- Part of the Ulysses 31 Restoration Project; "The Seat of Forgetfulness" (Episode 12 of 26). Although I have spent hours restoring this classic 80's cartoon please note that I own nothing and will be happy to remove content if asked.
One of the main reasons why I loved this when it was aired in the UK in the mid-80's & why I still love watching Ulysses 31 now, some of the episodes were quite deep.
Remember seeing this stunning episode as a kid and to be honest, this was the episode that really, really got me into Ulysses 31.
I was so captivated as a child by the Impossible Greek architecture as a child....so mind blowing. Love this episode and all the work you are doing to remaster this amazing series.

That giant loom! The three fates! The kids doing the Sisyphus on the Mobius strip! This scared the hell out of me as a kid, now I know why ;)
When I played through God Of War 2 I was instantly reminded of this episode

YOu did a great job on all of these episodes. I love Ulysses 31 so much, such a genius cartoon, in every way.
I will never forget....
It's strange that I don't remember any particular episode but l do remember the theme song and all the background music with crystal clarity.
It's a work of art and genius script writing ...
17:13 This one instance really raises so many questions. That big headed alien... Is his kind the true identity of the greek gods that have been tormenting Ulysses? Has all this just been one big illusion these odd looking aliens made? And if so why did they choose to take on the guise of the Greek gods of Earth? Why did Ulysses become their target and have him roleplay the death of the cyclops with a robot? And what of the wind gods from the previous episodes? Are they the same as that little alien too or is there only one alieen behind it all?
I know I'm probably overthinking it but this really is a mysterious series and I love it!

Just epic... best episode? Trippy and claustrophobic, incredible dream-like animation. And talk about a dark ride, loaded with symbolism. Imagine a kids show today saying "look at these poor souls- they have no peace, even in DEATH!" 😆
I like how Ulysses just has the impulse to follow the round cargo ship. He was impulsive for the most part in the Odyssey also. There's one part where he's escaping the cyclops' island after blinding the one that had captured them so they could escape. Ulysses, feeling a bit overconfident, yelled a taunt at the cyclops when his ship was a good distance out to sea. The cyclops hurled a massive boulder in the direction of the taunt and nearly hit Ulysses' ship. He didn't taunt cyclops anymore after that.
I know right? Even after literally everyone has observed that it's almost definitely a trap, including Ulysses himself, he's like well, it is fuckit Friday after all

This one's more bizarre than usual. Also, I can't explain it, but the first half of this episode I have no memory of, yet the 2nd half, I'm sure I saw. Since I have this on tape, that's rather strange.
Nono is probably my favorite "cute robot" from this era. (Except perhaps "Sgt. Major Zero" on "TERRAHAWKS", but I doubt he'd consider himself "cute".)
I don't recall hearing starwars sounds FX in this series.

Ulysses 31 recovered
This was a pretty good episode but it's a bit unsatisfying, plot-wise that Ulysses didn't forget. I wonder if there's a more complex plot twist that they decided not to run with (maybe it would have been just too long).

Probably because Zeus changed his mind and didn't allowed him to forget. Maybe he wanted to continue this game with Ulysses trying to find the Kingdom of Hades and the cure for his amusement.
This shows how powerful the gods really were and how easily they could simply destroy Ulysses.
@@MinasTsambanis I'd say his resolve too is involved, giving Zeus no choice but to allow him to remember and continue
