This brings back some child hood memories. These we're my favorites:
1. The Classic Root Beer Float: Vanilla Ice Cream and Root Beer
2. Black Cow: Vanilla Ice Cream and Coke
3. Orange Dreams: Vanilla Ice Cream and Orange Crush
4. Royal Wine: Vanilla Ice Cream and Cheerwine, topped with a cherry
5. Big Firecracker: Vanilla Ice Cream and Big Red w/ crushed Hot Tamales on top
Ew! I can do without root beer lol.
Hey, root beer floats are awesome! xD
Twilight Warrior I REFUSE!!!! Lol. I love Coca-Cola floats, though!
Jarrett Freeney Lmao I've never heard anyone hate root beer floats before until now xD
Turquoise Cheetah cheerwine is the name of a soda.
I add a splash of Coke to my chocolate milk. Tastes like a Coke float. So good
Svinjska Polutka It's coke with ice cream on top
Coca-cola and Vanilla ice-cream.
Ashley Messineo pretty much yoo-hoo
Ashley Messineo love coke floats
Will jave to try that... the coke and Chocolate milk
With the amount of weed I smoke im surprised ive never thought of this
Lysergic SmokesDoobies coke, rootbeer or gingerale + milk = stoner bliss! 😎
My stomach is hurting watching this. Bless your stomach EMMY.
Pls make more vlogs😭😭😭
This drink is actually amazing. I've been drinking it all my life.
lactose free milk is an option
@@TheWorldisaLIE2 that is definitely an option. I have stayed away from milk entirely as a drink cause my
stomach doesn’t like it!
nothing like adding corrosive acidic coke to good nutritious milk.
Andres Marrero milk is poison
Milk is acidic
Andres Marrero as they say... Not your mom, not your milk. :p
So, that's totally different from adding milk to several times more corrosive, stronger concentrated stomach acid?
There are so many studies showing milk increases chances of diabetes, heart disease, and other such good stuff. Coke, of course, is not even a food item to begin with, unlike milk.
here we have a drink called Soda Gembira which is basically a combination of sweetened condensed milk, frambozen (raspberry) syrup, and club soda/sparkling water
Is that Indonesian or Malaysian? The land of "RB". :P
I'll have to try that. What are the typical flavors of syrups used?
sound like sirap bandung to me. Some creamer, rose syrup and some soda.
soda susu is good too!! just plain soda (or sparkling water) plus condensed milk!
Anggit Pratiwi that sounds sweeter than whatI would dare to drink hahaha
Anggit Pratiwi thats good i tried it beforr
I love how relaxed and chill your videos are, great to watch after work I appreciate the time you take to do these
When I was growing up, I would have the Suicide Soda at family buffets, it's a mixture of different fountain drinks from the soda dispenser. To me, it just tasted like Dr. Pepper with a hint of Pepsi and a touch of another soda flavor.
CooperGal24 I definitely learned that from my dad when I was a kid, lol. Even now he regularly mixes cola and orange pop.
^^ Ok THAT sounds good! Like a creamsicle, but cola flavored!
Stacey In Germany mixing Cola and orange Soda is actually a thing! :) It's called "mezzo-mix" and is made by Coca-cola ^^
Nice
There's a Korean drink named Milkis which is basically milk with sprite but it tastes amazing! You should try it :)
Ryan Kim I looove Milkis so much! Besides Calpis my favorite drink. :D
Ryan Kim omg my korean friend brought that too work all the time
Ryan Kim I love the milk flavor and strawberry flavor :D
I like those
I hate that drink so much lol
people where im from (Northern Ireland) grew up with this beverage and seem to enjoy it but I've never tried it,I'm more intrigued now! I've been watching you for such a long time and your voice is still the most relaxing and lovely voice haha, love your videos!
Emmy! You should try' kalimotxo'. When I studied in the basque region of Spain, this was a very popular drink to have out at the bars. However when we traveled to Madrid, nobody knew what it was! Very region specific drink. It's red wine mixed with Coca Cola, so this made me think of it! Do a little google and check it out - I quite liked it, actually! :)
Cool! Thanks for the tip!
LorraineVirginie My parents used to drink that but they are from Mexico.
LorraineVirginie I used to live and Valencia and they loveddd that over there more commonly though we drank tinto del Verano which is the same thing except using lemon Fanta instead of cola.. it tastes similar to sangria
Ahhh I love Valencia too!!!
