In 1980, a group of ice hockey players in Minnesota were looking for a way to practice during the summer.[1] Scott and Brennan Olson formed the company Rollerblade, Inc., to sell skates with four polyurethane wheels arranged in a straight line on the bottom of a padded boot.[1] In 1988, Rollerblade introduced the first aggressive inline skate, the Rollerblade Lightning TRS. Aggressive inline skating developed as an organized sport in the early 1990s.[2] In 1994 the National Inline Skate Series, better known as NISS was launched as the first aggressive skating competition series. Promoters Rick Stark and Mark Billik sold Taco Bell on sponsoring the series for $150,000 and a six stop series was born. NISS, went strong for 5 years holding contests in Los Angeles, New York, Rome and Brazil. NISS was the first series to put aggressive inline on television with an ESPN deal for the 1994 series and later moving the competition series to PRIME TICKET-Fox Sports. The Aggressive Skaters Association (ASA) was formed by a number of aggressive inline skaters in 1995 as a forum to develop rules governing competitions and equipment.[2] The sport was included in the first ESPN X-Games in 1995 and included vertical ramp and street event competitions.[3] It reached its height in popularity in the late 90s, with mainstream movies like Disney's Brink! and other films. The brand "Senate", run by Arlo Eisenberg and several other prominent skaters, enjoyed mainstream popularity during the 1990s.
Founded by company owners/skating legends Brian Shima, Jon Julio, and Kato Mateu and supported by all major skate companies, the World Rolling Series (WRS) links together the best skaters, event organizers, retailers and skate parks and aims to "create a tighter knit community, increase overall awareness and set a higher standard for aggressive rollerblading." The WRS circuit started in 2009 with 10 established professional contests in France, Netherlands, England, Spain, Argentina, Australia and the United States. In 2012, WRS included 100+ amateurs and professional events in over 20 countries.

I was a roces hater for the longest time purely because I hated how m12s looked. Then one day I woke up and decided I loved them. Got a pair of the m12 junos, and out of the 30+ skates I've skated in the last 15 years they are probably the best skates I've skated.
What are you talking about ? They look amazing (for me they just hurt my feet. I still am a roces hater for fucking up industry standards with their manipulation and schemes.
@@anton972yehuda same, it's a cool mold I was dying the the Grant Hazeltons to fit but they're just way too narrow for me
The Roces m12 is my favorite aggressive boot. I’ve always thought I had wide feet so I tried a bunch of other boots before finally giving them a try. Holy cow they fit like a glove and there’s so much control. They’re snug, but in a good way. With a 268 MP I can wear a size 9 shell with either intuition or Myfit liners.
The flex of the skate definitely makes up for the slim soulplates a little. Making me wanna skate my m12s again.
You look better for topsides on these skates more thn others. Glad you worked for it. Well earned
This is one of the best videos I've seen. It's not just grind shots.
oh no, super blade chad beard is gone, nvm it's all good, whatever feels right ! btw you seem to have great weather there
My second pair of blades, rb lightning, m12s and the rb dirks
I always recommend sizing up in M12s. The stock liners have quite a bit of padding and take some months of skating to break in. A solid skate and a classic for sure!
Great video and even better skating in a classic pair of skates!
I bought the 1st gen Majestic 12. They were the first skate with an H block. Before that, skate frames normally had an open design. Unfortunately, that was when royales came out so while the frames lasted longer, the shells wore through pretty fast.
You said criss cross applesauce. That’s how I know you’re military. When I was at RTC Great Lakes, all my drill instructors told us to sit like that. Hooyah! Glad you liked M12’s. I love them. They look great. But for my poor old man feet, sways are my go to.
I'm skating 2 models of M12 in the last 2.5 years and they are great especially for the price and that the stock frame can hold 64 mm wheel
respect the man that can fish a leage on m12s
Those are some nice looking skates, Mr. Martz! Great review of the skate, I think you gave it a fair shot. & Mr. Caliente was out there living up to his name 🔥! Looked like a fun time out there.
Pantz and style on point sir 🔥 I liked your style in m12,mesmer,cult,shadow and faction at Most! 🎉🎉🎉
I used them over 20 years ago, even competing together with the rollerblade chocolate I won at a super contest and I don't skate anymore ( iny 40s now) always been my favourite skates I liked the chocolate ones for the pipe but overall these are the best I've ever had 🤟🏻
the m12 stock liners break in a LOT and they keep your foot locked into the narrow shell, that's why they feel so nimble
Hey man! I gave you the wax at Chisholm Trail skatepark today. It’s super cool to see you out there! Keep it up man, I think you’re awesome!
wow man, what happened to you lol
im here now from watching older videos and u seem way happier .. way different vibe in this video, subbing now :)
Sam’s fit was particularly steezy.
