cato storlid I doubt the owners manual says to take out of the box and late in dirt that start it and pull it out of the water with it running that way you run the water pump dry immediately and then completely ignore any type of break in for a new engine and give her wide-open throttle immediately
Not even a break in period? It's supposed to be run at lower rpms for a good 8-10 hrs before full revs Make sure to secure the motor with a steel cord so it doesn't fall in the water..
Takes engine out of the box just to set it right in the dirt ...then pulls it out of the water while running. Unbelievable. No wonder the place is in shambles
If I got one of those I’d look after it a tad more lads but fair enough least your using it most just let them sit on the drive or moored up collecting mould
I had one of these on my 14 foot ali boat they are a beast will run all day very reliable engine 1 carb 2 cylinders cant get more basic than that .

That’s good…but please what do you do when you short petrol on the sea? Do have to pour the petrol in the red tank or the main engine tank.
I have that same motor but in a 50 horse he just keeps running and running never had a problem with it.
That engine will do about 15-20 years of service

Break in periods are important. The engine most likely got warped by running it like that.