LorraineVirginie I have family all over Spain my cousin tried it she liked it
ummm guys.... the music was always there right or am I going crazy?
noticed this too. a bit distracting but i love emmy
Malta with condensed milk is FIRE 🔥
Please try ❤️
Ruth R. Yoooo Im Guatemalan my mom says people give that stuff to skinny kids so they can gain weight, it's sooo good and I'm soooo fat now
Pregina Bad 😂 I bet you're not fat, but definitely happy. I wish I could drink it and it go straight to my butt.
I'm Cuban and my dad used to mix Malta and condensed milk all the time when I was growing up!
Why would you want to add more sugar to malta? I'm sure adding milk would do
I love your reaction. No idea why I laughed so hard after you took your first sip. lol
Oh yesss, poor man's floats. Two Detroit favorites were one part milk with two parts of either Hires Rootbeer or Vernors Ginger Ale, both regional sodas. Quick, cheap and delish! Love all your vids, Emmy - thanks
Used to do it with cream sofa, half and half, and some vanilla or raspberry syrup! Makes a lovely Italian cream soda! It also tends to separate, but not as much. It just looks like it's curdling.
Your kids at the very end of your video they sound absolutely adorable!!!😂
Love u Emmy ❤️❤️ your awesome keep doing what your doing!!
Inspired by Laverne & Shirley, I tried milk & Pepsi a few times when I was a kid. I hadn't thought about it in probably 2-3 decades, but as soon as you mentioned mixing milk and Coke, I immediately remembered how it tasted. If memory serves, it's kind of like an ice cream soda, but without the chuck of ice cream in it. I haven't had soda in a long time, but I may have to try it again sometime soon. I'd climb K2 for you.
love how you describe the flavor. you are awesome! :D
When I was a kid after watching Laverne and Shirley I tried the pepsi and milk combo. I guess over all it's a similar concept to a Coke Float.
Sometimes I really worry about Emmy.
Ancient MRE's, this concoction, horrifically hot curry, yikes!
I never do. She seems like just about the most together person imaginable.
I used to drink something called Spoetnik sometimes when I was younger. For it you put a bit of sugar and coffee cream in a glas and then fill it with gazeuse ( a very very sweet soda). It would always get a thick layer of foam on top.
I remember mixing apple juice and Coke once when I was a kid and absolutely loving it. I haven't tried it since, though.
Growing up in Massachusetts, we had a "Laverne and Shirley" when adults were having mixed drinks we couldn't have. Pepsi and milk (maybe 4:1,nowhere near half). I vaguely remember adding other flavorings like vanilla extract.
coke, milk, very strong black coffee and a healthy squirt of hershey's syrup with lots of crushed ice is ssssoooo good! I have been drinking it for better than 40 years!
I've never even heard of this, but it seems vaguely reminiscent of an egg cream.
egg creams are the best
*****
They aren't hard to make! You need chocolate syrup, milk, and club soda. You put a few tablespoons of chocolate syrup in a glass, add about a quarter cup of milk, and mix it together. While you mix it (stir pretty quickly!), add the club soda. I think it tastes even better if you chill the glass first, makes it nice and frosty.
There's actually a rootbeer float milk glass available at Woodlands Market in California by Rosa Brothers and it's amazing. They also make an orange milk, classic strawberry and chocolate of course, but the best ones are rootbeer and orange, something new and amazing.
I often mix a few spoonfuls (a scoop or 2) of vanilla ice cream with orange juice or lemonade (simply lemonade). So delicious!
I know this is a bit off-topic, but you should try Milk Toast!
-Make two pieces of toast (to any degree of burnt you'd like)
-Heat milk in a saucepan on stove until it's very hot or until it just barely starts to stick to the sides of the pan
-Put toast in a bowl, butter each piece
-coat both layers in a decent portion of plain granulated sugar
-poor the milk on top
Typically eaten with a spoon, it's a super sweet treat, great for breakfasts, deserts, or nights you can't sleep. I learned it from my dad. The texture is great with a contrast between the crunchy and soft part of toast and soggy bread, and it's creamy and sweet from the milk and sugar!
BTW, love love LOVE your videos! My gf introduced me to you about a year ago, and I think I've probably watched almost all your videos by now xD Keep it up! :)
Congrats 800k subscribers:)
Emmy back in Guatemala I drank that but what we use was Nestle milk from the cans it was really good specially when you mix it with Vanilla Icecream.
