- How to do the DOLLY ZOOM with the Samyang 35-150 f2-f2.8
The new Samyang 35-150 has a great new feature for videographers! That's a cool way of doing a dolly zoom just like you may have seen in Jaws or Vertigo!
Here I run through it and show what settings need to be changed to get it right!

Thx for sharing good review!
Ugh, I really think I might actually need and use this lens… Great tutorial
Cheers! Hope you do a better job of the final thing than I did! Haha
😂.... That actor does he have an agent 😂
Haha no, you need to be talented to have one.... 😂😂
@@JayGilmourMedia 🤣🤣🤣
What does this feature actually do? I feel like it's possible with any zoom lens. Does it keep it in manual focus and do the math to compensate for distance as you zoom?
Haha try it with a normal zoom then, you won't be able to do it, you'll need a focus puller, because you won't be able to keep focus properly. Yeah basically it's micro focusing along the focal length.
@@JayGilmourMedia I appreciate that, but I'm assuming you're talking about mf, I've tried it with AF before and it wasn't too bad (with 28-70mm f3.5-5.6, so probably easier), the shake was not good though :) I'm much more of a photography person so I was interested in how the mechanism would work.
@@amiri7392 I have no idea how the internals work, I don't work for Samyang I'm just an ambassador! Lol I know it's making micro adjustments through the AF, but not true standard AF.
@@JayGilmourMedia that would probably improve it a lot especially in extreme low light. It's a very cool feature. Just was confused at first
