This hit me hard, and I bet others can relate too. I'm south asian. My parents came to the U.S. and incredibly hard to build a foundation for themselves and soon to be family. They had little money to begin with, but were very smart people. Getting a Visa and Citizenship took lots of time away from there lives, so I know not to be spoiled but be fortunate for where I am. I owe alot for my parents' sacrifices and know that I have to make them proud no matter what. I'm currently a freshman, but I have a long and bright future planned for myself, though I know it will be challenging. I want to say whatever your doing, always give it your all, because in the end, your effort is all that becomes of your reality.

Funny thing is - this applies to all ages. If you feel you're slacking, this will hit you. If your parents are feeling down and not trying to improve their situation, remind them too of the duty they have to their own parents, ancestors and bloodline.