I use almond milk due to my lactose intolerance, but I love to mix milk with a lot of things. I mix milk honey and peanut butter, I love milk with frozen berries in bowl, i mix milk with sweet bread or muffins and sometimes let it soak till it gets mushy (I call it "bread pudding" haha when I was a kid), as for drinks I have also mixed milk with juices. Often berry flavored juices, mango, papaya, etc. or Asian teas.
In Australia, we have spiders, it's generally coke or any fizzy drink and have 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream in it, it's refreshing and yummy, I love the Fanta with ice cream and the Raspberry fizzy drink with ice cream in it, and the ice cream make the fizzy drink more refreshing in the summer time here in Australia, it's an Aussie thing! Love ALL your taste tests by the way Emmy and I'm also lactose intolerant too.
oh! this reminds me of one of my favorite drinks, it's called "soda gembira" or "happy soda". there are 2 ways to make it
1. Mix some strawberry fanta with some condensed milk
2. or you can add carbonated water, some syrup and condensed milk.
(you may want to experiment with the soda:milk ratio to get what you like)
it's really delicious and refreshing :3
I've had milk with root beer or with cream soda, as an alternative to egg cream which I didn't care for. I only put an inch or two of milk in the glass, then pour the soda in from a foot or so above the glass (glass in the sink so I don't make a mess). You want it to foam up like a fountain soda, and the milk stabilizes the foam a bit. It's like a float with the ice cream dipped out.
Hello Emmy, I really enjoy your channel! I was wondering if you've ever tried Lactaid milk? I'm assuming you have since you're a food guru but just thought I'd ask. My husband and I are both lactose intolerant and we use it since it has the lactase enzyme already in it. It's really great!
My husband grew up drinking orange juice and milk. He kept requesting it and his parents thought it was strange but he liked it and all his brothers followed suit. He stopped liking it upon finding an old one that had sat around in a sippy cup for too long...
pianopaws88 I used to have orange chunks with milk. And yes, it needs to be consumed right away. :D
I lived in Jamaica during my internship and while there I tried a popular drink made of the following:
12 oz. bottle Red Stripe/Guinness stout
½ cup sweetened condensed milk
½ teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 raw egg (beaten)
We skipped the raw egg and it was absolutely delicious. I'd love to see you try it! 😊
in indonesia people drink soda with condensed milk. it's called "soda susu" which means milk soda. you can use fanta or sprite or any soda you want and you can add ice cube. it's so refreshing but too sweet for me. but it's nice and tasty though.
Emmy! You should try Morir Soñando (die dreaming). It's a Dominican drink consisting of milk and orange juice. There are variations using evaporated milk and lemon or passion fruit juice. It's my favoriteeee! Please try
Italian cream soda! Basic italian soda were you have sparkling water with a sweet syrup like torani's, but you also add a splash of cream or half and half to it. I like it best with an orange flavored syrup but cherry isn't bad either
One of my favorite drinks is "Brazilian Limeade (Limonade)" it's basically just limeade with sweetened condescended milk! It's sooo delicious! You should try it!
Coke and milk was a sort-of accidental discovery for me - around the time I was 8, I was craving a coke float and we had no ice cream, so I decided to use milk as a replacement, haha. I loved it, and drank it all the time from then onward!
I drink this all the time! You need less milk!
Thanks for the tip. I am a novice at it!
Definitely less milk.
Pepsi and milk
no coca cola
OMG Emmy hi!!! I love your videos!
One of my favorite drinks 🍸 of all times. Had it for the first time about 30 years ago and have it regularly.
milk and oj,many years ago when i was really into the flavor of dreamcicles. its an acid and milk,i dont think i have to explain the result other then it does in fact taste a lot like a dreamcicle. i've also boozed up eggnog with a shot of spiced rum and it also reacts the same as milk with acids. (do small servings just so you dont waste so much eggnog, rum, milk or oj).
please try Ponché it's grape juice mixed with egg yolk or you can do it with Malta (unalcoholic malt beverage) & egg yolk. it's soooooo good my mom made it for me as a kid so I can gain weight since I was a skinny tooth pick lol
Oh when I was sick growing up, My mom used to warm up Milk with Turmeric and sugar. She called it Yellow Milk and it was warm and tasted great!
Ahh when you said yakult yum! I love yakult! Especially the Apple flavour!
Speaking of stuff mixed with milk
One of my favourite drinks is orange juice mixed with a little bit of whipping or heavy cream, I had it as a mocktail in a restaurant the first time and it's SO GOOD kind of like a virgin pina colada but orange
I'm going to try this milk and coke thing :)
Love your videos! Your voice always is so soothing.
