ○K
Nice.
That's actually 20 OKs and it's off the charts!
@@FooBarMightBeGreen It's the hand gesture and the simultaneous remark "OK", as seen in Joe's pancake breakfast videos. But 20 OKs is even better!
I'm a nurse, and I can say that every bit was worth it. Joe Pera is a pure being of calm
zypherax thank you for all you do
I have been listening to this video to fall asleep every day for the past 6 months and I am barley coming to the comments, I love each and every one of you and I hope you (person reading this) are doing great in life. You are not alone, we all have problems and challenge of our own, wether it be with family, financial status, or with our loved ones, so don't feel left out when hard times come your way. If you are sad, just remember that whatever is happening will one day pass, I promise. Keep your head up, and be the best YOU you can be.
Listening to Joe Pera’s talks before sleep has become one of my new favorite things. It’s not because it’s boring so I fall asleep. There is something very calming and wholesome about his videos; I genuinely enjoy them. 😌
