Oh, for a tripod! I still have one of those over-the-shoulder cameras (if it's the one I saw in the Cummings shoot, it was a self-contained camcorder, whereas mine had a separate backpack recorder with a full-size VHS cassette); isn't it amazing that any run-of-the-mill smartphone today can out-perform these old Jurassic units by miles. Still, how great to see this Ur generation of musical/comedy stars from a time when you had to be a triple-threat (sing, dance, act) even to do B films. Who were the singing sisters in blue? And a shame that Jones would be gone in another year, as Cummings himself was gone within a half year of his 80th birthday that Jones recorded. Was Jones this avid an archivist for a while, sorta like Ken Murray, or did he only do a few in his last years?

I honestly don't know but I suspect he got into it with the advent of video tape. But he had a collection of many of his films in 16mm. The girls are Lyn and Lee Wilde.

@@ChelseaRialtoStudios I began in the mid-80s with the aforementioned Panasonic camera-plus-backback duo, then onto a smaller VHS-C unit, with each unit subsequently getting more compact, eventually becoming all digital with either built-in memory or SD cards, until the smartphones made all the previous models obsolete. One of these days I have to convert all my tapes to digital format. either DVD or something I can put on a hard drive or SSD. Many Hollywood stars were big on home movies, even early color stuff, or into 3D like Harold Lloyd. Then there was Bob Crane, but that's another story. Anyway, I always appreciate the eclectic and surprising stuff you post.
