My daughter pulled your family cookbook out and said, "Let's do the meal planning with this." 😊 Smart girl! I've been teaching them about UPF, and they're listening in the next room right now! 👍

Before that, TV stations went off the air between 1am-5am
People used to go to bed before johnny Carson went off
      On Friday nights

This is something we all know on some level but I think so many start to feel helpless and don’t know where to start to make a change. I know I did but I’m taking my health back!! Just shared on Facebook!

So true. In 2018-2019 I was the healthiest I had ever been in my life. After 2020 we gradually were buying less and less healthy things. My health has been iffy these past couple years. I felt really hopeless for a while because the price of good foods and because I don’t really know how to cook..There is only one decent grocery store where I live so I’m bound by those prices for produce etc. but Ive ordered dry things like beans, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, online and they’re so much cheaper than at my store, for good quality stuff. If we don’t pay for the quality of food we will pay later in medical bills. I’m determined to make nutritious food my priority and learn how to cook because it’s just mind boggling how all these unnecessary ingredients are in everything. I grew up on mostly ultra processed food..it was rare to get fresh fruits and veg. That should NOT be the norm!!! EVERYONE needs to know this stuff and know how important it is. Ignore marketing bs, research brands, buy local if possible, don’t buy stuff you don’t need, that money is put to a lot better use for good quality food. Let’s take back our health and not fall into their trap.

Thank you for spreading this message. You’re so right that we have absolutely normalized poor health. And also the medications for everything. Just look at the way some people react when you say you’d rather change your diet than to take a pill. Some people act like it’s silly! They think the pills are the one true cure for these diseases! It’s crazy. In 2018-2019 I was eating the healthiest of my life and walking every single day and I felt great. Over the past few years my health has been on the back burner..it has been terrifying me, I get really bad health anxiety. Now I’m determined to learn how to cook and cook good quality real food.
Also about honey, once I started eating local honey every day my allergies have greatly improved. Allergy pills never really did anything for me. And there’s people I know that take allergy pills regularly, but still they admit that the pills don’t seem to really work!!

Cereal is like six or seven bucks a box in Canada unless you shop the sales. Thank you for this video! Love your books! Cereal for dinner is such an evil marketing strategy!

Omega 3's are so important as they are anti-inflammatory and we consume much more of omega's 6 which are inflammatory for our bodies. According to this fact the majority of people have hidden cellular inflammation. It is however important to get a good quality of Omega 3 supplements. The best way to measure cellular inflammation in the body and prevent future disease is to get tested for it. This will help to find out whether omega 3 supplement is actually being absorbed effectively and is helping to decrease inflammation within cells.

Great vid. Loved me some CapN crunch as a teen! I struggle getting folks to be clear on what is ultra processed. I have been asked what about Chick-Fil-A, how bad can that be. Actually I'm not sure but I always look at food ingredients before I eat anymore - that seems to be too much for many of my friends - they take the word of the marketing plus what it looks like - its "just a chicken sandwich". If it's a labeled package, maybe I say "more than 5 ingredients you can't pronounce" or it "never goes bad". I got people who think fresh looking fast food is fine. They think "junk food" is candy and cookies, etc. Mostly I think the problem is the convenience in this age of the grind of day to day work. Sending them the video anyway.

How can we put a stop to this? The FDA has never had our best interest at heart. Makes me livid.. We've been at crisis mode for YEARS.😑

There needs to be way way way more of us voting with our dollars. It’s the norm to choose convenience because so many people are overworked and too tired or don’t have time to prepare real food for ourselves, it only perpetuates it. I really feel for those of us in that situation, I only work part time right now and I can’t see how I would be able to take care of everything I need to do if I worked full time. I genuinely can’t see it for myself. They make us think we need to buy more stuff we don’t need, instead of buying good quality food. Then in the long run that’s more of our money towards medical bills. It’s disgusting when you think about how they market this junk to kids. It’s like indoctrination to make them think this “food” is normal and to even make them think it’s the tasty choice!! Once i stop eating this junk for a while, i truly do lose the taste for it. Everything is too sweet or too salty and it all tastes fake. This should not be normal.

Educational videos about health and wellness have been out there for decades. It's more of a case of affordability for a lot of people. If you compare a cup of instant noodles vs a home cooked meal (which takes effort and time , let alone dishes to wash after and double or triple the cost, which many can't afford if they are getting allowance or have a minumum wage job), many would prefer the quick option without a second thought. It's high in salt but tasty. It's bad for your heart health but it's ready in minutes. If you think about it, many may be forced into this situation because of poverty or/and convenience. It's so sad indeed!!!

Home cooked meals, could be made, and out in freezer
      Just take out, and microwave
