- TalkTV’s Vanessa Feltz says she was “deeply offended” when Russell Brand asked to sleep with her and her daughters - one of whom was 15 years at the time.
Of the incident that happened on 2006 TV show 1 Leicester Square, she says: “I was deeply offended then as I remain deeply offended now.”
Comedian Russell Brand is being investigated by the BBC, Channel 4 and a production company after he was accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse while working for the organisations. He denies the allegations.
Vanessa is joined by talent manager Jonathan Shalit to discuss Russell’s ‘inappropriate’ behaviour on TV shows and his continued employment by the broadcasters.
Jonathan says: “There seems to be a pattern of horrific clips… it’s extraordinary this man continues to be employed.”

While what he said to Feltz was crass and unfunny, it wasn’t criminal. He may have offended her (and others) but no harm was done here. All I’m interested in here is simple: has Brand committed any crimes? On that, the jury is still out. Just for the record: one of her daughters was born in 1986 and the other, 1989. That would make them 19/20 and 16/17 at time of recording.
Also humour was a lot different back then, you could get away with more. I remember an episode of Bad Girls that aired back in 2007, and one of the prisoners commented that a gay relationship was disgusting. You'd never get away with stuff like that nowadays.
