Tanks come in all shapes and sizes, but some designs are a little more insane than others. In this video we look at the Char 2C, K Wagen, Panzer VIII Maus and the Landkreuzer P1000 Ratte, and take you on a tour of the largest tanks ever designed in history.

Zachary Baird the problem with this oversized tank is that you just need a land mine to stop it.. better using more and smaller tanks. Then I don’t get why should you use a mobile super cannon if your enemies are men and tanks..

Small error in the beginning. The original Abrams used a 105mm gun but they have since been retrofitted with a 120mm gun.
He said M1 Abrams, not M1A2 Abrams, which had the 120mm gun.
Right, but video clearly showed a later M1A1 or A2, the 120mm gun is shown in the video.
He also showed a picture of the Scharnhorst class to represent which battleship the main armament would have been found, but that type of casing was used only on the Bismark class.
Also, an Abrams with full kit weigh 70 tons.

We haven't used the 105mm on the Abrams since the 80's; currently we use the 120mm gun which is the size mostly used on the Abrams

The M1 designers wanted to use the 120mm made by Rheinmetall AG, but instead used the 105, until the US Army proved conclusively to congress that the 120mm main gun was in all ways superior. So the first production of the M1 was armed with the M68/L7 105mm.

About the French Char tank, by the time it did see combat in WW2 it was totally obsolete, it was designed for WW1 trench war, not for blitzkrieg in WW2.
Also he would have been remplaced by the FCM F1 who was bigger and had a bigger gun, if France didn't lost in 1940. The FCM F1 was almost finished at this time and ready to replace the 2C. Germans wasn't the only to build moving Fortress :)

Yes the m1 Abrams did have a 105mm main gun. But we don't use those anymore. We have m1a1 and m1a2 used by the usmc and the army. They have 120mm main gun. Gonna make a video about tanks, get the little things.

The M1 Abrams uses an L/52 105mm gun
The M1A1/M1A2 Abrams uses an L/44 120mm gun
There are no M1's in the arsenal with a 105. None. (14 years army)
The MA is not something you wanna call a "modern tank", it's older then my parents. So yes, the modern version, as he says, is equiped with 120mm.

The thing with the K Wagon is that yeah it would get through many trenches and Mark IV’s, but eventually it’s downfall would either be Artillery or the terrain around it.

Also 280 mm on Landkreuzer isn't almost 4 times wider than the 105/120 mm on Abrams =P way over 4 times the cross sectional area and I'm sure the ammunition is an order of magnitude or 2 heavier though.