I'd climb K2 for you 😉
its really relaxing to watch your Videos, thanks Emmy and greetings from Germany. Last but not least - i'd climb K2 for you. :)
That's sweet of you to say!
I did this as a kid! I even learned to mix it perfectly so the milk doesn't curdle lol. I loved it as a kid 😂
I'd be afraid my stomach would explode!! Lol. And yes Laverne was fond of milk and Pepsi
When I was little, my parents introduced my brothers and I to eggnog and coke. Yum!
Omg when I was young, I went every summer to Morocco and everytime I would got sick because of the weather and food changing, my granma or aunt always gave me coke and milk to drink and...I loved it, when I tell people, they always say to me that's gross...lol
I remember making coke floats as a kid with a friend... we left the glasses without finishing them and the result in the morning was shocking! Of course we tried drinking it afterwards too haha
It's funny because just the other day while finding advertisement inspiration, I came across a vintage ad for seven-up that suggested mixing it in milk! I didn't sound appetizing to me at all but maybe that is something you can try!
Here in Michigan, we mix chocolate milk with Vernor's soda (tastes is in between ginger ale and ginger beer). It's delicious!!!
I do this all the time!!! Its so GOOD
Omg I love mixing Malt drinks, the non-alcoholic kind, with evaporated milk or sometimes sweet condensed milk, it's so yummy!! Malta Con leche Condesada👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
In my country we also like to make what some of us call, "Morir Soñando". It translates to 'Die Dreaming". It's basically orange juice, (it has to be natural, not the powder kind lol)and evaporated milk(I think you can also use normal milk). You have to pour the milk in while stirring the orange juice with ice. Otherwise the milk cuts. I also like adding sugar😋 I don't know the exact measurements though, maybe half and half? It's delicious!!
First thing that came to mind for me was a root beer float... We use to have it with Cola instead.... and the ice cream is a milk product.
My mom would ALWAYS make cola milk during the hot summers. In Pakistan, we call it "dood-soda,", translating to "milk-soda.". I loved drinking it. So refreshing! Sorry to hear you didn't like it, but i applaud you for at least giving it a try :).
Interesting! I've had a different soda and milk combo - red Kola and milk- and it's good. Maybe I ought to give this a try!!
I always used to drink Tampico orange juice and coke together SOOOO GOOOD
I imagine grape or orange or strawberry crush with some milk would be delicious. Like a 50/50 bar. I actually bought some of tillamooks orange cream ice cream, its delicious. I imagine it would be like that but a drink.
My Mom was from the South (United States) and she grew up drinking coke with peanuts. You take a handful of Spanish Peanuts, skin and all, and put them in a bottle of coke...you proceed to drink the coke as normal and then when you are reaching the end of your soda you start eating the peanuts. I have had this several times myself but not since I was a kid....I should introduce it to my husband and two boys to see what they think....thank you Emmy for triggering a fond memory of my Mom.
I used to mix sunny delight and milk together when I was a kid, I know... nasty right? but it was my favorite drink as a child. Kind of reminds me of a homemade orange Julius with curdling lol.
Orange Julius, oj and milk with a few other ingredients; Purple Cow, grape juice or soda and milk; and of course milk tea served over ice. Some people use condensed milk to sweeten it instead of plain sugar.
Here in México (Campeche city) we use to drink, in christmas days, a mixture of Coke (13oz) and Rompope (3oz). Rompope is a cream/egg base alcohol beverage.
I remember mixing orange soda and milk as a kid and thinking it was good, but I was a kid, and loved stuff that disgusts me nowadays. I stopped drinking soda years ago and just can't bring myself to try the old childhood experiment now.
Totally makes sense to me, like a rootbeer float and I've used coke for that when no rootbeer handy. Maybe the ice cream changes the taste some, sweeter?
I grew up drinking Coke and milk! It's actually my favorite drink. I find the best ratio is roughly 1/4 Coke to 3/4 milk. It's to-taste, of course. (However, do NOT try nut-milks. They curdle immediately.)
What type of milk?
I'd climb K2 for you!!! Loved this.
The miracle of lactaids - helps me keep up my chocolate addiction ;)
I remember as a kid commercials about kool-aid milk. I always wanted to try it.
That's a cute little Cole bottle! We don't have that where I'm from :)
*coke
Root beer and milk is a bit like a melted down float but not quite as sweet or thick. (If you add half and half instead its more float-like.) And recently I tried Vanilla Big Red and milk and it wasn't bad, I kinda liked it.
