The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. This was a great match from start to finish. Serena really came out, firing and focused and really silenced Pliskova after all the things she had been saying a few rounds before in interviews. As I said before It’s a great shape that Serena did not come out as focused in the final
Imagine being in your mid-late 30s and moving better than someone 40 pounds lighter and 10 years younger… they started this commentary being shady 🕶️
40 pounds lighter is quite the exaggeration, but I do get your point. Serena was listed at 155 lbs before her pregnancy, and she said she actual weighed less after pregnancy than before becoming pregnant, it was just distributed differently due to the multiple C-sections and second embolism. To suggest that Pliskova only weighs 110 pounds is pretty ridiculous; I think even Camila Giorgi weighs more than that.

And we go from Serena down a break to Serena up 5-4? Just a miserably put together “extended highlight.” There are more first service faults here than there are winners or exciting rallies. Embarrassing.
“Extended highlight” shows dozens of first service faults, but refuses to show how we went from 1-0 on serve to down 1-3? I’ll never, ever understand the selection process from these official channels. Over and over again, unofficial highlights outshine them by a mile…
