MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS 30 second TV spot

This was sent to tv stations by Prime TV Inc. to promote their airings of MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS. Prime used the same words for titles as in the original BABES IN TOYLAND trailer (czcams.com/video/EklOlx9POlo/video.html) but did new, cheaper overlays. This is a very rare 16mm reversal print with original Prime TV leader.

Victor Young Scoring WELLS FARGO

This is a sequence from a 1937 Paramount short, narrated by Gayne Whitman, that chronicles Victor Young composing the musical score for Frank Lloyd's epic drama WELLS FARGO. Notable in this short are scenes that were deleted from the film soon after the original release. The film first played at 115 minutes and now survives only in a 97 minute cut. The bald fellow "helping" Young conduct is stu...

Apparently Facebook's algorithms don't recognize satire!
All this and Phil Arnold too!
Yes - Peeping Tom in the flesh!
This movie was an outstanding collaboration of director, producer, actor and supporting cast. It's no wonder he won an award. He's always portrayed a quality of depth and dedication to every role - he was breathtaking in his delivery of emotions and seemed to have good chemistry with everyone he played a scene with, not only women. People wanted to work with Mr. Cukor and we can see why. Thank you for this - many more please of this wonderful actor.
8:58 Anthem part start here
2024?🎉
The opening song is by Yip Harburg and Harold Arlen and is one of their greatest, speaking for all oppressed minorities.
Weird concept. You have a thriller about a master of disguise, but also have several major movie stars, bizarrely hidden under layers of make up, playing bit parts and some of them with no actual connection with the main plot. Also, apparently there is a novel telling what really happened behind the curtain during filming (the actors who were supposed to play under make up actually only played a fraction of their screen time, the rest of their performances were the work of a stand in, who later penned the aforementioned novel). Weird movie indeed.
Yeah - I don't think Lancaster is actually in the film except for the curtain call!
@@ChelseaRialtoStudios He's obviously not. The lady protesting the fox hunt is obviously a woman and like 20 minutes later they show the unmasking scene and they want us to believe it was Lancaster all along. Preposterous 😅
WOR TV had the best bumpers and intros... Always gave me a cozy and relaxing feeling growing up in the Bronx back in the seventies and eighties... GOOD MEMORIES!!!
Wow! You guys nailed it
Looking forward to watching and critiquing the movie

Just like an original trailer. Well done
My husband lived near her in Lake Placid. I hope he's hearing her in Heaven.
This was before the U.S. went full on Communist after the war.
I doubt this is from 1962, more like late 1960's.
Agreed.
This recording has been a treasured part of my collection for the last 50+ years. Mr. Robinson’s voice perfectly captures the longing and regrets of Hale’s story.
DITTO!
LILLIAN ROTH is totally fabulous here!!
The only one for this song. Makes me cry for the way our blessed country has fallen and disrespect we have failed
so RARE!
Such a great and funny video thanks to all who was in it 😊
Cute movie with the happy ending thank you
Tremendous
No one should ever record this song again. It can't be done any better than by Kate Smith. Hers was the first performance and still the best.
Phil performed regularily at the Wilshire Bowl for many years in Los Angeles.
Driving through a state highway in Missouri Ozarks i saw a sweeping view of water rolling through and around huge, smooth boulders- in that 5 seconds I saw where Benton was imprinted- simple and fantastic😅
It's strange seeing all the extras from The Three Stooges in the same shenanigans but without the stooges.
I am not American, but I say: God bless this dear woman.
It's amazing how that theme music later became a stock track in the KPM library, complete with rooster crow intact, and even got used on "Ren & Stimpy" a few times!

What is Bobby Jr. doing now? Anyone know? ⬅❓
The Best!
Great 'wipes' employed on this 'faux trailer'; wish I could view the entire film....
Nice Job! Thanks for re-editing this stuff of nightmares for me!
Somebody invested something in the mid 30's. The quality of sound took an amazing leap in quality.
Well, this is only a 16mm print. It's a "composite dupe" with a variable density soundtrack. Not anywhere near representative of Universal's recording quality of the early 1940's (see the current video versions of HOLD THAT GHOST for comparison). But yes, in late 1935 studios started using the "push-pull" recording system which increased fidelity by yards.

It’s spelled “playwright”, not “play write.”
I know. Unlike Vimeo, youtube does not let you replace a video. I corrected it years ago. Ecch.
Really good movie....one of my wife and I favorites!
RARE!
Back when America was great!
If she had lived, and not permanently ruined her voice with drugs, just think what Whitney Houston could do singing this song?
This is the first time I've seen this and LOVED it. A lot of familiar actors here. LOVE Dudley Dickerson in the Stooge shorts. I wish he was in more of them but I guess I can now look for him in these shorts. I think he would have been a great stooge if things were different back then. I can see Larry, Moe, and Dudley.
Merci monsieur Svoboda !
growing up back then that first woman used to scare the shit out of me.
Amazing Trailer!
She spoke English better and more fluently and fluidly than a lot of native speakers!
Odd that Victor Records assigned the title song to Richard Crooks instead of label mate and star John Boles.
0:39 While the storm clouds gather Far across the sea, Let us swear allegiance To a land that’s free. Let us all be grateful For a land so fair, As we raise our voices. In a solemn prayer. God bless America, Land that I love, Stand beside her and guide her Through the night with a light from above; From the mountains, to the prairies, To the oceans white with foam, God bless America, My home, sweet home. God bless America, My home, sweet home.