When I was a kid I used to drink Vlasic pickle brine followed with a skim milk chaser. I don't know I just liked the way it tasted.
As a kid I used to drink milk with root beer syrup (intended for sno cones). Really delicious!
I use to drink this as a child, it also tastes really good with a cream soda or banana flavour softdrink 😍😍😍
My mom used to make this for me when I was a kid through my teen years! It's delicious. I've tried it with sprite too and it's not bad either. Weird I know ;-)
I have been drinking pop with milk all my life (I'm 49 now). I did get the original idea from Laverne and Shirley. We even came up with a name for it: "Mop" for milk and pop. My absolute favorite is rootbeer and milk. Sort of tastes like a melted rootbeer float. Now that I am lactose intolerant, I have cola with vanilla almond milk. Soooooo good! You can experiment with different brown pops: Dr Pepper, cherry coke, etc. Clear pops are mixed with fruit juice with splendid results! That one is called "Fizz" (not sure why, my kids and I thought of it, hahaha)
The way you and your kids talk sounds exactly like my sister and her two boys
I've had many spiders (Aussie for Ice Cream Floats) in Summer over the years! my two faves are Lime soft drink/soda and Vanilla Ice Cream or Coke/Cola and Chocolate Ice Cream!
I like to mix milk and rootbeer, about 1/2 and 1/2. Milk in orange soda is nice too.
hi emmy, i love your videos 😊💞
I love to put a splash of milk into my orange juice and vice versa. It separates quite nicely too xD There's also a drink called kiba it's cherry&banana juice with a bit of cream I loved as child.
i remember this from Laverne and Shirley....
If in heaven we don't meet,
hand in hand we'll stand the heat
and if it ever gets to hot
milk and Pepsi hits the spot. LOL
I used to put a splash of milk in some root beer! The taste reminds me of when all the ice cream has melted in a root beer float.
I used to do this as a youngin' with eggnog and coke!! Never thought to try milk! Eggnog + Coke reminds me quite a lot of egg creme drinks
I drank this all the time as a kid growing up in Massachusetts. But, to a lesser ratio than 1:1. The idea always was to just add enough milk to lighten the color to a sort of chocolate milk appearance and I believe this started off at soda parlors (think Victorian-Edwardian era) when people didn't want a whole ice cream sundae. But, wanted something more than just a soda. So, the soda jerk/dairy parlier would add condensed milk (usually) to some soda syrup and would make this concoction's ancestor instead of just adding the soda water. Though, that part's addition is what you effectively made and when done to a lighter degree than half and half, it's actually quite refreshing.
What sort of reaction do you get to your lactose intolerance? Just curious. I am lactose intolerant but have it all the time, and I find I've gained more of a tolerance to it as a result, depends on the cream content.
Presca From BC just loss stools or roughness in the tummy :)
I drank this all the time as a kid. Tastes like a cola float. Also works with root beer for the same effect.
Growing up I used to drink milk and orange juice (equal parts) and it's delicious. Like an orange dreamsicle.
I tried tang with milk to see if it taste like a orange creamsicle but if you want it to taste like one add some French vanilla coffee creamer to make it more sweeter.
Emmy you should try Vanilla ice-cream with Coke-Cola it is really tasty!
Make a 'spider' You select add a nice scoop of icecream to the bottom of a tall glass. Top with a small amount of any flavoured fizzy drink (soda?) I like creaming soda, (I think you call that root beer) , raspberry, or plain lemonade. It will create a lovely creamy foam. You spoon it off and enjoy it. Then top with more soda from your can or bottle and repeat until all the foam is gone, then mix up the remainder of the drink and enjoy the milky, fizzy yumminess. Australian favourite. Right up there with Vegemite, Chicko Rolls and Meat Pies.
My cousin enjoys drinking Cola & milk and Orange Crush & milk (she claims it taste like an Orange Creamsicle). I've personally never tried it but enjoyed experiencing it through you so I didn't have to! ;)
try dutch spoednik.
it's a tall glass whit one inch of coffee milk. 2 tea spoons of sugar and then you pour sprite on that.
it foams like crazy and you're suposed to "eat" the foam.
When I was a kid, my mom would make us a special drink - blue milk. It was just milk, sugar, vanilla and blue food coloring, but oh how we loved it. It wasn't until I was older that I found out the only reason it was blue was because that was the color food coloring that was always leftover in the box. lol
