I don’t think your wife lets you in the house during the day lol! Great GIG job! Thanks for a informative and fun show.
The way you mounted the new pump is brilliant so all the hoses match up. The pump is meant to be mounted directly on the engine, near your fuel filter (where it says "5/16 on the fuel hose). The way you mounted it is much better and a lot less trouble. I don't own a Johnson outboard, I don't own a boat but your vids are very interesting.
Nothing better than a two stroke. 🏋🏻♂️
Gig you are a man of many talents !!! Iove your videos , keep up the good work . You and Buddy are a good team !!!
Love your videos very detailed. Do you have the video of where you disconnected VRO. From the start? Like disconnecting, electrical, etc.
Thanks man. Helps a lot. I’m going to try to change my self.
Nice job Gig. 👍
Steve that pump mounts on the side of the engine just above the white fuel filter
Yes, so much extra work for no reason.
You are amazing. Good job!
those pumps are great.. i have one on my suzuki Four wheeler. works great
Good work GM!
A bit of a challenge I'm sure, but you likely have saved many thousands $$ vs new!
( and the 4 stroke outboards are not all that great as they want everyone to believe! )
I know where the 2 fuel lines run on the fuel pump but where does that 3rd vacuum line run to?
you should use the right pump what has only two connections and it has the factory space on the side of the motor next to the starter and no need that console and no need the pulse hose.
Do you have to block off where oil used to be pumped into the motor?
One has line was intake one line was going to carb the other hose gets hooked up to pulse vacuum line ? Thanks
That is correct
Is the new fuel pump doesn't have the power wire ?
Did you locktite those nuts? I could see them vibrating off at the worst time.
No maybe i should
@@Gigmaster If you decide to do it they make a Marine locktite. Good job on the new boat so far.
Dude, I'm trying to do this conversion myself but I think you skipped some stuff. Like how is the pump driven? Isn't the middle hole between the 2 mount holes for the "Pulse" signal coming from the engine? Also what is the 3rd nipple on the pump for???
It is vacuum driven.
@@Gigmaster Right on, where did you hook the vacuum to on the pump?
Should be on the pump diagram but you could suck on the fittings and figure it out. Lol, gas line will have a flow in one direction.
Where can i find the pump you used in your video?
Pump needs pulses from engine. I think there is a spot on engine to mount it.
Keep,a spare one on the boat
I’m about to do this to my 1989 Johnson 120v4. I just done like the idea of the pump possibly going bad and hurting the outboard.
Dude! You mount the fuel pump directly to the engine at the port that activates pump‼️
I’d like to see what I need to do with the wiring
you do realize you just block off the pulse nipple for the vro with a 1/8 npt plug, then hook up the fuel pump to the port side of the block just underneath the flywheel right? its a factory installed port. why not use it?
Where is the link for the fuel pump?
I want to convert mine
Do your own research but i believe this one will work amzn.to/40gSzb3
very nice job i would carry a spare fuel pump for only 15.00
I could always pump the bulb and get home
@@Gigmaster if that was me i would look for 9.9 motor for the back just to be safe
Your going to be screwing with that engine all the time. Its 22 years old and god knows how many hours on it. Get a trouble free new engine so you can enjoy your time instead of screwing with an old engine.
Terrible explaination of hose routing