Roces was my first and now that I restarted again it will be my last, great video!!!
Some 22 years back I skated the hell outta the M12 model. Shins bleeding almost every day from the ammount of hours skating daily... student life :D they are unforgiving in the start but once you break them in you don't want to change a thing. I tried the K2 skates because we all loved the regular shoe boot style look but it was a horrible experience. Years later I went for the USD AEON 60 and TBH they are no match to the M12. I like them because they are white which was one of my main points and somewhat lower than the M12 (foot wise and overal height wise) but I can tell right away that once they reach their "end" I will not buy them again because the fitment in the toe area is tight your fingers get numb very easy so you have to pick a larger size which in return leaves your lower shin wobbling freely in the boot even when your strap is tightly shut AF. And I don't see myself experimenting with other liners and spending more and more money just to find a good fit when the M12 is perfect out of the box with minor adjustments over time as they get used more and more. Roces M12 are simply one of the best if not the best skate models. That is also probably why they never changed the design much over all these years.
I've just bought (in Italy) the Roces Iconic 42EU size. A glove. I love them.
I've also bought the M12 same size but I feel them so tight. I've tried the 43EU but I'm afraid they're too big. It's the first time I use an aggressive inline skate. Should I wear the small one or the upper size one? :)
great video, rinsed that ao top soul with style.
Nice vid.
Even though I hate roces and m13 hurts my feet I agree with all the good stuff said about them and will add they look so good looking down on feet
I bought some after my trs then went to k2 fatty , and dirks , the fifth elements where my favorite skate although before usd
That’s a nice skatepark
Finally you've skate them
What size shoe do you normally wear? I went up a full size for my M12s.
Nothing feels that solid like an M12. And the soulplate is not that small. The negative side is truly not the widest but the positive side is the same wide as the USD-Sway soulplates for example....
i wanna see you skate old school lightning TRS like i was forced to for 4 years and just rinse stuff and make me feel bad, that would be neat mr. sanders o7
wich one you guys choose between roces m12 and rollerblade Blank Sk ?
you compare to the size 10s, what size shoe do you wear?
Need to see you try some razors SLs next would love to no what you think
The graals are my favorite rocees
best skate of all trizz
would these be good for beginners?
It took me 3 months to break in the stock liner, but now they are super good. At first they were uber tight.
the stock insoles are garbage too, replace those and they fit way better as well.
@@DEJ915 Good point. I got FP insoles shortly after getting my skates.
Think the boot down angle is steep? Try these with Solas or Oysi :)
Я как их попробовал, так и катаюсь в них. Пару раз катался на sl и st pro, но все равно возвращаюсь к м12
Threw a pair of Salomon soles on a pair back in the day… loved the fuck out of um!
Since this is your first time skating M12, have you ever skated the skinned Valos?
When i tried the bacemint roces they were light and slid fast, but I felt like I was falling out of them from the heel lift and how the boot actually closes around your foot. Roces has some cool colors but theyre unskateable personally
Pshh. After skating Mesmers, M12s feel like scuba socks. If you don't like lack of heel cupping and an open designed lacing gap, steer clear of Mesmer Thrones.
just ordered one pair of it, got it in this color too.
i hope they fit 🤔
How do they fit?
Ordered size 45, and they felt like 43 or something.
Too tight.
I now got a Standart m12 in 47 and the roces RL2 liner in XXL.
This fits perfect.
Normally I have size 45-46 EU.
I love my m12s my only issues is that they run very small
You shredded that dudes new buckles 😢
I hadn’t used them when shown at the beginning of the video.
Daddy chill
if you put better frames on them, you'd like then better I imagine. the stock roces frames are fine, but they are heavyyyyy
but I suppose you're used to CO, so maybe that's not a big deal
They’re not bad
Its just the soul is tiny and the plastic boot is hard as hell
I have the base entry level black Roces M12s with old Kaltik freestyle frames. I can lock in on ANYTHING. I spent next to nothing on those skates. Used the outer wheels on the Kaltik frames. Didn't even replace the liners. On paper they should be TERRIBLE skates. I've got a nice pair of 909s I spent a ton of money on but I'd rather skate my dogshit beat down M12s.
those stock liners are hot trash.....bad memories lolol
